After the second time I drove all the way to Joshua Tree National Park and found it to be FULL, I decided to buy a little land so I can have a place to camp on. In the future, I would love to slightly develop it, but for now it's totally primitive. Just raw nature. Enjoy your stay. :)   Learn more about this land: This is a very primitive campsite. FIRES ARE NOT ALLOWED ! MUST BRING YOUR OWN PORTABLE TOILET There's a road that leads to a flat pad where you can park your car, and a wind breaker fence. it is perfect for sleeping in your car when you cannot find a spot in the park (Joshua Tree national park is very often full). The land is not far from the entrance (about 15 minutes drive) You will need to bring your own little table and chairs + whatever else you wish to have there. There is no bathroom or trash on the land. Please pack everything back out with you and discard once you reach a public trash. You will enjoy over 2 acres of privacy, endless views, starry skies complete with sunrise and sunset :)     (The city allows us to camp on our private vacant land only 4 nights a month, and of course does not allow short term rentals. For that reason a suggested donation of $25 per night is all that we are asking from our hipcamp community to help keep the space maintained :)This is a very primitive campsite. This spot was exactly what was advertised. Easy to find and plenty of space. A great spot to stay outside of Joshua Tree and have quick access to town or the national park. The hwy is close by and there are homes in the area and I was expecting that so it was not a surprise and I felt I had plenty of privacy. Overall a great spot and I will stay here again next time I am in the area.

We've stayed at Roni's site multiple times over the years, and it never disappoints. It's perfect for those who want to visit Joshua Tree but don't enjoy the chaos of crowded campgrounds. It's also easy to get to and close to stores and restaurants while still giving off a nature vibe. There are homes in the area, but it's been quiet every time we've stayed.

Place was right off freeway and close to Joshua Tree NP, so convenient. Traffic noise was noticeable all night. I would not stay here for the place itself, but rather for convenience. Beautiful sunrise.

This was exactly what we were looking for as we passed through Joshua Tree. It was quiet, especially compared to camping in the park. Right around the corner from the entrance. A great spot to spend the night and admire the stars!

There is nothing "paradise" about this spot. The first picture you see on the site shows a Joshua tree and rock alike in the park. The spot itself is just barren. Also, waking up by the traffic from the road below early morning is not what makes me think about paradise. The only thing I liked about this spot is the availability.

Works for a place to sleep

Nice place to set up a tent or sleep in the car/camper for the night. It’s not great for a true camping experience and I wouldn’t want to hang out there for very long. It’s a real bummer you can’t have fires too. The view was nice though. We had a problem where another group was at the site when we arrived at about 8:30pm. We were able to contact the owner and their reply was quick. They let that group know that they were in the wrong site. However, we ended up sharing the spot with the other group since we had no real authority to make the leave. The owner doesn’t live in town and only talked to the group on my cell phone. A gate with a combo lock to the property might prevent these problems in the future.

Great view and easy access to everything Joshua Tree has to offer. Site is as described and directions to the site were clear. GPS will send you to a different area if you don’t follow the directions given by the host. Site was private. Will stay again when back in Joshua Tree.

Primitive Paradise: Exactly That!

Super great! Husband and I found this after getting to Joshua Tree and finding out all the campsites in the park were full (to be expected) Super easy to find, pretty secluded and we loved how we felt like the only people around (even though we were close to civilization lol Only thing to note is there is no restroom, but that is not a big deal if you have bags/wipes with you. We loved this site and would recommend it to anyone!

Primitive paradise was perfect, private, secluded but also close to JT and coffee, food, gas, and supplies. I felt very safe and enjoyed my stay, the sunrise and sunset was beautiful! Roni was very quick to respond and very helpful with directions on the location! Would highly recommend!

Book it now!
We couldn't find a spot in Joshua Tree so we booked this spot. Amazing experience. The wind wall helped keep the sun off us in the morning. Great view of the stars without feeling too close to town.
