1 night at Sleep Up High In A Redwood Tree-net

First time experiencing a tree net. Cool and unique experience with three teenagers and husband. Not large rural property but felt private enough enclosed within the ring of redwoods on Louis’s property in the residential neighborhood for hanging with family for evening games and sleep. Neighborhood is across the main street from large, beautiful open space for exploring. Check out trails on AllTrails in San Geronimo, like Roy’s Redwoods for ideas. Didn’t go far but leaves much to explore on a future visit. We had come from a day at the beach and dinner in Stinson. Great sleepover stop before heading home toward Sacramento the next day. Louis is friendly and helpful. Great stay. Thx Louis for sharing your space and making a special trip with teens possible.

Denise and Doug are lovely people. We had the most magical time on their land. We really would love to come back in the future. The water on side is very fresh from the well and drinkable. The redwood trees are magical. I also bought fresh eggs from Denise from their happy chickens. The drive to the property is windy but easy .Definitely recommend this place.❤️

Weekend Trip to #2 HMB Highway Overnight Rest Stop

Cynthia was very nice and accommodating. Right off the highway, next to a beautiful field of calla lilies and nearby horses, you could hear the surf occasionally pounding, passing cars once in a while. So close to main Half Moon Bay shopping center, it's a great deal. Definitely use her directions, may be hard to find, but we just made a u-turn and got in the second time around.

Weekend Trip to Silicon Valley View

We stayed for one night at Site #1, and definitely glad we chose it as it felt private enough for our 2 watchful dogs to be relaxed and at ease. The view was amazing and even better at night! The rented fire pit coming with the gas tank was much appreciated. Our only concern was the portable toilet station - the handwashing station wasn't functioning. Luckily we had wipes and soap so it was not too big a deal. Overall worth the bumpy ride over and we'd love to book the site again in the future!

Weekend Trip to Sonoma Country Landing

Sonoma Country Landing is in the heart of wine country. The site is very close to level. The environment is beautiful and serene surrounded by a garden, a field and vineyards with the only noise from a rooster. Note: there are two water spigots. Be sure to use the one with the green hose permanently attached, it is potable. Be sure to fill up on fuel, the closest service stations I could find were about 15 miles away. Mary is a very attentive and welcoming host and made sure I knew how to handle the power and water connections. If you like a quiet campsite this place is for you.

Weekend Trip to Amaya Creek Redwood Campground

We loved car camping on Jane's land. The sites are well cared-for and, while not entirely private, spaced far enough apart for a peaceful experience. We easily found our site using the directions in the listing and met a few other friendly campers walking along the road. The bathrooms are well-kept and near a very cool old amphitheater space. Lots of Stellar's Jays, dark-eyed juncos, and most exciting to me was the abundance of native Pacific blackberry. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone in the area.

Weekend Trip to Felton Open Space Camp Sites

Wonderful sites with shade overlooking the mountain forests. Wine tasting on-site was above and beyond and reasonably priced. Walking distance to main street and the best forest trail in the world. John is a super host and I hope to have his life someday. We will be back with friends!

Weekend Trip to Patchen Christmas Tree Farm

The trees were cool and smelled great. Water was very close by the giant wreath. Large chorus of frogs nearby hung around most of the night. They did have a larger dog that came sniffing around our tent quite a few times, and a neighbor’s dog (I presume) that barked a fair bit in the evening. Trucks/cars will come in on a road next to the tent campsite once the workday begins in the morning, so if you’re a late and light sleeper, maybe not a great choice. Overall, solid, and felt safe!

2 nights at Sonoma Country Landing

Oh! What a perfect stay and I wish I could have stayed longer (or even forever!). Mary is so lucky to live on this property. The sounds of nature outside and the star-lit skies above were magical every day. The location makes it easy to explore Sonoma, Napa and beyond. There are wineries very close (you could walk!) and a dinette nearby, too. It only takes minutes to get into Sonoma. Power and water worked perfectly. Clear sky for Starlink if you need to work (a little!) remotely.

We had a great experience on John's land, camping as a group of friends and we booked the 6 spaces under the trees. John and Bodie (the awesome dog) were very friendly and welcoming and even offered to build us a contained fire at the winery since the fire ban was in effect. The space is quiet and peaceful with plenty wildlife and gorgeous views. The trees provided nice shade and shelter from the occasional rain. Highly recommend!

Place is as described — good spot to pitch a few tents and have a fire. It was a bit loud from animals at night and in the morning, including a dog barking frequently and roosters crowing at dawn (which definitely has its charm!) The toilet is a simple bucket with a privacy / weatherproof tent over it. Laurel was helpful and responded to my messages. Would stay again!

Be sure to follow our directions to bypass the road closure! There is no cell phone service in some areas. PLEASE NOTE, we do not have a trash service for the campground, we require all campers to PACK OUT THEIR TRASH with them! We have 40 acres of redwood forest and two creeks running through including the Amaya Creek which serves the boundary of our property at the end of Amayak Creek Trail. There’s also a small waterfall off the Amaya Creek Trail, but it may dry out during the summer. Enjoy hiking, creeks and small waterfall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more. Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 FREE hot water shower, utility shed with sink and hot water, and an outdoor amphitheater. The kitchen and washer/dryer is Staff Only not for campers. . Most campsites allow 4-6 guests maximum with 1 car included in the nightly rate. Each additional vehicle is $15 per day and will be added at checkout once you add the correct number of vehicles you will be bringing. Pets are $10 per day, 1 pet per group ONLY. Please add this as an extra at the time of booking, you will see the option to add extras once you begin the checkout process. Dogs must be on leash at all times! Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.
