Weekend Trip to Above the Clouds RV Park

Such a great, peaceful stay and just a quick trip to get into Glen Ellen for food. Phil and Colleen were super friendly and welcoming as soon as I arrived. The site also has a nice, clear view of the sky so I was able to get work done via my Starlink easily. My only piece of advice for others considering is to take the route that approaches from the West as the other route was really quite challenging when towing. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!

3 nights at The Mojo River Spot in the redwoods

I reserved a stay on Joelle’s land super last minute after a really hard week. She was super accommodating and welcomed me and my little pup within a few hours of booking. I got lucky and had the whole property to myself. I prob could have stayed in a cabin or an extra fancy large tent but opted for my single person on a little cliff overlooking the river. Nature did not disappoint me, I saw bald eagles, a bobcat and even a friendly river otter from my perch in the grass above the bank. If you’re into real camping-like pack it in and out-this is a good spot to tuck in. Sure, there are amenities but the real gem here is keeping it simple and enjoying the diversity of life bursting from every corner. If you’re still enough, you will be rewarded Can’t wait to make my way back and snag the island for myself! Thanks Joelle for being a great host

Weekend Trip to Sleep Up High In A Redwood Tree-net

If you love redwoods you really can’t get a better experience than this up amongst such tall trees. Laying on the net 20+ feet in the air with fairy lights all around was a magical experience. The build felt very safe and well designed with ample guard rails around. In spite of being in a neighborhood it felt very secluded. Would highly recommend surprising your SO on a date night here!

Weekend Trip to The Olive Farm

We held a class camping trip here, and everyone had a good time. The spot is gorgeous, and it's extra nice to have it to yourself. The pond was a big attraction. All the facilities were presented with care and Sam was the perfect host.

Site #2 was nice, right next to the road and a Honey Bucket. Couldn't find the trail to the animals. Difficult finding the campsites. Not much help from hosts. But still such a beautiful area, you can't go wrong. Sites clean and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Sleep Up High In A Redwood Tree-net

What an amazing night sleeping suspended in the redwoods on an expertly crafted tree net that not only feels secure and safe but is comfy as well. There were four of us and we had plenty of space. It was our first time camping like this so I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it was so cool it was worth checking out. Although the space isn't completely isolated, as in you can see houses through the trees, the ring of redwoods the net is built in surrounds you creating a magical space. My 13- year-old son and his 14-year-old friend loved it. The other dad zonked out within minutes. We all agreed we would do it again. And for the lovers out there, this place is dreamy. Louis the host was prompt and clear with answering questions and directions. Two big thumbs up.

Weekend Trip to Rancho Laslendini

If you are looking for off the beaten path and a quiet place to camp this is your place. We enjoyed our stay for the night and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. It was nice having power to run the electric. We had spot #3 but I think spot #2 is the best out of the 3. I picked a few lemons before we left and they are some of the best lemons I’ve had.

Absolutely incredible stay. The place is incredibly cozy, the amenities are beautiful and very functional and the property itself is a lovely place to wander. John and Lesley are fabulous hosts.

Early May visit: Beautiful area and camp sites. No problems with bugs. Fairly private, large sites. Well maintained. Good shade and sun (huge awesome trees everywhere) Bummed the creek is fenced off and not a lot of exploration available directly from our site but still a great place to camp.

3 nights at Studdert Family Farm

Our stay with Cindy was beyond special! We arrived at two baby lambs born that day. The hosts were very generous—showing us around, educating us on the farm, and even sharing their spring bounty. The location is central to everything you'd ever want to explore in Sonoma while still feeling secluded. Highly recommend and we hope to be back soon!

