Please note we have different site types with different prices and capacities. Choose the type that's best for your group.
We are outside of Bear and Marmot areas, so no Bear cans needed here. However, we are not far away and nature is wild and can be unpredictable sometimes, so please keep food in your car at night as a precaution. We have not had issues and we don't want to invite any!
Hot showers, flushing toilets, deep sinks for washing and WIFI (over 70 mps in many places for you teleworkers) now available for all campers at no extra charge!
ARRIVAL:
THERE ARE 3 GATES HERE:
RIGHT GATE: just to the right of the Giant Sequoia Tree with address sign, goes to the CAMPSITES! Look for ORANGE CONES a few feet off the highway and drive down camp road about 600 feet to the camp.
MIDDLE GATE: RV1 and RV2
LEFT GATE: house, please DO NOT ENTER this gate or the house.
DIRECTIONS:
If you put our address in to navigation apps, sometimes it brings you to our neighbors (fire department) for some reason, even after multiple emails to google...if this happens come south/down hill about 600 feet and look for the ORANGE CONES on the same side of the road. Drive between them and down camp road to your site! (There is a pic of the site map in the posted pic's)
Go to Google Maps (NOT GOOGLE SEARCH). Search for Sequoia Mountain Farms Campground.
Navigator apps sometimes push folks coming from the south up the 245 highway. It is a very windy and slow climb up the hill. It is doable (even for bigger rigs), but we HIGHLY RECOMMEND continuing north on highway 99 towards Fresno and then heading east on highway 180 up the mountain. It's faster, much more scenic and a much smoother drive. This route also goes right by the nearest gas station on your way up!
Heading east on highway 180, out of Fresno, the last gas station is a Valero at 35468 E Kings Canyon Rd. (aka Clingan's Junction).
From Clingan's, head east on the 180 for exactly 13.8 miles to the 245 highway (it comes up quick with only 1 or 2 small signs), make a right, heading south. If you hit the park entrance, you went too far, turn around drive back about 5 min and look for the 245 on your left.
Once on the 245 heading south, go 5.1 miles. On your right you will pass the 'Pinehurst Lodge', which is on google maps, an easy reference point and is 1 minute or less away (great food, bar, pool table and karaoke on weekends in the summer!).
Then a few seconds later the U.S Forest Service "Work Center" is on the right and we are just past that on the same side of the road. First you will see a Giant Sequoia Tree in the front yard (campground road is just to it's right with ORANGE CONES on either side) then an apple ranch with an ole loggers cabin chimney from the late 1800s still standing in the front yard directly off the highway! If you hit the 'leaving sequoia national forest' sign and the community center, you went too far, turn around and drive 1 minute back and look for the apple ranch on your left, pass it and turn left at the ORANGE CONES.

I absolutely loved Michael's camping spot! The drive up through the valley was super easy, beautiful, and very much enjoyable. The lot itself had tons of places to put down your tent, and a great spot for a fire. I loved walking around the property and looking at the different trees nearby. Will definitely be returning for a weekend getaway.

Nacho left very clear instructions for us and it was easy to find the campground. We didn't spend a lot of time at the campsite, but it's right next to the lake and could make for a relaxing picnic plan! Campground also had a public restroom (well maintained). Location is convenient with an easy and scenic ride out to Death Valley!

Teresa was a great host! she met up with us so we wouldn't get lost getting to the property. I would say this is a great place to camp at especially if you're trying to stay local to Kings Canyon & Sequoia Ntl parks.
Didn't get to explore much of the property since we had a quick trip, but would definitely come back one day again.

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we couldn’t have asked for a better first time site than Thistledew. My husband and I, plus our two dogs, loved the site.
Some highlights:
- It was incredibly spacious, quiet, and accessible.
- We felt comfortable letting our pups off leash due to how open and spacious the site was.
- The water and electricity hookups were a total plus!
- Michael was a great host and incredibly responsive to any and all questions.
- Sequoia/Kings Canyon entrance was a short 20 min drive away, so it was a perfect site for an easy day trip.
- The views were amazing.
Some additional notes for future campers (that are not at all a negative about the site)
- We were guided by our GPS to take Dry Creek Rd. This road is narrow and not suitable for wider cars. There is however a highway that also leads to the road that connects to the site. We recommend the highway for wider vehicles or those who are anxious about narrow roads.
- Yes, there is a road that is next to the site. Cars are incredibly few and far in between. The road is also a good distance from the site so not at all a danger to off-leash pups. The site was secluded, and I wouldn’t let the road be a deterrent in booking.
- Our 2WD vehicle made it just fine to the site.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to coming back!

