We loved tent camping here! We enjoyed the privacy of Site B, as well as the clean outhouses and hot water shower. The hosts are communicative and friendly, and keep to themselves unless you request assistance. One thing to note is that site B is on an incline. The picnic area is relatively level and the tent spot is nice and flat, though still a bit slanted. Building a campfire was easy with wood and fire starters purchased from the host and delivered straight to the campsite. Spend the extra couple of dollars for the colorful fire packs! Overall, this was a great stay in a convenient location (easy driving distance from Monterey and Santa Cruz). Would definitely return!

I enjoyed staying on Zak's peoperty. It's a nice, peaceful property. The amenities were nice. It's very relaxing ar night. The hosts were very nice and informative. Would camp here again.

The camp site was well maintained with plenty of flat ground for setting up tents. There was no difficult in finding the location as the instructions were very clear. The hosts greeted us on arrival and pointed out where the amenities are.

Nice and clean camp sites, showers and outhouses. Very good at communication. Privacy and spacious sites. Clean pool and nice view. Lots of poison oak on trails but easy to spot and avoid. Gets cold and misty since close to beach.

The property has lots of amenities to make your camp easier.
Our site was the most unlevel which was a big inconvenience/challenge, but they didnt all seem to be that way.
We’d love to go back.

We loved tent camping on the land. Site C was private, with a lovely view of the moon over the Eucalyptus trees, open sky. It was nice to be greeted by the host and acclimated to the space and accommodations. As a camper that doesn't usually shower at a larger campground, I appreciated the private shower after a long hike. I've never been to Aromas, but our group appreciated the agriculture in the area as well the access to the ocean, local parks, and if you don't bring dinner, Aromas Grill is a great spot, delicious food and nice people. Would certainly visit again!

Camping on Zak's property was amazing. He and the team were friendly and responsive. I recommend paying the couple dollars to park on site instead of in the guest parking lot simply for convenience. Poison oak is all over the place, but they cleared out the main parts of the campsites really well, just don't go exploring in the woods. They did have a washing station and poison oak specific soap/scrub as well as some calamine which was great. Property is just far enough out that it feels private and not too far from town that you can't make a quick trip if needed. 10/10- would highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our quick visit to Zak's space. It was secluded and quiet at night so felt like we were far away from everything.
Zak was very quick to respond to any questions and made sure we had everything we needed.

Zak was very friendly and helpful! He showed us to our site when we arrived and helped us find the pool. The property is so beautiful- we were very impressed by the waterfall and the views. Site C was very private and surrounded by nature. I would definitely stay again!

Camping here went great, there was potable water available for us and a bathroom the perfect distance away, & we were provided with a foldout firepit ring, Zak greeted us on arrival and showed us our spot, they were real nice and let us know he was available if we needed anything.
I’ll definitely be back for our next camping trip. ⛺️

nice piece of land. site B and C both big and private. from parking spot up to camp site half a football field. small dirt hill to go up.
site B is nicer than C, more space more trees to hammock.
zak provided us with a bbq grill, picnic table, firewood and starter.

We had a super fun time. We had shade and privacy. The fire ring and wood super cool to stargaze while staying warm at night. Hearing the crickets at sundown and the rooster at sunrise is a plus for us. We felt very much in the woods which was the premise of stepping away from our busy metro lives.

Primitive Adventures Campsites
Our family and I had an amazing time at Zak and Wendy’s Campground. Site C was very spacious and private. The amenities were nice and clean. The kiddos enjoyed swimming at the pool and feeding the fish. Zak and Wendy are also very welcoming, truly this place is a gem!

Tent camping at site C with my brother was a nice retreat. The campsite was large with plenty of space for multiple tents if you need to set up more than one. It had a nice picnic table and collapsible fire ring. The neighboring campsites were hidden by trees and bushes with a good amount of space between each site. Expect fairly primitive bathrooms, though they do have lights, toilet seats, and wash station outside. The land owners, Zak and Wendy, were easy to communicate with and friendly.

I really liked camping there, it was really nice to have your little private oasis. It was quiet and had everything I needed. Having a 4x4 helped getting all the way to my camp site.

Camping was really enjoyable here! I really liked using the pool on a hot day, and the campfire and location was so fun. Zak and Wendy are very responsive and accommodating and have been great hosts. Bathroom was pretty clean for an outhouse, and the shower was pretty good and hot. Make sure to bring shower shoes if you are showering here.
