Kitchen includes hot water sinks, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, espresso machine, coffee grinder and maker, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, knives, cutting boards, etc. If there's something you need and can't find it, we'll bring it out from our kitchen in the house. ALL YOU NEED TO BRING FOR MEALS IS THE FOOD. Limited grocery shopping in our little town; it's good to shop ahead. During June- August, fires MIGHT be allowed in the communal fire pit near the kitchen. You must ask the host!, No fires at your campsite June- August, Fires during cooler months are often allowed at your campsite, but you must ask the host if current conditions allow Fire MUST be completely extinguished before you go to sleep at night. Instructions are printed and at at each site as well as at the communal firepit. Firewood available for purchase. SMOKERS, please be super careful! Outlets to CHARGE YOUR PHONE and DEVICES at the Stage and in the kitchen. Fruit trees and gardens dot the property. Feel free to pick a piece of fruit. We almost always have organic fresh eggs from the chickens for sale, The Camp Store has a variety of items such as jam, organic veggies, flowers, etc. See the list on the fridge. We're in a wooded country neighborhood where lots of folks have dogs, so you might hear some barking and see some neighbors. Very occasionally we see a dog off leash. We ask that you keep your dogs on leash at all times, as we have cats and chickens. We encourage you to enjoy the forest, but do be aware that there is poison oak. If you don't know what it looks like we can show you. Arrive anytime after 1pm. Check out is at noon, but you can often stay later if we don't have other campers arriving to your site. If your plans change, just let us know at least 24 hours before check-in and you'll get a full refund.

This is a shared campground with 3 separate spots that are relatively private. Host will NOT be there when you arrive unless prior arrangement made. This campground is yours to enjoy. The expectation is 'leave it better than before so the next guests may enjoy! This is camping. BRING YOUR OWN GEAR. Put your own linens and bedding on top of what is already on bed. I can provide linens and bedding for an extra $25 for glamping spots. Beds have pillows on them. There is wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions in the area. You will not see either but good to be aware they exist. This is a safe 'neighborhood'. We do not have problems with thievery. However, always keep your valuables safe IN YOUR CAR. There is no Power. No WiFi. Cell phone coverage not guaranteed. Depends on your carrier. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS AND INFO BEFORE ARRIVING TO SITE. There is Poison Oak. Stay in the designated areas. If you are susceptible, bring and wash with Tecnu. Or use dish soap and wash. Poison oak is an oil. Most importantly: Don't Touch. No Fires allowed during Summer months. Be super careful. No candles. Smoke in fire pit area. Grass is a tinderbox. 1 spark can ignite all. There is a hose connected to kitchen. There is a Pet Fee stay. 1 pet per site allowed unless prior arrangement made. You are responsible to clean up after your pet and to make sure pet is safe and respectful to neighbors. This means you DO NOT leave your pet unattended, and is leashed at all times. If your pet is barking continuously, we ask that you leave. It is not respectful for all other neighbors. Please bring your own bed for your dogs and clean up after a shedding dog if you are indoors. We ask that guests clean up your camping spot upon departure to 'make the place better than before' for the next guests. Butterfly Landing is a sweet landing spot! Birds, butterflies and small wildlife love this spot. The habitat includes many native species of plant life. A pretty knoll that is on the top of a 40 acre property. Views of vineyards, redwood trees, valley floor, and expansive sky. Private, Quiet and beautiful. A central sunny meadow ties together 3 distinct private areas with a communal kitchen, bath-house, picnic-table sitting area and parking on the side. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Please use the path that goes to the outhouse (unless you are in the Greenroom) and make sure you put the mailbox red flag up so that others know it is occupied. ((Then don't forget to put it back down!!) Common sitting area. There are 2 picnic tables, Lots of umbrellas that can be moved wherever, a fire pit/table and lots of seating. Parking. There are room for 3 vehicles. Parking is to be in designated parking area please. Sunny meadow and forest shade make this a lovely landing spot to relax and enjoy nature, and a great opportunity to turn off those cell phones!! Butterfly Landing is about 1/2 mile from HWY 128 that runs through Anderson Valley. This location is the perfect location for it all. Wine tasting in the Valley, Navarro River swimming during the summer months, and the Mendocino coast is nearby. This is an Honor system camping spot. We ask that you leave your spot 'better than before', as in 'Leaver no Trace'. I rely on everyone to do their part in the communal kitchen to keep clean and free of critters. SUPER IMPORTANT to put all food scraps in the compost bin. NO food anything in the trash. This is how the bears show up. Please do your part. Thank you so much. The property has tons of hang out spots! Eat lunch over at the picnic tables, stare up at the stars at our moon gazing bench, or hang out in our communal area, over by the campfire.. We also have an outdoor shower and kitchen sink area that are open to all. The property runs parallel with Mendocino state parks and has plenty of spots to explore! Our main goal is to make you feel at home! Some things to know; -The Mosquitos have arrived! We provide repellant and coils to burn if you need! They're over on the bar by the campfire.. The property backs up to the big river water shed, so theres several creeks behind the property and this year we got some late rain.. There is a seasonal pond on the property as well, but it is treated with an organic animal safe biological to keep larvae from growing, so the pond isn't the issue. The amount and variety of wildlife is astonishing, with bear, deer, turkeys, fox, coyote, bobcat, Eagles, River otter, salmon and steelhead, with a wide variety of songbirds during migration. Easy access from road, close to town, tall oak trees, privacy, creek with salmon within a five minute walk, mountains, wildlife, barn owl nest box. Please note that during late summer, creek does not flow on surface but always has swimming holes where the salmon and steelhead wait for Fall rains to carry them down to the Eel river and eventually to the ocean, until they return as adults to spawn again. Guests love staying here: "Elderberry camp was really great! It was a large site, plenty of space, shade, and parking. Very peaceful and good distance between other sites although we were pretty much the only campers out there. Outhouse was clean and there was drinking water. We spent most of our Saturday in Eel River which was great. The water was perfect for swimming and fishing, our husbands caught some big ones. Water and electricity available. Many forest animals and Ravens living on the property. Your well behaved dog will not require a leash at Raven Haven 1. Sorry, due to the tiny goldfish pond, no dogs at Raven Haven 2, small well behaved dogs on leash is a possibility. Really great for campers wanting to relax in the Redwoods, not so great for loud partying. These are not party camps. It is in the forest so the mostly Redwood canopy provides some protection from the weather. Close to many beaches and parks. Albion is 7 miles south of Mendocino and 15 moles south of Fort Bragg. 2 nights at Locus Solus

