Welcome to Saddle Mountain, RV and Campground! We are located on 89 acres of forest land off Carmel Valley Road, just 5 miles from HWY 1. Nestled within oaks, Monterey pines, and redwoods, Saddle Mountain offers a great family friendly getaway for those seeking a break from the bustle of life. Please note, all our sites are pet friendly, but there are additional fees and size limitations depending on the type of site. Please add to the reservation or message us. On site seasonally heated pool (Memorial Day weekend in May through October). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: *Please continue reviewing/monitoring California Travel guidelines as they may change and affect your reservation* On site seasonally heated pool (seasonally), private hiking trail, playground, ping pong table and more. These non-drive in tent sites are designed for tent camping only, vehicles cannot park at the site directly & parking is a 1- 5 minute walk from the site. Each site includes a fire pit, a charcoal BBQ grill, and a picnic table. 3 site options located in two separate areas. If you desire to have a specific site number, please send us a message and we will do our best to accommodate based on availability. $25 site guarantee fee to lock your reservation into a preferred site. Site 40 is 25 feet in length and 16 ft wide, with half dirt and half grass turf area. Site 42 is 25ft in length and 12 ft wide, only dirt ground. Both are located in our Middle Grove, closest to the communal areas. Site 31 is 40 feet in length and 13 feet wide. Keep in mind this site is located at the very top of a steep hill, accessing the communal bathrooms/showers and other amenities requires guests to walk 5-8 minutes up/down hill or drive 1-3 minutes to the closest designated parking areas. Base price includes 4 guests (including children) and 1 vehicle. Up to two additional guests for a maximum of 6 total guests and a second vehicle can be added for an extra fee per night: +$10 each additional adult/child +$30 for second vehicle Additional vehicles must park in overflow. Some sites are better suited for vans, round tents (indented tent space 12X12), others have better layouts for long rectangular tents (intended space 10X14). The campground is a wonderful place to stay. There is great hiking, the pool is great and the campground is set in a beautiful location. I was very impressed at how clean the property is kept. This is a great campground for anyone, trailer, cabin, glamping, or tenting, and it is particularly nice for families with young children.

Nice campground close to Carmel-by-the-Sea. We were greeted by the friendly hosts and they were very helpful. Beautiful pool, gazebo and walking trails. We found the Saddle Mountain RV park convenient to downtown. It was typically about a 15 minute Uber to Carmel by the sea. Highly recommend eating at Hogs Breath and Mission Ranch (both once and currently owned by Clint Eastwood)- excellent food!! We also took the 17 Mile Dr e-bike tour from the Big Sur Bikes - OUTSTANDING WAY TO SEE PEBBLE BEACH. If you go, ask for Suzy!

Cozy Bunkhouse W/ Luxury Tent
Beautiful location, grounds were great, we came on a really hot couple of days and the cabin and tent were pretty stuffy but thankfully no issue with mosquitos and we just slept with doors and windows open. But if it’s expected to be hot I’d recommend bringing some fans! Otherwise very well stocked, comfortable beds and super clean facilities. Kids loved it!

I did like the campground because it was far from people, however because it was far a lot of previous people who camped that same spot urinated around the area so it smells like urine. It had a really nice view!

Luxury Tent - Premium
I know this might be a given, I didnt expect it because my previous camping trips werent like this but I wanna say that its a very quiet place. They are strict on their quiet hours. The place is beautiful, it had the best amenities for my kids: a playground and heated pool. A sauna and the luxury tent fit my family perfectly. Loved it there but we talk loud and say "fuck" a lot and that doesn't fly there

Overnight Trip
Luxury Tent - Middle Grove
Stayed in the Luxury Tent and had an amazing time. Check-In was simple, and the place was well organized and clean. One super convenient feature they have is an electric water kettle in the tent (our specific tent only had 3 outlet slots total, 2 of which were used for the night lamps). The only downside of our stay was the restroom situation. Depending on the crowd size, there could easily be a wait (the closest restroom only had 1 toilet stall and 1 shower stall). Only stayed the 1 night, wished we had more time to enjoy the pool + sauna + grill & fireplace. P.S. We got lucky in two areas. The first was getting a spot with a privacy door. Not all lux tents have one, so if this is important to you, make sure to double check whether your site has access to one (not that important, but does make your stay quite cozy). The second reason we lucked out was because quite hours were respected by all guests the night we stayed. Again, this is always subject to change, but I remember reading some bad reviews due to their after-hours noise complaints.

