PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION: Hello all! If you're looking for some glamping with creature comforts, while just being 10 minutes away from restaurants. This is the place for you. We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, trampolines (kids only), and hammocks. Our check in window is strict: 3-6pm. Only later check in is allowed if discussed previously with host. There is no cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). THERE IS A 2-3 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area. CAMPGROUND GUIDELINES -Pack out your trash. -Rinse feet before using the pool. -No pool toys or floaties. -Always supervise kids. -Don’t sit on chair edges or pool cover box. -Use stumps or your own table for cooking (not ours). -Keep the area clean—no food scraps on the ground. -No dogs in the pool area; leashes and cleanup required. -No eating in rooms or cabin. -Check out at the deck. -No smoking (vapes only, away from common areas). -Propane grills only: no open flames or campfires or charcoal. Site 1 is private and has a great view of the sky and trees. Great for solo travelers! Fits a 3-4 person tent, maybe a little bigger. Has a nice view of the main house! A small wagon to bring some stuff is recommended. PLEASE NOTE: The site is a short 2 MINUTE WALK from the parking area. It is also a downhill (not steep). Given the walk, persons who suffer from disabilities or are elderly are not recommended to stay in this site.  RULES: Pack your trash. Rinse your feet before entering the pool. Oak tree campsite has fresh, soft dirt for your tents! The site has 3 levels, the first level can fit a 4-5 person tent max to have enough space free space for other things. PLEASE NOTE: The site is a short 2 MINUTE WALK from the parking area. It is also a downhill (not steep). Given the walk, persons who suffer from disabilities or are elderly are not recommended to stay in this site.  All campers have free access to: The pool, trampolines, hammocks. Dogs are not allowed by the pool. FREE coffee in the mornings made by my mom! A small wagon to help bring your things is recommended as well!  The restroom is by the parking area. 11 minute drive from local shopping centers and restaurants! Pack your trash. Site 3 is a 2 MINUTE HIKE FROM PARKING and can comfortably accommodate one one 4 person tent is enough on a mostly level area. Please note that the ground isn't very flat, kind of a slope (we will be renovating it), so plan accordingly. The site offers a beautiful view of the surrounding redwoods. RULES: Pack your trash. Rinse your feet before entering the pool. No floaties and pool toys of any type allowed. Do not leave children unsupervised. Do not sit on the edge of the reclinable chairs. One of my favorite sites! Site 2 is spacious with nice fresh dirt to pitch your tent on! This site is a 2 MINUTE HIKE from the parking. A small wagon is recommended. RULES: Pack your trash. 1-2 PERSON TENTS ONLY. Anything bigger would not be comfortable. It is one of the furthest sites from the parking (3 MINUTE HIKE), but is private, cozy, secluded and quiet. 1 person is most comfortable here or a minimalist 2 person group. A new site! It is to the left of Poolside 1. Site 3 of Poolside campsites is large with lots of space. There is a private road nearby so there may be occasional noise. The site has easy pool access! The Rustic Cabin has a queen sized bed as well as a loft above it for KIDS ONLY. It is equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. The restroom is SHARED between all campers on the property. There is just a very short walk to the pool. Amenities provided are as follows: Pool, hammocks, Trampoline (kids only), Zip Line, Deck and View Area, Pool chairs and umbrellas. Only lodgers at the Rustic Cabin have access to Wifi. Coffee in the morning as well!  Pack your trash. Rinse your feet before entering the pool. No floaties and pool toys of any type allowed. Site 6 - Redwood Paradise
Beautiful, serene property with fun for my 5 year old kiddo (and other kiddos there). Check in was easy, everything was as it was described on the listing. Hot shower was a welcome amenity. the pool was chilly and refreshing after a hot August day at the Boardwalk.

Very beautiful scenery. Just make sure to pack light and bring a foldable wagon to carry stuff to the campsite, since parking is not near some of the campsites. Other than that, it gives the feeling of being secluded in the forest.

The camp was so lovely, and Ruth was an excellent host! The sites are somewhat close to each other, but it wasn’t an issue at all during our stay. There being both a shower and a sink was great, and you really are right among redwood trees. We missed the pool, but it looked lovely!

Site 5 - Redwood Paradise
From the moment we arrived at Ruth's property, we were in awe of the majestic coastal redwoods. Ruth was an incredible host—we loved hearing her passionate stories about the land and Santa Cruz, and she treated us to the most amazing Peruvian coffee. The pool, trampolines, and other facilities far exceeded our expectations. Our campsite was adorable and wonderfully secluded, making it feel like we had the entire forest to ourselves. A truly magical stay!