This is a lovely, level spot overlooking the coastal trees (but not quite the ocean). There is a large, level parking area and some wooden lounge chairs in a clearing, with a picnic bench and several tent spots. The approach is on a gravel road and then a gravel track, well-described in the listing. The location itself is wonderfully quiet. I heardbirdsong in the fog each morning. One should be aware that there are no amenities (water/toilet etc.), and no fire pit, all of which was fine with me as a self-contained van camper. Just down the road, the center of Pt Arena is a small town with store, movie theater, etc. Visiting the coastal towns was easy from Pt. Arena. All in all, a lovely experience that I would happily come back to!

1 night at Ariana Acres

Great romantic cozy yurt, fully stocked. This site would be amazing for a family reunion as there’s are 4 yurts on a hill, with a hammock and a community kitchen. The gallons of water in the cooler were very useful to us as there’s no water hook up onsite. We arrived after dark and didn’t realize the toilet was a bucket with compost until the next morning. If I had known how well equipped this place was I would’ve prepared to cook here. Unfortunately we left quickly to eat something in a drive through. I’ll remember this place and hopefully come back as I pass through this area often.

Our Hosts were gracious and responsive as our Travel Trailer was struggling! We enjoyed the privacy. It was perfect for our needs for a getaway last minute. We really enjoyed the World’s largest Salmon BBQ on 7/5/25.

Weekend Trip to The Hideaway at Hole In The Wall

What a fun and unique spot! Campsite was great, had so many extra amenities and Thomas & crew were so friendly and knowledgeable about the land. Not secluded from other campers which we were fine with but just to note. The water is about a 5-10 minute walk and a little steep/unsteady in some areas. We were fine but just something to note. My dog LOVED the area too - very dog friendly! Definitely planning on coming back and exploring more of this beautiful area.

What a trip, in all ways. Thomas, the owner and caretaker are fabulous humans full of great stories! It was amazing to have our dogs off-leash which is most important to us. The sites are under development and looking great with a ton of potential. The bridge was a challenge (20ft trailer) but we managed just fine. We had a blast and left with some amazing memories. Looking forward to our next trip.

Beautiful setting, very peaceful, many little details made for a comfortable stay. Outdoor, kitchen, fire pit, hammock, and lots of places to relax. No place to shower on site. But there is a spring within driving distance that made for a nice shower in the afternoon.

1 night at Pickle Barrel Cabin and Camp

I wish that I was a good liar and say that I hated it. But fortunately I'm not a good liar : ) Highly recommended! Serenely quiet, as the day starts to dim. Except for nature. Birds whistling, churping talking to each other. Squirrels doing their thing, moths and butterflies and other bugs. This is beautifully simple nature. Loved it! Bring bug spray - it's nature : )

Weekend Trip to Shelter Cove Campground

Though it is a standard RV Park with full hookups and tent sites, it is in a great location, has great services - restaurant, grocery, propane, and is a short walk to the beach. We used it as a base camp and were very pleased.

