Weekend Trip to Sequoia Highland Camp

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The yurt was cozy and thoughtfully decorated - but watch your head on the low door! Though there aren't hiking "trails" per se, the grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. It's about 30mins down a winding road to get to the park, and half of the way is unpaved. Would stay again.

My partner and I loved the tiny cabin! We felt very safe and enjoyed the closeness of the cabin to the families home. The fire stove inside our room was amazing and made the space so cozy and warm. The land was beautiful and all the wisterias were breathtaking. We enjoyed talking and playing with the kids but were also able to have time alone. Sunny was super welcoming and so were her kids and pups. We will be back again 💕

I had an amazing stay at this campground and will definitely be coming back! The site was incredibly clean and peaceful—exactly what I was looking for. The toilet was well-maintained, and although the hot water heater for the outdoor shower wasn’t working during my stay, I still enjoyed a brisk navy shower. There’s something refreshing about showering outdoors, and I actually loved it. The view from the top of the site was stunning, with a sweeping overlook of the valley that made mornings and sunsets extra special. At night, the distant sound of cows mooing added a unique and calming touch to the experience—felt totally immersed in nature. There were some really thoughtful touches around the campground too, like string lights, a cozy hammock, and a tire swing that gave the place a fun, homey vibe. I do wish they sold firewood bundles down at the saloon—it would’ve made campfires easier to plan. But other than that, the site had everything I needed. The shade here is also perfect, and I imagine it would be ideal for summer camping. Can’t wait to return!

2 nights at The Castle House: Estate

Perfect spot to stay when visiting Joshua Tree National Park. We tent camped in site #2 and had a nice area in the back corner. The property was very clean and well taken care of. They had food service also and we were able to order pizzas and they brought them to us. The bathrooms were just a short walk across the property and the outdoor shower with hot water was amazing!

Weekend Trip to Hideout Mountain Lodge

There are many things to love. The view on the Perch is spectacular, wide open yet secret and intimate. The restaurant/bar down the hill has some fun music and is a good place to hang out. The location is just minutes away from Julian so we can hop into town when we want. We love it, our dogs love it. We will come back when we need to escape just for a couple of nights.

Beautiful vineyard setting in the rolling CA hills. Marek is a wonderful host, took us to a couple amazing wineries nearby, one of which 6 Sigma has a nice set of fast mountain bike trails on the property! The campsite includes a fun outdoor shower, portable toilet, power hook-up and the company of his very friendly dog Ceviche. Quiet all day long, full sun or shade under the trampoline “awning.” We loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer.

Weekend Trip to Spirit Walk - Private Retreat

Such a heavenly location! We stayed at the playhouse, it was cute and cozy. The grounds were well kept and really charming. Loved the proximity to the river and having an outdoor kitchen was fun too, don’t get to cook outdoors everyday. Would def go back!

It was very relaxing. Everyone is so friendly there. It’s nice to have access to showers and bathrooms while camping. They gave us the opportunity to stay in one of their RV spots with power. They gave us very good directions on where to go and places to see. If you see a black-and-white dog with no name tag but a collar don’t be alarmed. He is very friendly. His nickname is sticks. He loves to bring people sticks to have them throw it for him. He will play all day long and hang out. My wife and I are already planning our next trip to this campsite.

Fun to watch a osprey w/ a fish or deer nibbling on the grass. Cool ocean breeze is the best as temps in summer and fall typically 64° highs n 48° lows. Virgin Beach is right out the fence with good surfing n sand. There is path from the property to the "Haul Road" where lumber used to be hauled to a mill. This path is closed to cars, but you can walk, bike, or skateboard. If you go north you'll find McKerricker State Park, which has a nice boardwalk. Go south about 2 miles and you'll end up in the town of Fort Bragg. Dogs are welcome here.

The 6 mile dirt road can be bumpy, but a 4WD isa not necessary. Flushing toilets, pits toilets, potable water, and showers on site. *Warning! The hike to the Deep Creek Hot Springs is fairly steep and can be difficult for some people, especially in warm weather, so everyone’s physical fitness needs to be considered when deciding to hike to the hot springs with pets, children, elderly people, or out-of-shape/over-weight people in your group. Even though Deep Creek has never had any known cases of amoeba outbreaks, be advised that the warm waters around hot springs can carry a sometimes fatal amoeba. *Although children are permitted at most sites on the property (children are not permitted at the cabin or spring pool sites), we do not recommend bringing them due to occasional nudity that may be seen in the area and the degree of difficulty for the hike. In order to be prepared with the correct gear to make the hike to the hot springs and know the USFS rules that apply to the area, please educate yourself before coming by visiting the USFS website page for the Deep Creek area. Know before you go! The Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground is part of the historic Bowen Ranch property that was homesteaded in 1924 and has been the camping and parking area for the Deep Creek Hot Springs for nearly a century. This 40 acres sits on the Yuba River Ridgetop. At the "Platform of Pleasure" you will enjoy 100,000+ acre views of protected land looking North to the High Sierra, minutes away from downtown Nevada City and 15 miles from Yuba River Trailheads. Firewood bundles are $15 per bundle (2+ hours of campfire when campfires 🔥 are allowed). There is a $15.00 dog fee per dog/per stay. On our property like anywhere in the woods there are mosquitos, so you should bring bug spray. We offer a tent platform, as well as a canvas tent listing. Starry Hot Tub/Cold Plunge Glamping

Our tents are seasonal for the warmer months :) Soak in a cedar hot tub and Renu cold plunge nestled in an oak grove, then sleep in our A Frame or one of our two luxurious yurt-like tents. Venture into the clearing with open skies for truly amazing starry views at night. It's a peaceful retreat surrounded by pines and oaks, yet is still less than 15 minutes from the historic Gold Mining towns of Nevada City and Grass Valley. A composting toilet is housed in a beautiful, well maintained outhouse and a heated outdoor shower is located next to the hot tub and cold plunge. These as well as the hot tub/cold plunge area are shared between our two sites. PLEASE NOTE: While many guests have found each spot to feel private, it's important to mention that these are located in a large clearing behind our house. You'll have ample space and privacy, with the added convenience of having someone nearby if you need anything.
