Duke at Simply Camping
Tammy’s is a hidden gem—just a patch of desert land, but somehow it gives you everything you didn’t know you needed. Wide open skies, total silence, and a chance to really disconnect. We camped out under the stars, watched the sun melt into the mountains, and just took in the peaceful desert vibes.
On the last morning, it actually started raining as we packed up—and weirdly, it made the experience even better. Something about the rain hitting the desert and the smell of the wet earth just added to the magic. This place has a quiet, simple charm that stays with you. We’ll definitely be back.

We loved camping at the Chemeheuvi site with beautiful views, wide open space, table and chairs with firepit and close proximity to a nice bathroom. There were fun games we enjoyed like horse shoes and golf putters with balls.
Tammy was very kind and greeted us upon arrival! She was very responsive and helpful with directions leading up the weekend. Thank you Tammy!
The gorgeous landscape made for a beautiful camping getaway. It was very windy and the sky was dramatic and gorgeous. The art sculptures on the drive in are incredible, definitely stop to check them out on the way in or when leaving.
This was a perfect place to camp close by Joshua Tree, highly recommend!

Tammy is the sweetest person and this desert is gorgeous! Creosote, art, and the night sky star viewing is amazing! I would definitely stay here again.

Furnished and Fabulous TeePee.
Had a great stay in the teepee! Through sheer bad luck, I ended up being there when incredibly strong winds were blowing through and the gusts were INTENSE! Despite that, my dog and I were nice and cozy inside of the teepee. It’s in a great desert spot perfect for stargazing and provided me a nice getaway for a weekend. Hopefully will return for a longer stay when winds aren’t so bad!

Great host! Very responsive. We booked at the last minute. The only negative was there were no hot showers as described in the booking. She refunded us for the showers and firewood. I guess the other location had the showers. Overall, it was a good experience despite the winds and no showers. She is very attentive to her guests.