Weekend Trip to Baby Banana Slug Farm

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sunshine Cabin at the Baby Banana Slug Farm. The five-acre wooded property is off the beaten path and provides a nice landing pad to explore the Mendocino coast. The description and photos are accurate. Nate is a very friendly and helpful host. Our dog was able to wander around off leash and she loved it. The cabin was comfortable, communal kitchen was well equipped, and the bath house was just fine. It was an outdoorsy but very comfortable experience.

I absolutely loved tent camping at Shelter Cove’s land. It may be one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. Walking distance to gorgeous restaurants and coffee shops such as Mario's Marina Bar and Surf Point Cafe. Unbeatable night views under the Milky Way. Right in front of the ocean. We saw deer, foxes, and lots of marine life. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Locus Solus

The octagon was amazing! Check in was super easy and Paul provided everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The space feels very secluded while being just a quick trip away from town.

The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning. Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Camping in MacKerricher State Park guide

Overview

About

The park is known for having one of the best stretches of uninterrupted whale watching in the area. Gasp in awe as these sea mammals breach the water. A variety of habitats in the MacKerricher State Park include tidal pools, forest, and wetlands.

Bring your binoculars for some bird watching and a closer look at the harbor seals basking in the sun. The park is home to more than 90 species of birds.

Previously part of Mendocino Indian Reservation, this park was once home to a logging and shipping company. Take one of the guided tours through park services or ride your bike along the trails.

It's a cinch to reserve one of the family or group camping sites online. After pitching your tent, take a shower and use the available drinking water. Stop by the visitor's center to learn more about the glass beach and Ten Mile River area.

Pinewood Campground

This was a fantastic little spot. We stayed in the dome option, and my daughter loved seeing the stars and the moon at night. The bathroom facilities were excellent. We booked this the day of, and the host was super responsive to the initial reservation request and turned the twinkle lights on when we messaged them we would be arriving after dark. The host takes great pride in this spot, adding great details to the overall aesthetic. The suggested a little hike to the river was nice and the cafe listed in the welcome packed was a delicious bonous. Only regret was not having more time to explore. If you flow the host's instructions not the google maps direction its easy to find.

This is by far my favorite campground yet solely because I have been going here since I was around 3 years of age. It has EVERYTHING. It is by the gorgeous coast with blue skies and blue waters. There are tide pools everywhere. There are beautiful bluffs to take in the sights, sunrises, and sunsets. There is also a boardwalk that leads you to different ocea/rock formation look out points. This is an area you do not want to forget your camera. The campsites are very spacious and not crammed side by side. They have various campsite choices. The Rangers are extremely nice and hepful. There is a lake nearby with fishing. There are also large sand dunes a few miles down the road as well as downtown village with shoppes. The shoppes are one of my favorites too because they have the best breakfast, coffee and pastries as well as grocery stores, pharmacies, movie theathers, etc! Go Enjoy!

Report from your shirtless host on Mac Kerricher State Park. If you have not been to this park you are in for a treat. Just 3 miles north of Fort Bragg. At the south end you got the Glass Beach. This Beach has sea Glass from the past. The experience of finding sea Glass is unforgettable and something to remember always. In side the park you have shore and Bishop pines. When the sun comes out and the warm air hits the pines the smell is so relaxing. A boardwalk that takes you out to Laguna point for whale watching and a seal watching station. There is a 140 camping sites accommodate tent and recreational vehicles. Tow group tent-only sites well hold 40 to 60 camper This state park is a must if you are planning a camping trip

MacKerricher Walk-in Campground

We camped here last Thanksgiving in the rain and we still had an absolutely incredible time. Ocean Views, and peace and quiet. <3

Surfwood Campground

Surfwood Campground is part of a group of campgrounds at MacKerricher. When you book, find the correct site # on the campground map. Because of it's location close to the beach, it's also typically the most crowded. The sites are nestled amongst the trees, not actually along the beach. The bathrooms, water spigots, and picnic tables are okay but not great. And combined with the crowds, you might want to try Van Damme State Park just about 20min south. I didn't stay at the other campgrounds at MacKerricher, so look at the reviews there too. You can definitely stop at MacKerricher during the day to see some tide pools, sea lions, and check out the beach, but I'd keep it to that.

MacKerricher Walk-in Campground

I just did a walk around the lake here and did a walk about through the walk in camps... My pick for seclusion are #2&#6. Ended up tent camping in spot #9 in the group camping loop just past the ranger station which was great. great campground for all.

MacKerricher Walk-in Campground

I cannot say enough about the walk-up sites. It's a 5-10 minute walk from the parking lot and almost all of the sites have their own separate entrance=total seclusion. You'll be surrounded by trees and can hear the ocean. Watch out for wildlife (duh)!

If you’re thinking about packing the windbreaker, go for it! The park is notoriously windy.

If you’re going to traverse on the rocks, make sure you bring water shoes – they are pointy and slippery (feel free to use this as an excuse for some new Chacos).
