Weekend Trip to Camp Rewilding

It took about 2.5 miles of off roading to get to the campsite. We felt like we had the site completely to ourselves. However, there were loud cars and music from neighbors that went all night. Before leaving we picked up some trash from other campers. No major views from the camp site but the ride in was beautiful.

Camping under the tree in the host’s yard was a surprisingly relaxing experience. The spot felt private and shaded, and having access to a toilet and shower just a short walk away made everything super convenient. The natural ambiance really made it special peacocks and other animals roam nearby, so you get to enjoy their sounds in the background. It added a peaceful, almost tropical vibe to the stay. Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys a low-key, nature-infused camping spot with a few comforts!

1 night at Camp Rewilding

I loved the remote feeling and amazing bird watching from CAM'S PLACE. We sat in our chairs for hours just watching the birds circle above us. The campfire was great as it featured a cooking grill and the wild, yet comfortable bathroom was an added bonus!

The area was very beautiful! Lovely ranch and the campsite kitchen was so nice. Everything was pretty clean, even the bathroom areas. The owners are so sweet and we loved our stay. Animals were so cute too!! We miss the ranch cat, George haha. Definitely suggest :)

1 night at FEEL GOOD CAMP

this was a last minute booking and i’m happy i did. great little car camp spot. julie helped me back in when i arrived after 6. she had been in text communication with me all day about my arrival. it was nice. when i got there i took a hot shower, cooked a good dinner in the communal kitchen, talked to some of the other campers, enjoyed some of a shared campfire and then settled into my car. it was so quiet. quiet hours are enforced and the campers all respected it. it was so peaceful and was a beautiful morning wake up for an early start back to reality. definitely will return to stay in the glamping options!

Norris and Roberta are the nicest hosts. Upon arrival, we messaged Roberta and she would answer right away. Norris greeted us at the gate, gave us a tour of the ranch and freedom to explore. I would definitely camp here again and would recommend it. All the animals on the farm were awesome

Weekend Trip to Silicon Valley View

We loved being at the top of the mountain, and the views of the valley were incredible. Site #1 had the most amazing view. No view from Site #2 but it was a very private camp site in the woods. We saw lots of birds. We appreciated the water spigot, the trash can and picnic table to make camping a bit easier. We drove the dirt roads from both sides to access the camping and the driving is very rough, not impassible, just slow going for our Subaru.

Clean, well-maintained, and pretty flawless.

1 night at Camp Rewilding

The area was secluded and had a lot of shrubberies and trees surrounding the area for kids to explore! We enjoyed the privacy and truly immersing ourselves in nature (there is no running water). The toilet pit was actually very comfortable and private. There was also a fire pen that allowed us to grill meat, make s’mores, and warm up breakfast burritos. We also got a small taste of “off-roading” feel of driving as the road was not paved part of the way going in.

I loved the spot. The directions are so spot on! The road is bumpy but worth it. Just take it slow and enjoy because it’s gorgeous! The spot is spacious and well maintained. We found the bathroom to be clean and easy to navigate. You can hear folks from other spots but not see them. It is absolutely beautiful. Definitely bring bug spray!

We enjoyed our stay. Kids had so much fun with the animals in the farm, specifically two cutest dogs.

We had a great stay! Our campsite was spacious enough for two tents for our family of five—with room to spare. It’s conveniently located near the restrooms and sink area, but still far enough away to feel private and peaceful. Zak was amazing—super attentive and on top of everything. Our kids especially loved visiting the horses and feeding the fish and turtle. We would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to BANKS RANCH IN THE REDWOODS

We loved staying at Redwood landing! It gets very sunny during the day, so our canopy came in handy. Each morning was beautifully foggy and cool, and there was a really nice breeze in the afternoons. The redwoods are beautiful all around the site. It’s close to the beach so we took day trips there. Doug and Denise were excellent hosts. Our dog had a blast (but watch out for poison oak and ticks). Definitely recommend this wonderful private campsite!

John is very hospitable. It was a quiet night and close enough to walk downtown for coffee and breakfast burritos. I would love to stay there again.

Enjoyed camping out for a night here, the hammock was a nice touch, bring your own tables and chairs and such though. Lovely surroundings, and some privacy behind the camper which was nice. Sweet spot!

We had the best time at Elkhorn Ranch! We chatted with our hosts, who were super friendly and offered lots of great tips about the surrounding area. The goats were the cutest thing we've ever seen, and the other dogs and cats on the property made the stay even more worth it. Our campsite was nice and private, and the amenities were clean and well-stocked. We were super happy overall and will definitely go back!

As many others have said, the hill top spots (1-3) aren’t much for privacy or amenities, but they’re clean, level, nice and peaceful, simple really. Easy in and out access of the spots with a really nice view. Might be a little steep price wise for what they are, but all in all we’re happy with the stop and would definitely return for another stay.

