The surrounding area offers no shortage of nearby highlights, including Shaver Lake, the giant sequoias of McKinley Grove, the trails and swimming holes of the Dinky Creek Wilderness, year-round recreation at China Peak, and day trips to Yosemite, Sierra, and Kings Canyon National Parks, home to the General Sherman Tree. Many guests, however, find the waterfalls, forest, and dark skies here more than enough to fill their stay. Spend your days swimming in natural pools, stargazing through our shared telescope, or resting in a hammock beneath towering cedars. We use controlled burning, hands-on fuel reduction, selective native plant culling, and encourage the land to regenerate naturally. Just as important, we believe sharing the land is essential, because stewardship only lasts when people are connected to it. This is a rugged mountain property. Terrain can be steep, rocks near the creek are often slick, and nights are very dark. Campers should be prepared for off grid camping and up for adventure!

There are 33 giant sequoia groves in our Southern Region of the Giant Sequoia National Monument, some easily driven to, and some remote. River Ridge Institute, our non-profit, hosts a variety of events for the public.
Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you.

We had an awesome stay at Lakeshore Resort. They just opened for the season on Memorial weekend. We have a class A 30' RV. Our rig fit fine in Site #9. Easy back-in. Road up to the site a bit bumpy so take is slow. Check-in is at the general store, which is huge and has a lot to offer. Lev at the store is very friendly as the rest of the staff managing the resort. Aaron, camp host, is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell he loves his job. Walking trail from campsite along the creek and down to the lake.
Owner is putting a lot of work into the resort. Check out their website to see what the plan is. Looking forward to seeing it complete! Expect some construction, but that didn't deter us from having a relaxing time. Camp bathroom and showers were clean.
Saloon and restaurant just opened for the season as well. Friendly staff and yummy food!

I don't recommend this campground AT ALL!! Me and my sister were camping with her kids I was cooking breakfast and the camp post drives up with a lady and he gets out all fast and tells us we only paid for one night when we paid for 2 nights he was extremely rude about it too. His and her communication was completely off. They completely ruined are day early in the morning, he said he would go check it out, about 10 mins go by and they go driving pass us going pretty fast. Didn't think to stop and apologize nothing. So we decided to pack up and head home a day early.

Beautiful camping and close to a rushing creek, easy to sleep in for sure. Tons of great hiking and a short trip down to the Alabama Hills for rock climbing. We've stayed here multiple times and can't wait to go back again.

Reversed Creek is a good central location to explore the June Lake Loop and some of the surrounding areas (such as Bodie and Virginia Lakes). This campground is much smaller than many others in the loop so you do not feel crowded. Something also to consider is this campground has shade! Many of the other campgrounds in the area are without trees and open to the elements. Book sites 16 and 7 together for a larger group! Each site is only allowed up to 6 people.

In years of heavy snowfall, water pipes and/or reservoirs may be damaged, so call ahead about water availability. Also, if Onion Valley is full, Upper and Lower Grays Meadows are about a 30 minute drive down the mountain, with good views and a short drive to all of the activities that Onion Valley has.

All you could ever want for a Sierra experience. The lake is close, the rivers are always flowing, and the air just cleans your soul. Campground has running water, toilets, bear boxes, picnic tables and fire rings.

As said previously, the photos do not reflect the campsite rather the end of the North Fork Trail that begins at the campground. Nonetheless, the campsite was beautiful and extremely peaceful. The stars at night were amazing as well! Definitely worth taking the 9 mile round trip hike for the view of the first lake as well. One of my favorite campgrounds ever.

One of the best spots in California for stargazing. We visited for one night on Labor Day. Quiet, isolated campground deep in the White Mountains with endless hiking opportunities in all directions. Sites are distanced far away enough to maintain privacy while close enough to meet your neighbors. Bathrooms are minimal but relatively clean and include toilet paper. No water, bring a lot! Also, bring bug spray and sun screen. You won't regret making the winding trek up, and you won't forget the (harrowing?) descent back into the Owens Valley.
