The price of camping includes the Ranch experiences of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. Our property is great for children! We have a trampoline, a tree house, a large livestock water trough that we use as a kiddie pool in summer, a great swing set, and room to play.
We live on a quiet 10 acre property with trees that provide some shade, and all of our sites are near the horse pastures. You might hear horses nickering and chickens clucking. There is lots of room to walk or run around. A Treehouse is available for kids to play in, a trampoline to jump on, plus we have a 17 foot high swing for kids and adults alike! You can walk the property to observe the horses, or sign up for a special horse, tractor, or welding experience.
Come camp in a very quiet and safe horse and farming area. We are near the end of a dead-end road. Our camping sites are somewhat private, some with more shade and others with more mid-day sun.
We specialize in "Horse Experiences" tailored to your level of comfort and needs. None of the horse experiences listed on our site require any prior experience with horses. We will make sure you are safe and comfortable while working with the horses.
*NOTE: Experiences are not available on Sundays (our sabbath day). We can fit them in on Saturday afternoon/evening for Saturday-night campers, or Monday morning for Sunday-night campers.
We have a private bathroom with flush toilet and sink.
Summertime brings hot days and (usually) cool nights to our area. It is not uncommon to experience 100 degree days in June, July and August. Most evenings cool down, thanks to the Delta Breeze, to around 60-70 degrees overnight. Wintertime brings cooler daytime temps (50-60 degrees) and colder night temps (30-40 degrees).
We are located about 10 minutes from the Galt area, which has a large variety of Fast-food, as well as several nicer restaurants. There is also a Wal-Mart (with groceries) and a nice Supermarket. We are about 6 miles from 2 country stores in Herald and Wilton (with gas station).
Sites accommodate up to 6 people, and you can add up to 2 more for an additional fee. If you need more than 8 people, then consider booking 2 or more sites.
With horses and the activities we do with them, dogs are not allowed.

The L3 Ranch was founded in 1974 when my grandfather bought the property for his show cows. In 1978, someone gave him a racehorse to pay off a debt. From then on, the property was known for its Quarter horse race horses, with some of the best in the state being born right here. In 2013 he found our he had cancer and handed the ranch down to me, Travis. Reservoir is a no-wake waterbody created for irrigation of the surrounding private rangeland. Jet Skiing and WaterSkiing is not allowed. Boats of all sizes are welcome for the purposes of fishing. Ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing with all of those available for rent on site.

As a first time HipCamper, this was an amazing first trip. The land is beautiful, open and a bit wild. We pulled into Sawyers Bar #4 with a big rig without any trouble. The roads are well maintained and level. The camp area is very clean, weed whacked and spread out. We met Tom shortly after arriving and he was so interested in our needs and comfort on the ranch. We spent 3 nights and throughout all of it Tom would pop in now and then just to check in. As we are both curious people we asked him lots of questions and he was not only full of information but gave it freely and never seemed liked we were holding him up. The Sawyers bar area is 6 sites and it was mostly young families and quiet couples. The outhouses are well positioned and well maintained. We were impressed with how nice they were. The 2 near our site even had a sink and paper towels. The river was easily accessed from many paths with one main sandy beach area for all guests to share.
We loved it and highly recommend this spot.

Barry’s land was wonderful. It was clean, we loved going on the hay ride to experience the cows, bull Napoleon and the many goats they have. Feeding them and able to spend time with the animals was great. My family and I had a wonderful time and make precious memories. We have already talked about returning.

I really don’t want to write this review because it is just going to make Cole Ranch even more popular! But how could I not. Barry and Chrissy work so hard- this place is clearly a labor of love! It is so relaxing - being right on the river is about as good as it gets! And everything you need is right there for the taking. Water toys? ✔️ Firewood? ✔️ ice? ✔️ Bathrooms are so clean and cheerful. Not perfect but it’s camping folks!

Awesome place, super convenient if you need a place to crash as you make your on your way along I-5. Lots a space between sites, and the area was very quiet aside from a pack of coyotes in the distance. The restroom facility is great, and we loved being able to look up at the stars while we showered.

I have camped with my pop up camper at the Ranch at the Cross Roads a handful of times. It is very convienant and a great place to stay. The bathroom and shower are excellent. Always clean and comfortable I will continue to stay on this property in the future.

Absolutely exceeded all expectations! Our family lover every part of Travis’s space. The BBBQ, Refrigerator, outlets, and bathrooms made it so nice. It’s on a ranch so all the animals and wildlife were so amazing as well. Frogs and wild turkeys filled the air with beautiful sounds. Fishing was great! Everyone caught fish.

Great spot! Sunset and sunrise over the hills was stunning. The bathroom felt luxurious for camping and I liked the shower.
The communal area could use some work. The cornhole boards were a bit warped and most of the bags were unusable. The sink outside didn't work as well.
Overall the location was great and nearby a place to buy wood/get food. Did the job.

We had such a great stay here. The property is absolutely beautiful, and Sawyer’s Site #1 was right on the river shore. Falling asleep to the sound of the water was a highlight.
We also had the chance to meet Tom, who came by to introduce himself. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful property, with one of the cleanest/most extravagant public bathrooms that I've seen. If you're staying between Thursday and Sunday, I definitely recommend stopping by the winery tasting room for a flight of wine before 5pm. Perfect way to enjoy a sunset while camping!

We had the most amazing time on Jeremy’s property. It’s absolutely beautiful and our campsite was everything we could have asked for. Jeremy was so kind and accommodating when I wanted to change the dates due to weather and was even more welcoming when we arrived. The campsite is just a 15 minute walk down to the lake which is wonderful, we spent the entire day there. Our dog would probably also like to say that he had a great time playing with the puppy all day. Thanks again can’t wait to come back!
