Nearly four acres close to town and amenities, yet quiet and secluded. Away from any major roads and on quiet nights, the fog horn from the Big River buoy can be heard. Wildlife on the property include piliated woodpeckers, deer, raccoons, jack rabbits, bears (keep your trash and food inside!), mountain lions, foxes, and of course, our resident ravens. Wild huckleberries and rhododendrons are abundant among the redwoods and fir. A beautiful spot to spend the night!

Root's End Tent Site

Great stay!

This was my first time using HipCamp and thanks to a site like Molly's, it was such an incredible experience. Highly will recommend this place and I'm so happy that this site was my first experience under this app. Everything was well organized/easy to follow instructions, communication was 10/10, site was so cool and clean. Bonus points for the outhouse! It as great to have a toilet on the campsite + it was so clean. I also wanted to mention that I camped here with my dog and had her on a long line, she loved her camp stay as well (both first timers :D)!

Fisherman's Shack

There are a few camping sites on the property along with the hosts residence. Even so, the fisherman's shack felt completely private. It was also clear that a lot of effort went into making the site cute and functional. The shack is perfectly set up for a couple. It was slightly cramped with two adults and two kids, but it worked. We knew it would be tight based on the description and were prepared. The adults took the bed and the kids used our camp pads on the floor. Our favorite amenity was the custom built firepit with perfect seating options on all sides and a stocked woodpile. The private composting toilet outhouse was also a hit. The kids loved the seat made from a barrel and that it just smelled like wood shavings.

Fisherman's Shack

Lovely site. Felt private though close to other sites because it is so well wooded. The shack was very comfortable and we loved the fire pit and supply of free wood. Great location! I’d recommend bringing camping chairs if you have them. There’s lovely seating but not the lay back and relax kind.

Great little spot

Great spot. Loved all the fire wood provided with the site. Pit toilet was better than some of real toilets I’ve used at other camp sites. The only improvement would be if the ground was more level but it was good.

Great Campsite in Gorgeous Mendo

This campsite was very well done! So many amenities!!! Each campsite had its own fire pit, stock of wood, and privacy. The outhouse was pleasant, not smelly at all, and actually very nice. Mendocino was a dream to visit! Would absolutely recommend and stay here again if I’m ever passing through!
