Caution high winds & unkept toilets
The address was confusing especially how google maps will take you to someone else’s property. Relief instantly dropped when we followed second address and saw The Meadow sign at front. Luckily we booked the campsite that was away from traffic and far enough from the owner’s house for privacy. There are alpacas and lavender growing. The wind is definitely year round because of location & our close proximity to the wind mills. The toilets need to be sanitized, cleaned and dumped. $50 is a bit overpriced if you’re a self sustaining car camper looking to park overnight.

I loved tent camping here. I hope they don't turn it into a RV park. It is nice being able to tent camp and have a small bon fire

The sites are large and quiet. Nice farm views of the alpacas and grapevines. Host was gracious to wait on our arrival when we communicated we would arrive later than the 9pm time.

Quiet and easy to access
The site is sparsely shaded so plan for that if you're going to be visiting in the hotter months. Bathrooms seem to be frequently cleaned and there's an on-site shower being constructed, which would have been amazing. Hosts generally left us alone and delivered firewood promptly when requested. Overall a nice site for a bit of a getaway. If we had stayed longer I'm sure we would have taken them up on the offer of a cold water tub delivery. Kinda regret not doing that! We were able to pull our vehicle in directly to the site without any difficulty and the campsite is right off a major road, making access to the site and nearby amenities easy.

Meadow of Isleton was sold
Upon arrival we noticed the vast difference of the property from the last visit. We found out the previous owners sold the land and it will become a RV park of some kind. If you have visited before it’s a ghost town now just waiting to be bulldozed. We left the same day feeling like they should have update the website with this information. They are still using the old photos and no new information or mention of this situation. I was informed the timeline of this RV park development was “just waiting for permits”. The Meadow of Isleton is sadly no longer a place we will visit.

Greatly enjoyed my stay!
My husband & I enjoyed our stay at The Meadows. We paid extra for the water trough as it was a hot day & the cold water felt amazing. We wanted to get away for 1 night to celebrate our anniversary. It was quiet & relaxing as no one else was camping near us.
The host Doug was very friendly & accommodating. Each camping space is a very generous size. I would feel comfortable having my own spot & another camper parked next to me.
We would definitely camp here again & I would recommend others check out this place also. We walked to Manny's Barzzeria for dinner. It was also fun to see the 6 alpacas they have at The Meadows. Thanks for making our camping anniversary trip a great & memorable one!

Liked it so much we booked a second night. Isleton is a cute spot. The photos of the spot are little outdated. No cows or goats but the alpacas are cute. It really is just a field with fire rings and a picnic table. There’s plenty of space between spots.
Looks like some updates are in progress and we plan on using this spot again so I’m curious to see how they improve the amenities.

Miss the previous owners who cared
Great memories of a place that is no more. I’m afraid the magic and charm are gone. The groundkeeper is nice but long gone are the previous owners who made you feel like family. New owners kinda make you feel like trespassers.
Plus, don’t try to reschedule. They will ignore you and not refund anything.
Also, don’t bring a dog, foxtail is everywhere and dead rabbits, they’ve got those decaying on the grounds too….
🤦🏽

The two porta potties were overflowing when I arrived and were not emptied or cleaned for 4 days ( half of my time there) . The host apologized over the phone but he didn’t introduce himself personally until day 5 . I will never be back and would never recommend them.

Too expensive but fine.
It is too expensive for what you get. If it was $45 we would be down, but for the price it feels kinda ridicules. It’s a huge field that’s super loud with hwy noise all night. No trees or shade structures
The host who welcomed us was awesome and super sweet. And the alpacas were cute! Thankful for the stay just feel it’s overpriced.

Lots of sun (and wind) to take in
We loved our stay at the Meadows. We occupied sites 5 & 17.
Each site was spacious and had a picnic table and campfire ring. We needed a grill grate so we went to the store to make our skewers, burgers and links.
The bathrooms and sink for washing dishes was a couple skips away. Neighbors were friendly and kids were plenty.
There was a ton of space for running, cornhole, throwing and kicking balls and wearing out a kid or two.
Cons: Showers are coming. PortaPotty was clean on Friday by Monday it needed some attention. And there is nothing the host can do about the wind. Wind was a deal breaker for some folks who left before the long weekend was over.

