The land is not far from the entrance (about 15 minutes drive)You will need to bring your own little table and chairs + whatever else you wish to have there.There is no bathroom or trash on the land. Please pack everything back out with you and discard once you reach a public trash.You will enjoy over 2 acres of privacy, endless views, starry skies complete with sunrise and sunset :) (The city allows us to camp on our private vacant land only 4 nights a month, and of course does not allow short term rentals. For that reason a suggested donation of $25 per night is all that we are asking from our hipcamp community to help keep the space maintained :)

Off-leash dogs are welcome. Please clean up after them so this policy can remain in place.
Guests must bring their own water, use a self-contained toilet system (pack out all waste), and pack out all trash. Desert conditions change rapidly — wind, heat, and cold are all possible. Four-wheel drive is recommended, though many standard vehicles and RVs have accessed the property by driving slowly and carefully. If a vehicle becomes stuck, guests are responsible for arranging their own towing.
This is unfenced private land bordering public Bureau of Land Management (BLM) areas. On rare occasions, someone may mistakenly pass through assuming the land is public. This has always been resolved easily by letting them know they are on private property.
Located at the base of Copper Mountain, the property offers wildlife sightings, panoramic views, and generally good cell service despite the remote feel.

The camp is less than two hours from Los Angeles and Orange County and only 2.5 miles from the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, as well as Covington Flats and Black Rock hiking and day-use areas. It is also conveniently located between the towns of Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, with access to off-road recreation areas such as Johnson Valley OHV.
The land is home to native Joshua trees, cactus, and seasonal wildflowers, with views of rocky foothills to the south and open desert valleys to the north and east. Wildlife sightings may include jackrabbits, quail, hawks, kangaroo rats, snakes, and coyotes.
This is primitive, dry camping with no water, power, or hookups. Guests should bring their own tent and or RV, camping supplies, plenty of water, and a sense of adventure.

We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, so please take note of the following guidelines: Swimming is not permitted in the lake and there is no swimming pool available. Fishing is currently closed. Pet owners will be pleased to know that their furry friends are welcome, but there will be an additional fee added to the reservation. Wi-Fi is provided by a third-party company and a separate service fee applies. Please note that we cannot guarantee the speed, rate, or troubleshooting of the Wi-Fi service. For your convenience, a wash station for dishes is available on-site, and the Joshua Tree Laundromat is located 9 miles away in downtown Joshua Tree. For campfires, it is important to keep them contained inside the designated burn barrels and never leave them unattended. In the event of high winds, campfire, and BBQ use may be suspended for safety reasons.

Your private campsite offers a spacious area with a brand-new underground fire pit, a hammock station, and a picnic table that seats six. The pass-through driveway leads directly to your site off Sunway Drive. You’ll have 1.5 acres of land to enjoy, with plenty of room to roam and hike in the surrounding area.
You’ll have excellent cell service and a strong 5G connection, so phone calls and social media are no problem. Please be respectful of the grounds and exercise caution with campfires and smoking.
Guest Access:
There is only one way to access the site, so please follow the provided directions carefully. GPS may lead you to a route that is not vehicle-accessible. You will drive through a residential neighborhood before entering the forest property — please drive slowly and respectfully.
Other Things to Note:
Please pack out all trash. We do not provide bins to avoid attracting animals or scattering debris in the wind.
Important: You must have a self-contained toilet system and pack out all waste.
A 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, but standard cars and RVs up to 30 feet can access the site by driving slowly. Low-clearance sedans can also make it with care. Please know your vehicle’s limits.
Parking is available directly on the campsite, leading up the driveway.
We’re animal-friendly! Pets are welcome — just be sure to clean up after them to help keep the property beautiful.

Off-leash dogs are welcome. Please clean up after them so this policy can remain in place.
Guests must bring their own water, use a self-contained toilet system (pack out all waste), and pack out all trash. Desert conditions change rapidly — wind, heat, and cold are all possible. Four-wheel drive is recommended, though many standard vehicles and RVs have accessed the property by driving slowly and carefully. If a vehicle becomes stuck, guests are responsible for arranging their own towing.
This is unfenced private land bordering public Bureau of Land Management (BLM) areas. On rare occasions, someone may mistakenly pass through assuming the land is public. This has always been resolved easily by letting them know they are on private property.
Located at the base of Copper Mountain, the property offers wildlife sightings, panoramic views, and generally good cell service despite the remote feel.

Fishing is currently closed. Pet owners will be pleased to know that their furry friends are welcome, but there will be an additional fee added to the reservation. Wi-Fi is provided by a third-party company and a separate service fee applies. Please note that we cannot guarantee the speed, rate, or troubleshooting of the Wi-Fi service. For your convenience, a wash station for dishes is available on-site, and the Joshua Tree Laundromat is located 9 miles away in downtown Joshua Tree. For campfires, it is important to keep them contained inside the designated burn barrels and never leave them unattended. In the event of high winds, campfire, and BBQ use may be suspended for safety reasons.