Weekend Trip to The Olive Farm

A group of families camped together at the Olive Farm this past weekend. It was such a lovely experience! The site is really ideal for families and kids. It feels surprisingly secluded considering how centrally located it is. The sweet pond is at the top of a little hill, above the main site. This small separation means it's easier to keep an eye on little kids who you might not want to be near the water without adult supervision. (Easy rule - don't go up the hill without an adult.) We brought our SUPs and had a great time paddling the kids around. They "almost" caught a fish that was "as big as my whole body" LOL. I went up there early one morning and saw a gorgeous, huge heron hanging out and looking for his morning snack. The water from the sink was fresh and tasted good. The little cabin is really nicely appointed and the adirondack chairs on the deck are perfect for an afternoon lounge with a beverage. The port-a-potties were some of the cleanest I have ever seen. There were a couple things we brought with us that were helpful - 1) a couple folding tables for the sink area to make kitchen prep easier, and 2) a shade structure to put over the picnic tables during the heat of the day. We used the solar string lights for about 3 hours on Friday night, which meant they only lasted about an hour and a half on Saturday night. But great to have lights at all! Sam was a great host, super responsive. We will absolutely be back!

Finley Camp is nestled along Finley Creek in West Sonoma County. Campsites are located in open flats surrounded by Coast Doug Fir, Alder, and California Bay forests. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate, and access to a porta potty and hand washing station. The campsites are located past the end of the county road allowing for a quiet peaceful experience. Enjoy a quiet stroll on site, the surrounding communities of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and Tomales, or just enjoy a quiet day in camp. Our sites are located approximately 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. The campsites are 2.5 miles from the coast and the weather can be unpredictable. As a general rule, it is very similar to that of San Francisco. All camp sites are situated in a valley that offers protection from the coastal winds. The have both morning and evening shade. Sites #2, #6, #7, and #11 have the most space, while sites #4, #7, #8, #9 and #11 offer the most privacy. Sites 1-3, any combination of 5-7, and 12-13 are well suited for groups. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site. We have beef available for purchase from calves raised exclusively on our ranch. This beef is 100% grass fed and finished and never given grain of any kind. We have various cuts available such as steaks, ground, roasts, ribs, or other various specialty cuts. The Meadow Grove of Hands Full Farm

The Meadow Grove campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites] there are no hook-ups for RVs . Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing. Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book! *Campers who "change sites" without written approval by the host will be charged double!* There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. The Olive Farm

Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have a pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer. Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County wine country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River. We are close to places like Armstrong Woods, Safari West, Getaway Adventures, The Sonoma County Fairgrounds which hosts the Summer Country Concerts among other events, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa Full Camp; Half Marathons Camp; 5K, Sonoma Zip-line Adventures, and Much More! For you foodies there are Savor Food Tours, Relish Culinary Adventures in addition to all the incredible restaurants in town. There is so much to do and see in our beautiful part of the world. This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best wineries in California! About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. Please prepare accordingly for your travels and your stay. - There is a fire ban in effect, so please no campfires, but we do allow you to use a propane fire pit if you bring it yourself. - We welcome your pets! The property is located east of Occidental in a unique "banana belt" along the USDA 9a/9b climate zones, inside the "Green Valley" Sonoma wine appellation, on a quintessential country lane. Originally settled and farmed in the early 1900's by a family of Italian immigrants, from who the lane is named. One acre is our family compound, two acres are forest preserve, and the other two acres are the orchard - where the parking sites have been integrated. The orchard has many different fruit trees including heritage Gravenstein apples that were originally planted by the family from Italy. The Gravensteins are ripe between mid July to mid August. The orchard borders a forest with old growth Redwoods, Douglas Fir, Bay Laurel, Oaks, and Madrone. Some wildlife passes through the orchard, especially birds. The site offers great star gazing, sun rises, moon rises and access to a charming walk on a beautiful country lane for sunsets. Two minute drive to Occidental, and a twenty minute drive to the beaches of the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River. A great location to explore and enjoy nearby small towns, wineries, dairies, hiking, bicyling, surfing, kayaking, and farmers markets... or just relax at the site, make a picnic and bask in the serenity.