This Hipcamp has very welcoming and chill vibes! Ruth made coffee for us in the morning and we got great food recommendations. Seeing the stars through the trees at night was such a unique way to visit Santa Cruz as someone who primarily spent childhood summers crammed in a noisy boardwalk hotel. If you like camping with the convenience of a real bathroom and a pool, this is the place!

This is a peaceful retreat surrounded by tall redwoods. Every camp site is very private. Ruth is very hospitable and prepares a pot of Peruvian coffee every morning. The pool is clean. If you have kids, they will love the trampolines!

I loved tent camping at Marshall and Ruth’s! They were very kind and welcomed us to the site. The pool was great and the bathroom/shower was clean, modern, and accessible! The ‘hikes’ to each site were easy and spacious.

Great entry point to overnight camping! So many amenities to making tent camping so accessible, bathroom and shower available , and most importantly with a hot cup of peruvian coffee in the morning. :) Got to enjoy dipping our toes in their pool, got some cardio time on the trampoline, my 15 yr old son tempted fate on their zipline (though to their defense, they don't advertise this activity due to the risks involved) but thankfully came away unscathed! Honestly after reading some of the reviews, we were not sure how it would all go, especially with the repeated comments about all the rules and restrictions. However, my experience was quite the opposite, we enjoyed every encounter we had with the host. Yes there were many signs up, but we appreciated knowing the rules and that gave us the freedom to do as we please while knowing how to respect their property. One small caveat is if you are used to real camping, i.e., campfires or being truly isolated in nature, this might not be the place for you. Highly recommended for a relaxing good time!

Ruth and her son were great host and made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the stay. The camp (Site 6) itself is great for beginners who want the camping experience but also need access to clean restrooms and shower. We couldn’t do a campfire or cook at our campsite but that was already highlighted in the listing.

We enjoyed a weekend getaway amongst the redwoods here. The house is nestled back in a neighborhood so that you feel quite secluded in the trees - very peaceful. Ruth and her son were gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome. All around a wonderful weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

What a fantastic camping experience! We stayed at a poolside spot that managed to feel incredibly private while still giving us instant access to the pool. The location is great—peaceful and tucked away, yet just a short drive from nearby towns. A huge thank you to Ruth and Marshal for their amazing hospitality. If you're looking for a quiet weekend to disconnect and recharge, this is the place to be!

We were just looking for a place to camp and all the state parks were full. So we decided to look online and stumbled across this amazing sanctuary. The hosts are so friendly and inviting always with a smile on their face. You can tell that they truly enjoy what they do. With all the amenities and the phenomenal experience that we had, I would recommend them highly over anyone else.

Nice private tent site that feels like you are in the redwood forest. Great accommodations of flush toilet, hot shower, pool, hammocks and games available. Hosts are very welcoming and attentive. Do note that the site is actually a small hike from the parking area so packing light and only essentials recommended.

This was a really beautiful spot. Lots of redwoods and great amenities. Nice people and a positive vibe. Would recommend. Bit if a hike to campsite 3 and the grade of the clearing was kinda steep but other than those two things it was really nice.

We loved staying at Ruth's place! Directions for reaching their place were easy to follow, and it's only a 10-20min drive away from neighboring cities if you want food/supplies. Ruth, Marshall, and Snoopy were so welcoming and kind to us and our dog, and showed us around when we arrived. Just bring a wagon/barrow to move your stuff during the walk to the site, and you'll quickly find a beautiful, quiet spot hidden in the redwoods. Ruth also offered us fresh coffee at the deck in the mornings to start our day with. We'd love to come back in the future, and highly recommend their sites if you're looking to camp in the area.

Site 2 - Poolside Campsite
Ruth and Marshall were both great hosts! They were responsive to messages prior to arrival and were friendly and accommodating during our visit. When booking, I wondered if the pool would be visible from our campsite, but I was glad to find that it was very nice and private (a bit removed from the common areas and surrounded by trees). We loved the zipline and hammocks.

Beautiful site! Drive down is relaxing and the peace and quiet is something you can’t beat! There is an enjoyable common area with very nicely placed hammocks that allow you to observe the redwoods and enjoy what they offer! Would recommend this spot!

Site 1 - Redwood Paradise
What a lovely camp site! We were in the Redwood Paradise Campsite #1 (not by the pool) and it was amazing. Secluded and right in the lush redwoods. Definitely a bit of a hike from the car camping so wouldn’t recommend for anyone unable to trek their gear to their site, but it was worth it for the lovely spot. Ruth & Marshall were so welcoming and kind, serving delicious coffee every morning and Marshall played beautiful piano which was a nice touch. The pool is not heated but we didn’t mind it was a nice cold plunge at the end of a hot sweaty day. Shower and flushing toilet was nice to have; don’t expect anything extravagant but it was just fine for the weekend - much nicer than state park bathrooms/showers. Overall would 100% recommend and return!