A Low-Key Camping Spot
We did a last minute booking cos it was one of the few available ones left since it was a Memorial Day weekend. This place is located about an hour away from the Tri-Valley area. This camp spot is really close to other residential homes which was not what I expected.
Just know that you are basically camping in front of the host big front yard farmhouse. There weren't as many farm animals as I expected to see from the listing. Only 6 Alpacas and a bunch of chickens. No goats or anything else. We purchased the add-on fire wood ($20) option as the listing noted 'outside' wood isn't allowed. The wood wasn't enough to last for 2 nights and we kindly requested for a few more and the host was nice to stop by with a few more logs. The host was nice to let us move our campsite from #16 to #2, which was closer to the bathroom & sink and gave us more privacy. Toilets were pretty clean, no flies and was NOT smelly either. There was a set of cornhole kids can play with. Was very windy in the evening, we brought kites to play and it was perfect. I brought a jacket, Uggs and a beanie, cos it was a bit cold & windy at night.
Overall, this is a very low key spot to camp at. It's not your Instagram style forrest camp ambience but it felt more like camping at a big public park in a grassy field. There was still cell signal out here but our teens put away device and we got to enjoy some good quality family time together. It was a nice little get away for our family.

Not a fun stay
So when we reserved this place there were many amenities. We were super excited. But when we showed up we were a little disappointed. First off the ad said there were a bunch of animals. Bathrooms. And running water. When we showed up there was a portapotty next to the house which was an extremely far walk from our site. We ended up driving to it. Our camp site was next to a major road and it was loud with the cars headlights shining straight into our camp all night. It was basically a field we set up in. Although not their fault there was extremely high winds and it was extremely. Old. The guy that welcomed us was very nice. He asked what site we were there for and we told him. He just said it was over there and pointed. After we set up he brought us the wood we bought for the camp fire because it states you cannot bring your own wood. For 20$ we got 5 2.5 inch by 12 inch sticks that lasted us all about 45 minutes and we were out and cold. I believe the place has potential but it is absolutely not worth the money. There were 2 other guests there and both were very unhappy as well. We payed for the “hillbilly cooling pool” they offer and he was bothered to bring it to us but told us he would first thing in the morning. At about noon we hadn’t seen anyone and I was trying to resolve some issues. So we looked and ended up just leaving. We had payed for 3 nights and stayed maybe 14 hours. Definitely will not be coming back and I will be trying to get some of my money back.

Kids had fun…
Wasn’t as advertised. It is kid friendly, but I would not call it a farm experience. I would suggest reading the most recent reviews. Lots of traffic and machinery noise. We cut our stay short because of high winds (obviously there’s no control over this) and not much to do. If you are going with kids bring lots of outdoor activities/toys. There is plenty of room to play baseball, frisbee, RC cars, etc… Our kids had fun, so that’s all that really matter. If it’s a hot summers day I’d suggest booking the Adult or Kids Cooling tubs in advance since there was only one of each. Only campsites 1-7 are allowed to book the cooling tubs.

Do not be fooled by good reviews!
This was not even a campsite it was a field next to a baseball field and beside a neighborhood. It was so windy we couldn’t even put up our tent or light a fire. The location is awful in the middle of nowhere. Brennan park where they recommend water sports and swimming is actually closed so there is literally nothing to do here. If you have never been camping at a state park you might think this is legit camping but really it’s just a big windy field in a tiny podunk town. We feel legitimately conned by the “good” reviews and by the hosts for recommending a closed park for activities. There is no lavender field, no farm fresh eggs, no coffee brought to you in the morning… literally have zero clue why reviewers even said that. I genuinely think all of these reviews were fake and done by the host’s friends. Please do yourself a favor and book at a real campsite and have a good time. Don’t be fooled like we were. One positive, is the llamas were cute but that’s not enough to even fathom coming back to this place.

Not the same without prior owners
Overall, we had a great experience. However, for those who have been here before or are looking at the pictures: you should know that it has been sold to a new owner. We had fun: exploring the area, riding the bikes, looking at the alpacas. At the same time, I'm not sure we'll be back as it just isn't the same anymore without the wonderful owners who were the soul and character of the place. The sweet cows, hilarious goats, and friendly dogs are no longer there. It does seem a little less kept up with lots of foxtails (for those who have dogs).
