A lovely farm - filled with beautiful flowers. The hosts seemed pleasant. The farm is < 5 mins away from the town center, and the yurt is comfortable.
However, we were surprised by a few things:
1. On our 2nd night, there was an alarm in the yurt (perhaps CO?) which started going off after midnight while we were sleeping. It went off 3 times, 2hrs apart each time - obviously very jarring and a terrible experience preventing us from getting restful sleep. We informed the host in the morning, and while she empathized, she didn't offer to make amends for our situation, which felt completely avoidable on their part. We were given no instructions about the alarm when we checked in, and in fact didn't even know its existence until it started blaring.
2. The listing included photos of a "private river spot." 2 reviewers also mention it. When we asked how to get to the spot, they said it was not included as part of the stay. Then they admitted they've been meaning to remove that from the listing for a year.
3. The keys to the cottage didn't work. The host admitted it had been giving problems for a while. One day it worked, next day it didn't. For the bulk of our stay, our stuff was unsecured. Hosts didn't think that was a problem since "nobody ever comes here" but I am sure they didn't leave their house unlocked from us, so why would they not want us to have that psychological safety as well.
4. 3 windows, only one curtain. We should've spotted this in the photos, so our bad.