We are here in Gilroy Ca, on a rural 2 acres just outside of town, further up our road is Coyote Lake to go boating and fishing and Harvey Bear park to go hiking and horse riding. Santa Cruz is a 45 min drive West over hwy 152 and San Jose is 30 min North on 101 and keep going a bit more and you will be in San Francisco. Here at home we raise several different kinds of lives stock. Goats for meat and milk, Sheep for meat and wool and eventually milk, Pigs for meat, Rabbits for meat and hide, Chickens, Ducks and Quail for meat and eggs. We have a garden and small orchard with nearly a dozen fruit trees of different kinds : loquat, a few apples, plums, apricot, peach, fig, persimmons and my favorite the pomegranate! We process everything ourselves using ancestral techniques and love to share and learn with others. Id say the main draw back here is the traffic noise but beyond that, We are quite lucky to have very a green and Id say an oasis of a property, with multiple large palms trees surrounding the pool area and a large weeping willow tree in the main yard/sheep pasture. At the NE corner of the property is a very large oak tree, it is majestic and with the tipi door open to the East the big oak is the first thing you'll see every morning besides the suns rays! The entire Northern property line is rowed with 60ft tall redwood trees and there are a smattering of citrus trees around to boot! The freezer is stocked with in house meat, the BBQ is hot, the pool is cool, come relax after a day on the trails!

This campground is also a great setting for your celebrations with two stages, a celebration area, a stone fired pizza oven and a sound systems (These are extras). We also have two sites for Private Group Camping for RV and Tent camping if you want to have a separate area away from anyone else. They can accommodate at least 15 people. Please check out those sites if you plan to come in a group. If you bring your dogs or children we have a trail for you to stroll around the property in a natural setting. Grey Oaks is located on 20 acres of land, with hiking and mountain biking trails, a 12 foot deep in-ground swimming pool, multiple interesting and cool landscape features, hot water shower, and animals up by the house (1/4 mile from the campsites) that you can interact with during your stay here, too (8 hens, 2 pasture horses, 2 friendly dogs, and 1 awesome cat). At the campsites, we have picnic tables, fire pits, bbqs, ice chests, and more. A clean and fresh well water hand/dishwashing station, plus Alhambra Crystal Fresh drinking water, and two outhouses are conveniently located to the campsites. Eucalyptus, oak, and/or pine firewood is provided free for you during your stay with us. It really is a beautiful and wonderful property. There is wildlife, and it is private and peaceful. It is very dark at night and the view of the stars, moon, and planets is amazing. There is poison oak on the property so please be aware. We will show you what it looks like, so you can easily avoid it.

Adventure seekers will find paradise here! Mount Madonna Park with miles of trails is 20 minutes down the road. You can dump your septic there as well! Horseback riding rentals are located near the park as well as an archery range. Demonstration forest is 15 minutes down the road, with miles of mountain biking. Spend a day at one of the beaches in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos, Rio Del Mar, Davenport, Half Moon Bay, Monterey, or Carmel and return to your private oasis. Or Explore Silicon Valley from this centrally located parcel. Kim Son Meditation Center and Mount Madonna Center are approximately 15 minutes away. There are also wonderful wineries throughout the mountains here. The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a private dirt road. Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities. Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. Summer: Shade is highly recommended it can get into triple digits. *Spring/fall: Temperatures are generally mild but high winds are possible. *Winter: Typically cold and windy. *During rainy/muddy conditions 4x4/AWD is highly recommended. It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy. Please note: the nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers. Pets are allowed. Enjoy your time howling at the moon, star gazing, bird watching/wildlife viewing, or relaxing with your favorite libation. Don't forget your camera! Since this is our first year renting our land we have found that August is a high wasp season time in the mountains. We are doing everything humanly possible to hunt down each and every Wasp for your enjoyment. Strawberry Fields Forever

Welcome to southern Santa Cruz County, home of some of the longest and most beautiful beaches in central California. We are located in La Selva Beach, an eight-minute walk to Manresa State Beach. We are a small, working farm with vegetable and flower gardens, chickens and bees. There are many excellent places nearby to hike, walk, surf, swim, tide pool or just sit and enjoy the view. We offer three campsites, two have fantastic, unobstructed views of the three hundred acres of strawberry fields that back up to our property. Our campsites provide water and electric hookups and are only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers. One of the sites has no size constraints on RVs or trailers. We have plenty of room for a second vehicle. We do offer a port-a potty, but not sinks or showers. We do not accommodate on the ground tent camping or in your car camping. The Valley View site is very quiet as it is farthest from the road, and is the most private. The Gateway site is near the road and does not have a view of the strawberry fields, but guests who are just looking for a quick stop over or base camp love it. The Strawberry and Surf site has no size restrictions and it backs up to San Andreas Rd. All site are walking distance to Manresa State Beach. We love to host guests and will provide information about things to do and see in our area. We often loan our State Parks pass so that you can venture out to Point Lobos, Wilder Ranch, Sunset Beach, Natural Bridges and more. Each camp site includes a fire pit and a generous wagon of wood. Two camp chairs and a picnic table are included as well. We also offer farm fresh eggs, baked goods and other treats (see our Extras). We are 15 minutes from the village of Capitola, 30 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 45 minutes to Monterey. There is a Dump station 5 minutes down the road at the KOA (for a fee).
