Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Easy access to the highway, beautiful neighboorhood, the camping location is on the property far enough where you can forget your so close to amenties for a moment. The pond is lovely, the space is very usable, and well managed, I was impressed at the lack of active foxtail growth. I look forward to coming back in the future with family and friends. Our dog loved it, though keep an eye out for ticks, you are in tick country, so inspect everyone regularly. There are so many wonderful little spots to sit and enjoy the fresh air and the perfume of the trees. It truly is a little slice of paradise, perfect for kids, families, friends, and pets. I saw what looked like blackberries and raspberries growing wild among the trees, many of which were olives (as you would expect). There will be some natural wildlife, so be mindful of leaving out food, manage your trash, and enjoy this wonderful refuge for the soul.

Olive Farm Camp was a perfect last minute getaway. Only a 40 minute drive from our home in Oakland, but secluded and peaceful enough to feel like we got off the grid for a night. The grounds are lovely and the way the land is situated, you can’t see any roads or buildings, so it feels like you’re isolated there. We parked our truck under a beautiful oak tree, which gave us plenty of shade. We also brought our dog, who loved hunting ground squirrels (there are lots on the property) and swimming in the pond.

There’s a ton of great things to name about the Olive Farm camp. What I and my family loved most was that you have a lot of land to yourself and it is quiet most of the time; we did hear planes overhead, voices from nearby houses, and the occasional staff that we saw, but other than that it was very nice. I will say that this spot is not for those who want hardcore wilderness, as you will not be as immersed into the wilderness as you would be deeper into the woods. We did see deer (when it was quiet) and lots of hawks and vultures. There was a lot of trash left by prior campers that I picked up, and was not particularly happy to see that. Not the owners fault, but it is something to note. As well as the fact that the photos listed for Olive Farm Camp are a bit dated and some of the amenities are not the same as it is now as of June 2025. There was a missing flipper for the kayak oar and the wood for the boat looked worse for wear. The handle bars for the dock were also loose. However, I still enjoyed thoroughly the massive pond as it was beautiful to walk to in the mornings and see at night. All to yourself. The bathrooms are two porta-potties (there being two is very nice) and they were very very clean and smelled great when we found them. No matter what time of year you go, bring plenty of warm clothes and blankets for the night. You will get cold, especially if there is wind. Overall, this is a great spot for families and large groups especially.

Great place for some relaxation after spending the day in SF or around the charming town of Livermore. Directions were easy. The spots were large and well marked and flat!! Nice bathroom as well as an outdoor shower (amazing! Just don’t expect strong water pressure- the experience itself was worth it). There’s a nice community area to grill and sit under the stars. Adorable goats and ducks sing in the backdrop. Picnic tables at every spot as well. Wi-Fi access! Great Hipcamp and location. My only tip got anyone visiting with a tent is be prepared for wind and to tie down or buffer the tent well. This isn’t a reflection on the ranch just on the weather in general in the area! The wind gusts can get pretty hardcore. Would def visit again if I’m in the area.

This was a wonderful spot to stay for my first solo campout! It is a little less secluded than I had expected, but that wasn’t an issue for me personally. I would highly recommend bringing a table if you plan to cook! The tree net was beautiful and the perfect spot to hangout in the trees and relax:) The host was also wonderfully communicative and made sure I was prepared for my stay.

I had a lovely time camping at John's vineyard in Felton. It's incredibly quiet and serene, and very close to businesses Highway 9 and Graham Hill Road so I can bike to coffee (Mountain Roasters), J&M Sourdough Bagels (yum!), and dinner at Empire Grille (a long time favorite). It's a quick trip into Santa Cruz from Felton and gives you a nice headstart on weekend beach and boardwalk traffic coming from the Bay Area. You'll see wildlife like deer, turkeys, and quail. Ticks are easy enough to avoid if you stay on the gravel roads, but bring bug repellant for the mosquitos. I was gone during the day, but I would have loved to check out the wine and cider tastings during business hours at the winery. I'll try for this on another visit (and I will be back). This rustic location is ideal for boondocking, but John keeps the bathroom at the winery (about a 300 yard walk from the camping area) open overnight for tent campers.

Welcome to the Amaya Creek Redwood Campground! We are deep in the Santa Cruz mountains and it’s rustic so be prepared! The road is all paved but it can be narrow, bumpy and steep in some areas. Be sure to follow our directions to bypass the road closure! There is no cell phone service in some areas. PLEASE NOTE, we do not have a trash service for the campground, we require all campers to PACK OUT THEIR TRASH with them! We have 40 acres of redwood forest and two creeks running through including the Amaya Creek which serves the boundary of our property at the end of Amayak Creek Trail. There’s also a small waterfall off the Amaya Creek Trail, but it may dry out during the summer. Enjoy hiking, creeks and small waterfall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more. Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 FREE hot water shower, utility shed with sink and hot water, and an outdoor amphitheater. The kitchen and washer/dryer is Staff Only not for campers. . Most campsites allow 4-6 guests maximum with 1 car included in the nightly rate. Each additional vehicle is $15 per day and will be added at checkout once you add the correct number of vehicles you will be bringing. Pets are $10 per day, 1 pet per group ONLY. Please add this as an extra at the time of booking, you will see the option to add extras once you begin the checkout process. Dogs must be on leash at all times! Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. No drugs of any kind including marijuana allowed. No loud music allowed. This is a private property so no visitors are allowed, only paid guests.