This campground is great! Awsome views, great location, quiet and private. There was power and water for use. Plenty of flat areas for your tent and personal camp toilet. About 15 mins from the kings canyon gate and 1hr from general sherman tree. Nearest gas station and coffee shop is about 20 minutes away.

This was such a great spot for us to find when we changed our route last minute! It was a bit wet/chilly out so we didn’t use many of the amenities but the views were GREAT. We enjoyed the quiet camp ground as we were the only campers there. Nice to have water and sewer hook ups and flush toilets. Could use a little maintenance and cleaning. The location is good for the parks. Our 27 ft trailer worked ok in the space. It’s a camp ground no lodge.

It was great! Spent the night here before waking up at the crack of down to hike Mount Whitney. Just be prepared with plenty of water since sleeping at elevation is no joke.

I don't recommend this campground AT ALL!! Me and my sister were camping with her kids I was cooking breakfast and the camp post drives up with a lady and he gets out all fast and tells us we only paid for one night when we paid for 2 nights he was extremely rude about it too. His and her communication was completely off. They completely ruined are day early in the morning, he said he would go check it out, about 10 mins go by and they go driving pass us going pretty fast. Didn't think to stop and apologize nothing. So we decided to pack up and head home a day early.

Epic location & great campground. Not suitable for large RVs and Large trailers. Potable water and vault toilets. Located right on the river, PCT and JMT at 7700ft. Fantastic fly fishing.

Beautiful camping and close to a rushing creek, easy to sleep in for sure. Tons of great hiking and a short trip down to the Alabama Hills for rock climbing. We've stayed here multiple times and can't wait to go back again.

Reversed Creek is a good central location to explore the June Lake Loop and some of the surrounding areas (such as Bodie and Virginia Lakes). This campground is much smaller than many others in the loop so you do not feel crowded. Something also to consider is this campground has shade! Many of the other campgrounds in the area are without trees and open to the elements. Book sites 16 and 7 together for a larger group! Each site is only allowed up to 6 people.

In years of heavy snowfall, water pipes and/or reservoirs may be damaged, so call ahead about water availability. Also, if Onion Valley is full, Upper and Lower Grays Meadows are about a 30 minute drive down the mountain, with good views and a short drive to all of the activities that Onion Valley has.

All you could ever want for a Sierra experience. The lake is close, the rivers are always flowing, and the air just cleans your soul. Campground has running water, toilets, bear boxes, picnic tables and fire rings.

As said previously, the photos do not reflect the campsite rather the end of the North Fork Trail that begins at the campground. Nonetheless, the campsite was beautiful and extremely peaceful. The stars at night were amazing as well! Definitely worth taking the 9 mile round trip hike for the view of the first lake as well. One of my favorite campgrounds ever.

One of the best spots in California for stargazing. We visited for one night on Labor Day. Quiet, isolated campground deep in the White Mountains with endless hiking opportunities in all directions. Sites are distanced far away enough to maintain privacy while close enough to meet your neighbors. Bathrooms are minimal but relatively clean and include toilet paper. No water, bring a lot! Also, bring bug spray and sun screen. You won't regret making the winding trek up, and you won't forget the (harrowing?) descent back into the Owens Valley. Bring your telescope and plenty of blankets!

My friends and I scored permits to hike Mount Whitney but, unfortunately, this campsite was already filled up. LUCKILY, they offer two first come, first serve sites! When we got up there on a Thursday night, the easy access first come loop was full but the Ravine first come, first serve site had spots. It is a walk in site so you will have to maneuver bringing in your gear. But, it's clean with plenty of bear boxes (use them, we had a bear trying to break into that thing every night) and a beautiful river right next to us. The only downside is that the sites are super close to each other.
But, perfect launch point if you have a day pass to hike whitney!

Sherwin has become a favorite campsite in Mammoth; we go every year at least once. We enjoy Sherwin due to its proximity to the Village and that it is still peaceful. Most sites at Sherwin are walk-ups so if you bring a lot of supplies camping this might not be your spot. Also this campground does not have showers available; and if you go during motocross weekend be prepared for more traffic near this campground and a few rumbling engines driving by. However, you can fish at the creeks right in your campsites; and if you find yourself partaking in the events the Village puts on or venturing to the top of mountain this is the ideal campsite.
