Nice, private site! There’s no shade - so plan accordingly. The pit toilet is just down the road. The picnic table and tent platform were super nice. The road to the property is a dirt road and quite bumpy (4x4/high clearance vehicle recommended)

Bit of a rough dirt road to get there, and the entrance is steep to the Jay’s Perch campsite. But the site was perfect! Lots of room and the platform for the tent was nice. The pit toilet is just down the road. There isn’t any shade at this site - the sun can be quite intense! Another review mentioned someone speeding in a sedan - we saw him in the morning and he was driving quite fast and also yelling profanities. So just be careful and mindful when walking on the road

Awesome little spot! I camp often with my pups and this was perfect since my dog is afraid of little kids and we can't do the big campgrounds anymore. Super easy to find, signs were helpful. The road really isn't that bad, my 2WD suv got through it just fine. Just use common sense ;) perfect little trees for a hammock and elevated tent site. The mosquitos were BAD even with my one pound of combined bug spray on my body haha so be prepared. Quiet, I didn't really hear any road noise. Would come back again!

Jessica has a nice spot up on the mountain. Once we arrived it was peace and quiet and the views did not disappoint. It was tricky for us to get there - Our GPS brought us on a route that first led to a private gate we could not get through, then when we back-tracked we were led to a gate that was posted as being for local residents only. This ended up getting us there, but it was definitely a very indirect way since the way out following our stay was super straight forward to the blacktop. I'd recommend more detailed instructions from the host for best route to take to property.
While we'd booked Skid Camp, we couldn't find it. There was a sign for "trail" on the only road we could see that was toward where the map suggested Skid Camp was. We drove down the trail well beyond the frame of the screenshot on the site page but didn't find any spot with a picnic table or fire ring as shown in the pictures.
Fortunately, back toward the top of property near the entrance gate, our phones worked and I was able to coordinate staying at Jay's Perch instead, which was clearly labelled and close to the front gate. While we crossed paths with a few people who appeared to live on the property, there weren't any other campers and it was a cozy quiet beautiful place to camp.
All in all, it was a very nice stay. Jessica was responsive and flexible (thanks, Jessica!) and the land is beautiful.

There is a lot of traffic and road noise from the camp spot. There was a blue accord that would drive by fast that was concerning since my nephew was with me. The decorative stop sign really took away the feeling of camping. The brush was really thick and did not provide a lot of open space.

Booked this secluded stay last minute at the top of Mt. Madonna off Morgan Hill. Super private surrounded by trees. Definitely a rugged, but fun drive up last couple of miles so be prepared. Campsite came with 2x fire pits, wood and provided propane. Ended up having the whole area to ourselves too!

Beautiful, quiet, and everything we wanted. Just a quick getaway for Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. Fire pit was so nice! The road in is not for amateurs, and rain made it exciting, but once we got to the gate, it was everything and more. Very cozy. Thank you.

Incredible sunsets from the vista point down the road from the camp. Camp was clean and had a nice fire pit and fire table. Pit toilet was surprisingly nice. Definitely reccomend

We had a great time at the Skid Camp site. Very private within the trees with beautiful view of the stars. The road is a bit tricky getting in, but perfectly manageable with a higher car. We saw a couple wild pigs on our way in and out as well!

We had an awesome time at camp rewilding !
We had booked skid camp but unfortunately high clearance 4x4 was needed. My suv was too low for my comfort to keep going ! Haha but we messaged Jessica and she accommodated us with out any questions. Cams place was a nice spot with plenty of space for our family, our pup was able to run around and had the time of his life. We would definitely recommend. Jessica is a great host, we can’t wait to go back !

Skid camp was a perfect spot for off the beaten path, for a quiet night.
It’s located very close to Madonna County Park that offers amazing hiking as well as other activities. There is a small fire ring and bench made out of logs. We were able to gather fire wood easily. No bells and whistles, just a freshly skidded road with a campable landing. Recommend 4x4 for much easier access—the drive out off the mountain in the morning was truly beautiful.

My partner and I loved camping at skid camp! Beautiful forest, super secluded — we did not see a single person, from the time we pulled off the county road a couple miles away from the site to the time we pulled back on. A little hard to find, but Jessica was very responsive and helpful. My car loved the off-roading required to get to the campsite. We saw wild pigs when we left!

Overall, everything was as described and expected. Communication with the owner was excellent. The final few miles of the off-road access to the campsite in a 2WD car were a bit bumpy, but in my oppinion manageable with careful driving. We had the spot to ourselves. The campsite offers plenty of shade well into the afternoon, essential this time of the year. The toilet is convenient. The rooster's early morning crowing encourages us to get up early. All in all, a great spot.

Great campsite! It fit our Sprinter van great, and also has plenty of space for a tent with a view of the stars. Jessica was quick to respond to any questions I had and we had a great evening in her space. Would totally stay again!

I loved how remote the campsite felt when we arrived. And it was the perfect size for parking our 5x8 trailer. The campsite was clean and the pit toilet was also clean (and awesome). Jessica was easy to communicate with and flexible about drop-off times (even though we didn’t end up needing the flexibility) The only problem was that there were some neighbors playing loud music well into the night. It was still going when I fell asleep (sometime between 11:30 and midnight). We could hear it inside the trailer, so in a tent it would have been a bummer!

Amazing stay! The owners of the land were so kind and helpful. When we had trouble finding the site, they called and walked us through how to get there. When we realized we didn’t bring enough bug spray, they sent up a whole care package of various repellants, sprays, and candles! They also sent someone to build a brand new gas fire pit, so we could enjoy that too. I highly recommend this spot. Beautiful, off the beaten path, private, and with incredible and helpful owners!

It took about 2.5 miles of off roading to get to the campsite. We felt like we had the site completely to ourselves. However, there were loud cars and music from neighbors that went all night. Before leaving we picked up some trash from other campers. No major views from the camp site but the ride in was beautiful.

The area was secluded and had a lot of shrubberies and trees surrounding the area for kids to explore! We enjoyed the privacy and truly immersing ourselves in nature (there is no running water). The toilet pit was actually very comfortable and private. There was also a fire pen that allowed us to grill meat, make s’mores, and warm up breakfast burritos. We also got a small taste of “off-roading” feel of driving as the road was not paved part of the way going in.

I loved the remote feeling and amazing bird watching from CAM'S PLACE. We sat in our chairs for hours just watching the birds circle above us. The campfire was great as it featured a cooking grill and the wild, yet comfortable bathroom was an added bonus!

This was a nice, private, quiet campground. The pit toilet was excellent, and dry TP provided!
There was a random stop sign and (empty) trash bins around the site, which took away from nature a bit. A bit of trash around the site too.
There were not adequate access instructions - the site is about 2.5 miles on an eroded gravel road. Thank goodness my car has four wheel drive, otherwise I might not have made it. There was no photo of the site’s gate, and Hip-camp gave me a nearby but not exact address, which meant I had to drive back and forth and finally call the host. I was going to go home, but thankfully Jessica had a quick response time. More detail on the Hipcamp listing and signage would really help.

Place was pretty and quiet and we had it mostly to ourselves. Walked about a mile down the rough old road into some pretty cool forest, and saw some salamanders in the water. Also, saw the little pigs that run around the mountain.
