We had a nice and relaxing weekend. Campground is nestled in a beautiful and peaceful area, and our campsite was private. We especially appreciated the nice and clean restroom and showers.

We recently spent a relaxing weekend camping at Ed’s property in Lake Elsinore, and it was exactly what we were hoping for! Booked through Hipcamp, the process was smooth and Ed was a responsive and welcoming host. The campsite itself was clean, spacious, and had stunning views of the lake and surrounding hills. We loved how peaceful and quiet the area was—perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. Whether you’re into hiking, birdwatching, or just looking to unwind under the stars, this spot is a hidden gem. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience not too far from the city!

There’s something special about Fallbrook. There are a lot more trees there than most of the rest of Southern California. Which means lots of birds. You’re greeted by a chorus of them every morning when you wake up. I got a chance to meet the hosts and they are lovely couple. Putting this campsite together seems to be a labor of love for them. Clean bathrooms, warm showers, highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Villa Macala

The camp host David was so welcoming and made it a wonderful experience! The camp site is so much more beautiful in person than the pics can even express. It’s easy access to your car and bathroom, but you feel so secluded in your own little world in this hidden gem among the trees. Gorgeous views from the site and more if you want to explore on a few trails. There’s an outlet and fresh drinking water at the site so you’re not going without. The tent pad was just big enough for my 5-person tent, you couldn’t fit any bigger. Two picnic tables under the trees for shade, a cooking fire stove then a fire pit for s’mores and hotdogs. I can’t wait to go back, a lovely place!

A beautiful way to spend a few nights down in here. The host is friendly and gives a great run down of everything I needed. If you’re looking a nice camping with a beautiful view this is the spot.

Very nice spot right on the water. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go relax and unwind near the lake.

2 nights at Rosemead 12 miles to DT Los Angeles

Its al small RV camp and not easy to find. To enter the place you have to enter a narrow road which is very steep. But there is water and electricity and the price is nice. Going to LA with a Uber is not to expensive. But if you want a easy campsite with a full hookup then you have to look elsewhere and pay a lot more.

11 nights at New Yurt City

Land access simple; even though I got stuck, management kindly change that by getting me unstuck. Much appreciated! After getting unstuck I was able to settle in for an enjoyable kickback with a night of stargazing. Definitely a place to check out so you can check back in..., and; as a bonus, they have ATV & dirt bike rental. The trails, stargazing, people and visiting dogs are a welcomed experience.

If you Love animals, nature, quiet, stars, beautiful walks, kind staff don't look an further. I had the best time. I'm coming back to stay longer . Maybe even for life. ;) animals were so friendly, people there helped me so much. Please do go.

Very cool view and peaceful. Bought s’mores stuff in the camp store. Enjoyed the fire and the stars. Quite a bit of artillery fire from the Marines in the distance but didn’t last all night. Hope to be back.

Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital.
