Beautiful 5 acres of nothing but views. It's named "The Slab" simply because that's what my family has always called it. I am currently testing this as a place for campers, so please leave feedback so it can be improved. Eventually, there will be a picnic table setup for campers, and designated open spots for more vehicles to park/ flat spots for more tents. There is running water available on the slab but I am in the middle of figuring something out how campers can utilize it. Stay tuned!

We are located 10 minutes from The Integratron, 25 minutes from Giant Rock, Joshua Tree National Park, and 40 minutes from Johnson Valley. Halliday's liquor store is 10 minutes, with $5 pizza place (delicious!) / gas station 15 minutes away. There is even a nearby Landers thrift store and La Copine restaurant. Shooting area about 15 minutes away. I can list SO much more, but I'll let you come explore the hidden gems Landers has to offer. There is a firepit set up onsite for your convenience. I have a very private campsite that is off grid. There’s an outhouse with a camping toilet, a large deck to lounge and watch the sun rise or set. You can pitch a tent on the deck or on several cleared spots on the ground. JT national park is a 15 minute drive and there’s a corner mart nearby. Guest Access:
There is only one way to access the site, so please follow the provided directions carefully. GPS may lead you to a route that is not vehicle-accessible. You will drive through a residential neighborhood before entering the forest property — please drive slowly and respectfully.
Other Things to Note:
Please pack out all trash. We do not provide bins to avoid attracting animals or scattering debris in the wind.
Important: You must have a self-contained toilet system and pack out all waste.
A 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, but standard cars and RVs up to 30 feet can access the site by driving slowly. Low-clearance sedans can also make it with care. Please know your vehicle’s limits.
Parking is available directly on the campsite, leading up the driveway.
We’re animal-friendly! Pets are welcome — just be sure to clean up after them to help keep the property beautiful.

I didn’t have a big budget, so finding something affordable was important. Then I found Amy’s place. It was affordable, really cute, and exactly what I needed. I kept my phone charged with a battery pack, sat in the moonlit camper, and wrote. It ended up being a really meaningful and grounding experience.

2 nights at JT High desert Hideout
This site was perfect for what we were looking for! We wanted to take a quick trip to Joshua Tree to day hike, but didn’t want to brave the cold and wind in a regular tent. This site gave us the feel of car camping, but with a very warm tent and comfortable bed to sleep on. Would definitely recommend!

Camp Debs Place was an amazing Site. If you are a first time camper or someone that doesnt enjoy full on camping (No Shower, No Bathroom, No Amenities), this is the place to be. Deborah has everything you need, full running shower, full running bathroom, sites big enough for large parties, and even a coffee room! Everything was so clean as well. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would 100% come back. Debroah was very attentive to our needs and responded with in a timely matter when we had questions.
Only downside is the site being close to one of the main roads, so it does get a little noisy with cars driving by in the middle of the night. But, other than that, 10/10!

Weekend Trip to The Cabins at Joshua Tree Lake RV
This cabin was everything I needed and more for a quick weekend of hiking and exploring Joshua Tree. Coming from out of state, I was able to roll in with my carry on and still have the camping-esque weekend of campfires and picnic table lounging that I was looking for. The main host is so kind, helpful to work with, and was prompt to reply to questions I had.
The place looked just as it does in the photos here and I thought the blankets and bedding far exceeded my expectations for a “dorm” hostel in the desert. The only thing I might add would be hooks. I lucked out and had the place to myself, but had there been others sharing the space, places to hang things would be really helpful in keeping the space organized.
I’d definitely recommend this hostel and consider staying again when I’m in the area :)

Awesome place to camp! Tammy was so welcoming and provides great directions to get there on the backroads. Campsite has a shared and very clean bathroom, as well as its own campfire. Her little piggy was also the cutest morning treat! Hope to be back soon!

We had the best time at Camp Deb’s Place! It is truly one of the most kid-friendly spots we’ve ever stayed at. Even though we brought our own travel trailer, Deb had everything available and thoughtfully set up for families.
You can tell she really thinks through the little details that make a stay easier and more fun with kids. The bus with the game room and table was such a hit…it added a whole extra layer of fun and made the experience so unique.
We felt so comfortable and welcomed. Highly recommend for families looking for a stress-free, memory-making getaway!

I stayed at Deb’s campground 2 nights. It was a great experience. Deb has put a lot of thought and effort into creating a positive, comfortable experience for her guests. There is a restroom and shower, which makes camping so much easier. Although we didn’t use it, there is a large outdoor kitchen with everything you need to cook your meal. Overall, it was a positive experience and I’d definitely return.

We tent camped at the overlook and it was amazing! The view was great, there was running water and a restroom nearby. The area was very clean and well maintained. We explored the area and found the boulder cave which was pretty cool. We ran into a few people that live in the area and everyone was very friendly.

About
The appropriately named "Giant Rock" is a stunning landmark to visit on the outskirts of Joshua Tree National Park. The 25,000 ton, 7 story high, granite stone was once sacred grounds to the local tribes. Currently Giant Rock is an infamous attraction in the area and a movement to revitalize the landmark is growing!
When to go
The ideal time to visit Giant Rock is during the cooler months from October to April, when the desert heat subsides and the clear skies illuminate the vast landscape. Summer months can be intensely hot, making daytime activities less comfortable.
Know before you go
- Check weather conditions before your visit, as temperatures can vary greatly between day and night.
- Wear appropriate footwear for hiking on uneven terrain and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Be mindful of the local wildlife and maintain a safe distance at all times.
- Respect the natural environment by following Leave No Trace principles.
- Cell service may be limited, so plan accordingly and inform someone of your itinerary.
