The land was purchased from the railroad in 1908 by Grandpa Coen when he immigrated to the USA after his service to the British Empire during WW1.
Grandpa established and maintained the vineyards during his life in California's Central Valley which he left to his daughter, Irene. She kept the farming tradition going with her husband, Al, and they expanded by purchasing surrounding land and planting more vines. Today their daughter, Cheryl, and son-in-law Rand continue the family farming tradition for the next century.

Please note we have different site types with different prices and capacities. Choose the type that's best for your group.
We are outside of Bear and Marmot areas, so no Bear cans needed here. However, we are not far away and nature is wild and can be unpredictable sometimes, so please keep food in your car at night as a precaution. We have not had issues and we don't want to invite any!
Hot showers, flushing toilets, deep sinks for washing and WIFI (over 70 mps in many places for you teleworkers) now available for all campers at no extra charge!
ARRIVAL:
THERE ARE 3 GATES HERE:
RIGHT GATE: just to the right of the Giant Sequoia Tree with address sign, goes to the CAMPSITES! Look for ORANGE CONES a few feet off the highway and drive down camp road about 600 feet to the camp.
MIDDLE GATE: RV1 and RV2
LEFT GATE: house, please DO NOT ENTER this gate or the house.
DIRECTIONS:
If you put our address in to navigation apps, sometimes it brings you to our neighbors (fire department) for some reason, even after multiple emails to google...if this happens come south/down hill about 600 feet and look for the ORANGE CONES on the same side of the road. Drive between them and down camp road to your site! (There is a pic of the site map in the posted pic's)
Go to Google Maps (NOT GOOGLE SEARCH). Search for Sequoia Mountain Farms Campground.
Navigator apps sometimes push folks coming from the south up the 245 highway. It is a very windy and slow climb up the hill. It is doable (even for bigger rigs), but we HIGHLY RECOMMEND continuing north on highway 99 towards Fresno and then heading east on highway 180 up the mountain. It's faster, much more scenic and a much smoother drive. This route also goes right by the nearest gas station on your way up!
Heading east on highway 180, out of Fresno, the last gas station is a Valero at 35468 E Kings Canyon Rd. (aka Clingan's Junction).
From Clingan's, head east on the 180 for exactly 13.8 miles to the 245 highway (it comes up quick with only 1 or 2 small signs), make a right, heading south. If you hit the park entrance, you went too far, turn around drive back about 5 min and look for the 245 on your left.
Once on the 245 heading south, go 5.1 miles. On your right you will pass the 'Pinehurst Lodge', which is on google maps, an easy reference point and is 1 minute or less away (great food, bar, pool table and karaoke on weekends in the summer!).
Then a few seconds later the U.S Forest Service "Work Center" is on the right and we are just past that on the same side of the road. First you will see a Giant Sequoia Tree in the front yard (campground road is just to it's right with ORANGE CONES on either side) then an apple ranch with an ole loggers cabin chimney from the late 1800s still standing in the front yard directly off the highway! If you hit the 'leaving sequoia national forest' sign and the community center, you went too far, turn around and drive 1 minute back and look for the apple ranch on your left, pass it and turn left at the ORANGE CONES.

Nestled along the edge of the Sierra National Forest, this hidden retreat blends adventure, comfort, and sustainability. The surrounding area offers no shortage of nearby highlights, including Shaver Lake, the giant sequoias of McKinley Grove, the trails and swimming holes of the Dinky Creek Wilderness, year-round recreation at China Peak, and day trips to Yosemite, Sierra, and Kings Canyon National Parks, home to the General Sherman Tree. Many guests, however, find the waterfalls, forest, and dark skies here more than enough to fill their stay. Spend your days swimming in natural pools, stargazing through our shared telescope, or resting in a hammock beneath towering cedars. Dogs are welcome to roam off-leash under supervision, and the open terrain keeps tails busy. Guests explore private trails, try their hand at gold panning, scramble granite boulders, or borrow a free kayak for nearby Shaver Lake. Rugged yet accessible (4×4 helpful in winter), Musick Creek Falls offers pristine camping, mountain views, and exceptionally clear night skies. Four secluded sites keep a light footprint on the land and include composting toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. Our conservation ethos is guided by the original caretakers of this region—the Nüümü, known today as the Mono or Potuck people. Rather than relying on massive machine-cut firebreaks, aerial pesticide spraying, or “pines in lines” replanting, we take a slower, place-based approach. We use controlled burning, hands-on fuel reduction, selective native plant culling, and encourage the land to regenerate naturally. Just as important, we believe sharing the land is essential, because stewardship only lasts when people are connected to it. This is a rugged mountain property. Terrain can be steep, rocks near the creek are often slick, and nights are very dark. Campers should be prepared for off grid camping and up for adventure!

Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you.
Enjoy: The Kitchen has a 3-burner cooktop, large fridge, microwave, full dishes and utensils and pots and pans with a big washing area in the back. Propane barbecue grill.. Ancestral land of the Foothill Yokuts tribe. Homesteaded in 1859, owned by the Negus family from 1909-2000. Barbara and I bought it to save it from subdivision and it's now protected by a Conservation Easement and acts as a community center for the arts, music, poetry, gatherings and outdoor education. Please note we have different site types with different prices and capacities. Choose the type that's best for your group.
We are outside of Bear and Marmot areas, so no Bear cans needed here. However, we are not far away and nature is wild and can be unpredictable sometimes, so please keep food in your car at night as a precaution. We have not had issues and we don't want to invite any!
Hot showers, flushing toilets, deep sinks for washing and WIFI (over 70 mps in many places for you teleworkers) now available for all campers at no extra charge!
ARRIVAL:
THERE ARE 3 GATES HERE:
RIGHT GATE: just to the right of the Giant Sequoia Tree with address sign, goes to the CAMPSITES! Look for ORANGE CONES a few feet off the highway and drive down camp road about 600 feet to the camp.
MIDDLE GATE: RV1 and RV2
LEFT GATE: house, please DO NOT ENTER this gate or the house.
DIRECTIONS:
If you put our address in to navigation apps, sometimes it brings you to our neighbors (fire department) for some reason, even after multiple emails to google...if this happens come south/down hill about 600 feet and look for the ORANGE CONES on the same side of the road. Drive between them and down camp road to your site! (There is a pic of the site map in the posted pic's)
Go to Google Maps (NOT GOOGLE SEARCH). Search for Sequoia Mountain Farms Campground.
Navigator apps sometimes push folks coming from the south up the 245 highway. It is a very windy and slow climb up the hill. It is doable (even for bigger rigs), but we HIGHLY RECOMMEND continuing north on highway 99 towards Fresno and then heading east on highway 180 up the mountain. It's faster, much more scenic and a much smoother drive. This route also goes right by the nearest gas station on your way up!
Heading east on highway 180, out of Fresno, the last gas station is a Valero at 35468 E Kings Canyon Rd. (aka Clingan's Junction).
From Clingan's, head east on the 180 for exactly 13.8 miles to the 245 highway (it comes up quick with only 1 or 2 small signs), make a right, heading south. If you hit the park entrance, you went too far, turn around drive back about 5 min and look for the 245 on your left.
Once on the 245 heading south, go 5.1 miles. On your right you will pass the 'Pinehurst Lodge', which is on google maps, an easy reference point and is 1 minute or less away (great food, bar, pool table and karaoke on weekends in the summer!).
Then a few seconds later the U.S Forest Service "Work Center" is on the right and we are just past that on the same side of the road. First you will see a Giant Sequoia Tree in the front yard (campground road is just to it's right with ORANGE CONES on either side) then an apple ranch with an ole loggers cabin chimney from the late 1800s still standing in the front yard directly off the highway! If you hit the 'leaving sequoia national forest' sign and the community center, you went too far, turn around and drive 1 minute back and look for the apple ranch on your left, pass it and turn left at the ORANGE CONES.

Loved camping on this site, the hosts were kind enough to provide a lamp for us to turn on and off as we like. Tons of space to place a tent and lots of space to dig for using the restroom as well. When going up to the ranch to dispose our trash it was beautiful and the trash cans were very easy to find. There was also a little faucet that they provided on site as well which was a nice surprise. Overall great experience and would come back! Thank you Michael!

I stayed at the Upper Falls campsite with my dog. I was the only camper there that night, so I explored the other campsites, and all of them are really nice. I think my favorites might have been the lower falls site and the one right below upper falls. Shandie was very approachable, shared local info, and even offered for me to switch to a different campsite if I wanted, since all were available, but I was fine staying at Upper Falls and it is a great site also.

My daughter wanted to go camping for spring break and I wanted to take her up to where I used to go camping as a kid. I am so grateful that we found Musick Creek Falls, this place is magical. It is fairly easy to find thanks to the great directions and the signage at the site. The entire campground is laid out really well with the spring and toilet easily accessible.
The water falls and the pools are really great. My wife was a bit worried about the sound, but it wasn't too loud and acted like a nice white noise. Our dogs had a blast exploring and jumping in the water. The views of the valley and the night sky are fantastic.
This place really made for a special experience for my daughter and our family, this is what helps encourage her to want to camp more. While we didn't have the pleasure of meeting the hosts, they did call to check in with us which was great. We will certainly keep this on our short list of favorite camps to come back to.

I had an incredible stay at Musick Creek Falls by Shaver Lake for my birthday weekend, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The campsite itself is something special—the waterfall right next to us was absolutely stunning and made the entire stay feel peaceful and unique. Waking up to that sound and having such a beautiful, private setting was exactly what we were hoping for.
The views around the campground are amazing, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into maintaining both the natural beauty and the comfort of the space. Everything felt clean, well cared for, and thoughtfully set up, which made it easy to just relax and enjoy the weekend.
What really made the trip stand out, though, was the host. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. From being responsive to making sure everything was perfect for our stay, their hospitality made a big difference and didn’t go unnoticed.
If you’re looking for a private, scenic getaway with a unique natural feature like a waterfall right at your site, this place is hard to beat. I’d absolutely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable camping experience.

This is a relatively small Hipcamp and probably best for vans and tent campers, although there may be room near the owner’s home for a larger rig. Located in a pretty setting. There is major adjacent road traffic, although who cares when you’re a tired camper. Need to be self-contained in terms of toileting. Owner friendly and non-intrusive. Lots of birds for the birdwatchers. Wonderful frog chorus at night.

This spot near Shaver Lake was an absolute vibe. The sound of the waterfall nearby made the whole place feel peaceful and secluded, and it’s the kind of campsite where you can really disconnect and just enjoy nature. The area was clean, easy to access, and had great scenery all around.
I stayed during cooler weather, but I can already tell this place would be incredible in the summertime when everything is greener and the water is flowing strong. It feels like the perfect spot to relax, explore, and spend time outdoors.
Definitely a place I’d return to again. Huge thanks to the host for sharing such a beautiful location.
