Truly one of my favourite camping experiences ever. Because I was there at a slow time, I was allowed to even use part of the treehouse even though I was just camping. Tammy was friendly and made sure I found my way. I did get lost and almost stuck in the sand bc I didn’t follow the directions she sent and was using Google Maps’ interpretation of the GPS coordinates.

Tammys Teardrop

Tammy is an excellent and thoughtful host. She upgraded my stay in response to the heat. She gave wonderful directions and she was very responsive. The teardrop and A Frame are SUPER CUTE. The whole site is very cute and relaxing and perfectly situated at the base of Copper Mountain. This is an excellent place for dark sky viewing. Stay with Tammy—you won’t regret it!

never underestimate a pig

did you know pigs are considered some of the most intelligent of all domestic and farm animals? miss baby bear certainly lives up to that reality. my friends and i can only blame ourselves for what went down at Daisy at Simply Camping - we've all watched babe and charlotte's web; we should have known her potential. it all started with a delectable almond-coated caramel apple, bought in town on the way back from JT National Park. we were saving it for dessert, our delightful little sweet treat after a day of hiking and roughing it in the desert heat. it was resting in our closed cooler, sitting on the dirt by our feet. we were already well acquainted with MBB from the morning - she had woken us up with snorts at 5:30am, pressing her snout to our tent to say hello. at the smell of kimchi spam tuna rice heating up on our stove, she came running with anticipation. the wind was blowing strongly and she happily licked up any food that went flying. i had just walked to our car with trash when i heard frantic yelling - "SHE GOT THE APPLE!" i turned in horror to see MBB trotting as fast as her little legs could take her, paper bag between her teeth. she had opened our cooler with her snout and snatched it with ease. my friend recovered from the shock and took off after her. she retrieved the bag, full of sand and saliva - the apple was toast. we dined in silence. moral: don't save a good thing for later - just enjoy it while you can. well wishes to tammy and miss baby bear <3

Family friendly teepee stay

My boys were excited to stay in a teepee and I appreciate the bed inside and the toilet nearby. There were lots of sports stuff including a few disc golf holes and three discs we played with. Dog friendly was nice for our puppy’s first camping trip.

We had a great experience staying at Tammy’s campsite. The space was clean, well maintained, and exactly as described. Tammy was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. One of the highlights was her friendly pig, Miss Baby Bear, who came out to greet us. Such a unique and memorable touch! The location was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping spot.

Stargazing in the desert

Tammy’s customer service and communication were great! Unfortunately due to a vehicle issue I wasn’t able to stay at her place. I messaged her to apologize and let her know I wouldn’t make it. I expected to pay the nightly fee but she graciously offered to give me a credit. It was a lovely surprise after a rough day. Am looking forward to visiting in the near future.

we loved our stay at the treehouse, and so did our kids! we put up a two person tent on the deck, and the kids slept in the beds. they loved the slide and gagne’s and hangout area underneath. thanks so much!

Duke at Simply Camping

Tammy was so great! She was very friendly and accommodating and Miss Piggy her pet pig was so cute. We got to feed her some blueberries we brought. The sunset and the sunrise on the campsite were beautiful. The site itself has a chair and fire pit, and there was a mostly even spot where we placed the tent. The instructions to arrive were a little confusing but we made it so all was well. The outhouse is not the best so I recommend going while you’re visiting the Joshua tree visitor center or other place. Overall I enjoyed my time at this campsite!

Dome at Chemhehuevi

We had a great time despite the epic heat! Great place for Stargazing, it’s quiet and peaceful and great for glamping or camping. Great set up and close enough to everything but far enough to feel like you’re camping. And a funny little pig to boot!

I loved Tent Camping here! Tammy was a great and communicative host. Her pig, Baby Bear, was adorable. The campsite also felt like an art exhibit. Beautiful view of the surrounding desert and super close to Joshua Tree. Would camp here again :)

Tammy and her pig Baby Bear are the sweetest most caring two that you can meet. The camping spots are unique with more surprise the more you look. Has an out house and great morning views from your tent. Going back next time I visit Joshua tree again.

Awesome place to camp! Tammy was so welcoming and provides great directions to get there on the backroads. Campsite has a shared and very clean bathroom, as well as its own campfire. Her little piggy was also the cutest morning treat! Hope to be back soon!

Off grid magic

Great spot to take in a beautiful view. I was fortunate to get there in a slow period with no other campers so it felt like I had the whole place to myself! I also love that the place is essentially a love letter from the owner to his family. All of the buildings were designed and built with individual family members in mind. As for the location itself, it is completely off grid which is my favorite part. With that said, the roads are a bit rough for the inexperienced road tripper/ camper, and the neighbors who live there create some noise pollution in the distance. I say this to advise the glamper looking for an instagram experience/moment to set proper expectations. (Worth it though for some incredible shots for the gram). Tammy is a kind host that loves the land and all the animals that come through it. That's the energy people can expect with this place. It's a great spot I look forward to returning to!

Camp near Joshua Tree NP

We loved the serenity at Tammy's camp. We arrived after it had gotten dark and Tammy was very prompt and helpful, via messaging, in getting us to the right location within the campground. It's a long trek out there by sandy dirt roads but it was well worth the effort to get away from the crowds of Joshua Tree NP. We're not real big desert fans but to be out on that open land, feeling one with nature, witnessing the most gorgeous pink sunsets lighting up the distant mountains, we came away with a new appreciation for the desert world.
