PEACEFUL REDWOOD LANDING
My friends and I just returned from our two week socal to norcal camping trip. On our way up, we stayed at Doug and Denise's property, which exceeded all of our expectations. Doug & Denise and their son were the best hosts. We will definitely be returning in the future, hopefully for a longer stay. Thank you, Doug & Denise, for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful property with us!

Creek Site
Great campsite, but no campfire
Great place in the middle of the woods and near a creek. The site is extremely private. Potable water is about 15-20 min walk up the hill. Creek water 5 min down the hill. Hosts have been very friendly and professional. The site says Campfire is allowed, but that is a bit misleading. I stayed for 2 nights at the end of June, on the first night, the hosts said it was too windy ( we had a light breeze in the afternoon, not in the evening). The second night was 0 wind, and I was still not allowed to make fire. So don't count on making fire anywhere in summer. The hosts had a traumatic experience at the CZU fire 4 years ago and thus are extremely stressed about having campfires at their property - very understandable. You are not allowed to bring your own firewood, you have to buy it for 20$ from the hosts. I guess it is more for the host to control if you obey their rules. That said, the only negative aspect is the lack of a campfire. Otherwise, the site is about as good as it can get for being so close to the Bay Area. It has space for at least three tents.

Creek Site
An absolute gem of a site. This is the most private, removed glamping experience ive ever had and second in intimacy only to multiday bushwalks in nee zealand and australia. Theres a private creek the likes of which people throng to by the hundreds when made public. Youll have it all to yourself. Denise and Doug are beyond hospitable and nice. We felt like we made new friends and would definitely like to go back.

PEACEFUL REDWOOD LANDING
Serene Privacy in Santa Cruz Mtns
A lovely spot in the Santa Cruz Mountains! We stayed at the Redwood campsite with a 27 foot rv. It was quiet, completely private, and surrounded by magnificent trees. You can walk down to the creek at the bottom of the ravine, but bring your hikers or sturdy athletic shoes - the last bit is very steep. Denise was a great host and met us on arrival.

PEACEFUL REDWOOD LANDING
Camping in the redwoods
Pros: Doug and his family are great hosts. Good communication. Friendly people. Location is amazing. The place is in the forest and surrounded by trees. It feels far removed. Cons: When we were there the logging companies had the chainsaws fired up between 6-6:30am (the mountains are loaded with redwood). Luckily, they are probably 2-4 miles away from the camp but you can hear them. Not super loud, but its there.
