Natural splendor and marine life await RVers at the bottom of Monterey Bay.
One of the top destinations on Californiaâs Central Coast, Monterey is a must for RVers cruising along Highway 1. Ocean lovers flock to Monterey Bay Aquarium or take to the water on a kayak tour or whale-watching cruise. Golfers are in heaven at renowned courses like Pebble Beach, while scenery-seekers head to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve to hike, picnic, and marvel at the rugged coastline. The 17-Mile Drive is a fee-based route that shows off the best of the Monterey peninsula, taking you past coastal rock formations, crashing surf, cypress trees, Spanish Bay, and Asilomar State Beach. Most of the local state beaches and parks donât have campgrounds but a couple of RV parks can be found in town, with more set back from the coast around Carmel Valley. Most of those have hookups and amenities. Monterey weather is mild with nearly the same temps year-round. Expect cool, breezy conditions with rain in the winter.
