DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your group will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.
Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

The Guest Cabin is your perfect escape from urban confusion and the stress of social distancing, with all amenities for a perfect getaway! We use CDC safe guidelines for cleaning your private shower, kitchenette, and bathroom, as well as a queen bed with fresh sheets under star gazers' skylights, and WiFi so you can work! Only 22 miles from downtown Los Angeles, it feels like 100 miles from civilization. 15 minutes' drive to the beach, 30 minutes to Santa Monica. We have over 70 live oaks on the property to filter the perfect air. So far from the roar of civilization, you will think you are in another world!
You will have your cabin and ample, beautiful outdoor space all to yourselves with access to hiking trails and fire roads through a private gate. You will have parking for one car directly in front of the cabin with paid parking for a second car, as we have very limited parking!
We have a wonderful variety of wildlife that lives on our property, but the presence of Coyotes and Mountain lions in the area requires me to caution bringing your own pets, as we cannot guarantee their safety! We have Bobcats and a resident Gray Fox family with daily sightings in our meadow, rumored to once be the oldest vineyard in Topanga. Owls grace the night with their call, and Red Tail Hawks ply the morning sky, but silence is our calling card considering the chaos just over the hill!

DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your group will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.
Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

We use CDC safe guidelines for cleaning your private shower, kitchenette, and bathroom, as well as a queen bed with fresh sheets under star gazers' skylights, and WiFi so you can work! Only 22 miles from downtown Los Angeles, it feels like 100 miles from civilization. 15 minutes' drive to the beach, 30 minutes to Santa Monica. We have over 70 live oaks on the property to filter the perfect air. So far from the roar of civilization, you will think you are in another world!
You will have your cabin and ample, beautiful outdoor space all to yourselves with access to hiking trails and fire roads through a private gate. You will have parking for one car directly in front of the cabin with paid parking for a second car, as we have very limited parking!
We have a wonderful variety of wildlife that lives on our property, but the presence of Coyotes and Mountain lions in the area requires me to caution bringing your own pets, as we cannot guarantee their safety! We have Bobcats and a resident Gray Fox family with daily sightings in our meadow, rumored to once be the oldest vineyard in Topanga. Owls grace the night with their call, and Red Tail Hawks ply the morning sky, but silence is our calling card considering the chaos just over the hill!

I had a lovely time at Araceli's tiny cabin! It was small but nice with very well thought out amenities. They went out of their way to be a great host which helped me feel comfortable. The cabin was located in a unique area that I would probably not have thought about visiting before, but I was very glad that I did. I would definitely consider staying again if I were to revisit the area!

Araceli is a wonderful, friendly and generous host. Her land is beautiful and provides a peaceful and relaxing place to get away and spend time with someone special, or in solitude.
Her two dogs are friendly and visit occasionally. This was a wonderful camping experience with an actual comfortable bed. There is a shower with hot water, don’t forget soap and towels.

2 nights at Hideout Mountain Lodge
The full amenities, were a plus. The fridge was great, no need for ice refills. Wifi, stove, microwave, and shower/toilet came in handy, as did the heating(40° temps). Dark sky viewing was excellent, and made viewing Jupiter and the total lunar eclipse with my telescope, amazing. Close proximity to Julian is great.

We had such a great two-night stay! The space comfortably accommodated four of us and our dog, and we never once felt cramped. Everything was thoughtfully set up and very comfortable.
The kitchen had basically everything we needed to cook meals easily, which made the stay even more relaxing. The bathroom was fantastic, and the beds were super comfortable — we all slept great both nights.
The outdoor space was just as wonderful. There was plenty of room to hang out and unwind, and having firewood provided for the campfire was such a nice bonus. It really made the evenings special.
Highly recommend this spot! Our stay honestly made me want to go out and buy a tiny home of my own. We’d absolutely come back.

The tiny home was so cute, comfy, well equipped, clean and well maintained! ♥️ I loved all the indoors modernized decor. Everything in the tiny home has a purpose, I love it! Makes you want to take pictures of everything! Loved the board games! The outside was very nice too… the fireplace in the night time is so relaxing! Only thing I’d say is consider having neighbors next door very close by if you plan to have spend time outside in the night by the fire. Our neighbors were very nice, but above all! I loved my stay at the tiny house!

The space was cute, warm, welcoming, and incredibly cozy — the perfect little Valentine’s Day getaway. I love glamping on Gordons land and come as often as possible. It is a haven, a serene and perfect slice of nature with a dash of plush (speaking specifically of the delicious bed and bedding). Laying in bed at night I can see stars through the skylights - this is a rare gem, a place to cherish, I'm so grateful Gordon shares it.

1 night at Topanga Oasis
This place is such a gem! It's so peaceful and welcoming. The place is so cute, and has everything you need to glamp. The bed is so comfy and the heater had me cozy, and bathtub is stellar! Also the rains had the creek running, and the grass was so green on the hillsides along the trails. A little slice of heaven. Thank you!