I have a very private campsite that is off grid. There’s an outhouse with a camping toilet, a large deck to lounge and watch the sun rise or set. You can pitch a tent on the deck or on several cleared spots on the ground. JT national park is a 15 minute drive and there’s a corner mart nearby. You can use the trampoline, there’s a fire pit (bring your own firewood), and please bring your own camping chairs, water, toilet paper/wipes and you must dispose of your waste 🌞🌵🏜️

Serina's cabin near Joshua Tree was so cozy. My sister and I enjoyed our stay - taking full advantage of the deck to watch sunrise and sunset and the hot tub for nightly stargazing. A large shower and basic amenities provided. Would definitely recommend a stay at this place. One note of caution is that we got lost and there are some really rough unpaved "roads" in this area with no lighting so definitely get good directions from the host and probably best to have a high clearance/4 wheel drive vehicle and arrive during daylight.

We had a great time, and the host Joseph was responsive when we needed help locating the exact area of the camp and entry directions. I would definitely go to this campsite again to be near Joshua Tree National Park.

Nice area to camp if JTNP is all booked as was the case in my situation. Way more peaceful, private, but with the exception of seeing city lights (which wasn’t a problem). The proximity is nice and it’s far enough to feel remote without having to hike back into town for another 30-45 minutes. The platform is great, as is the fire pit. Drove to the site in my Prius.

We stayed here over the weekend with our 26-foot travel trailer and had a great experience. The campsite was clean, quiet, and very easy to access. Directions were clear and easy to follow, which made arrival stress-free.
One thing to note is that the site isn’t quite as flat as it appears in the photos, though there are a couple of level spots available that worked well for us. We even had a deer run through the site, which really added to the experience. The host was excellent—very responsive and answered questions immediately.
Overall, a great spot, and we’ll definitely be returning.

This campground is in a convenient location, right in town but just off the main drag. There is shopping nearby and easy access to Joshua Tree National Park. We are traveling during the winter so stayed 3 nights in January 2026. We were fortunate that the weather was not too chilly but did get down to about 39 most nights and bright, beautiful, sunny days around 60 for daytime exploring.
The sites were pretty level which is always nice with hookups conveniently located for water, sewer and 30 amp electrical. There was room for our Jeep Wagoneer L to park as well as plenty of room to use the portable wood fire place that they provided. It was quiet with great views right from the campsite!
We would definitely come back and stay again if our travels bring us back to this location. While we are set up for boon docking with ample batteries and solar, we are finding it much more enjoyable i.e. quiet to be in campgrounds with electricity so people are not running generators all night long. Too funny really. We're traveling from ME to FL to CA and this was one of many spectacular stops along the way.

This little cabin is great and Serina is very responsive. It was our home base for excursions into Jericho Tree National Park. Very secluded with no road noise or close neighbors and great for stargazing. We were glad to have rented an AWD SUV to navigate the unpaved roads.

It great, beautiful, good temperatures in January. I didn't have a lot of time to plan, but in the future I'll probably wild camp. There are latrines at every campsite and parking spot, and water access at the entrance to the park, so even camping in my car (outside the park) I never had to worry or plan too much for these things.

We stayed for four nights and loved it! The campground can not accommodate very large rvs, but there are a few spaces that are large enough for medium sized. We have a 27 foot trailer and to with a SUV, an we fit well. The campground is at the jumbo rocks, and on weekends the front of the campground is crowded with non campers who are exploring the rocks. Get a spot 1/2 way or farther in to avoid this. The spots have great fire pits and picnic areas. Most have terrific privacy.

Dog friendly trails at JTNP
I totally recommend JTNP. Although this wasn’t my first time visiting the park, it was my first time bringing my dog 🐕. The park has limited trails available for hiking with dogs, but this one was a lovely drive with a very short walk and a beautiful view. The weather was very pleasant, which made the experience even better.

Amazing vegetation and geology
It's hard to describe how surreal some of the landscape is. The diversity of vegetation and rock formations are amazing. If you do nothing else, drive to Keys View and take the very short walk up to the top. You will see the San Andreas Fault, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, etc. Breathtaking. You will notice the big change is vegetation and geography on the way there. Don't be hurried by the crazy, fast drivers who somehow think that it is a race to get through the park. We did a lot of pulling over to let those knuckleheads go past us. Split Rock was a good picnic spot for us. It was our second time at the park and we visited it two days in a row. SPECTACULAR!

We stayed three nights at this exceptional tent-camping spot, tucked right up against the massive megalithic granite boulders Joshua Tree National Park is famous for. The views in every direction are stunning. Indian Cove Campground offers excellent site access to climbing routes and is incredibly quiet at night, making for amazing stargazing. Just be sure to plan ahead—there is no water available at this campground.