Saddle Mountain was great! Awesome pool, sauna and grounds. Well kept, friendly folks running it, nice (steep) hike. Site 11 itself wasn't great. It's small and up against the office. When we arrived they happily suggested we choose another open spot. We took 23, and it was perfect.

This was our first time camping in a Winnebago Solis and the site was perfect with hook-ups and a picnic table. We cooked on their bbq stand with charcoal. The bathrooms were clean and convenient to space 17. As it was August, there were a. lot of children and next time I would pick a site further from the pool.

I have been to Saddle Mountain before with my boyfriend for glamping and we had a good experience overall with the exception of finding a spider in our tent. So for the 2nd time I booked a drive in tent campsite so I could car camp with my best friend. We were there for 1 night only. It was a good experience. The only complain I would have is that it was hard to see the campsite #27 at night. It wasnt lit up like the other signs like #28 or 29-30. Other than that it was a good experience.

It is was so clean, quiet, and serene! We brought our truck and had a tent in the back. The showers were spacious and hot water which we appreciated after a long day. Directions for arriving to the site were easy to follow and we had a wonderful time. Will 100% be staying here again. We came for car week and will be back next car week!!

Tent camping here at Saddle Mountain was peaceful, with easy access to restrooms and office and a hiking trail. Restrooms were cleaned regularly. The location is also close to downtown Carmel in case you want to pass by before or after your stay. Highly recommend for a family camping trip or a low-stress prep camping trip. Will come back.

Very convenient to find a very nice comfortable place to tent. Feel safe with the way the landscape is set up, heated swimming pool was so much fun to hop in after sauna room. Many things to do with nice people around (staff and visitors) family friendly, there are something for everyone- lots of parking as well. Planning to get friends to visit again

Cute place but the spot we got was severely risky for our Van. There was a major height risk with tree branch and backing out was hard. Vans need flat land and higher access. Rec to the site- put vans in easier to access sites. Facilities were clean. Pleasant

Great place to rest with awesome amenities. It’s a bit noisy and busy with the other campers, don’t expect to sleep in lol but everyone (staff and campers) was nice and respectful. The space was great for our truck, it was leveled and had a decent amount of privacy. Site 38 is right next to a staircase that was used a lot but being near the restroom/showers/dish washing station was nice. It’s a bit spendy but if you use all of the amenities it’s definitely worth it. Would love to come back again!

The photos don't really do these sites justice. They command an amazing view! It's a bit of work to get to the bathrooms and facilities, but well worth the hike. I should mention that the staff here is amazing! Facilities are clean and well cared for. Family friendly and very safe. We absolutely enjoyed our stay!

Perfect place to set up camp and crash. We (early 20s friend group) needed a last minute camp site for our trip to monterey. if had know this campsite was going to be so comfortable i would’ve stayed another night! The girl that checked us in was an absolute gem. She welcomed us warmly and give us a perfect directions to our camp. Beautiful clean bathrooms and showers, extremely family, friendly, and very good for our friends that had never camped before. We didn’t using the pool or the communal fire pits, but it was amazing that those were even options. You definitely hear and see other campers and I would recommend this place for larger groups or people with children, looking for a lower maintenance camping experience. I only wish you were allowed fire pits (obviously not their fault at all) and I would definitely NOT recommend those duracell logs, stick with charcoal or the other campfire alternatives. Easy access to Carmel and Monterey, we even made the drive down to Big Sur for a day. Great home base for the causal campers with a lot of day trips on their schedule.

Very sweet family friendly campsite. The recreational activities are great. The grounds are hilly which can be tough for kids and our site was surrounded by poison oak so could use some trimming. The bathrooms are very clean and the office staff was very nice.

Nice shady sites with water and electric. Bathrooms were clean and maintained that way. Showers with plenty of hot water. I wasn’t able to use the pool but others that did said it was pleasant as well as the sauna. a good experience and will be back next year.
