I enjoy nomadic camping and this site was a fun go. I camped at the lower spot. Made up a fire pit and dug it low because it was windy. The wind did die down as the evening set in. Great views and pretty private. Study the maps and directions before you go. I made a wrong turn towards the end but was able to get on track pretty quickly.

Great private spot with open desert views. Off of a dirt road and we barely saw any cars. Epic sunset views, wonderfully quiet, complete with fire pit and hammock poles. The listing said there was a privacy shelter, but it was missing. So plan on bringing a pop up shelter for your portable toilet, shower, or to change. Didn’t detract from the great spot. We’ll definitely be back :) getting away from crowded campgrounds was bliss.

Exactly as advertised. If you're looking for privacy, this is it. It's just a piece of isolated desert but has great sunset views.

Dave's spot was the perfect off grid oasis. Close to Joshua Tree National Park and easy to access. Virtually no houses in sight. Easy to access in my van with simple instructions to get to the site. I wouldn't try to get there by night without having scouted it out before. Sunset and sunrise were worth being there. For me it was all about the privacy and peace of the site.

Perfect little spot for tent camping, close enough to town but far enough away for a private get away. Two spots with fire rings to choose from. Will def. be back again.

Serene and spacious. Dave's property is blissful. There is no light pollution, which makes stargazing incredible, and the sunsets and sunrises can't be missed. There is flat ground for tents, and I loved the posts for my hammock. Navigating was simple using Dave's directions and Google Maps to see where I was realtime (when to turn). There are two properties just over the hill, and during my stay both neighbors were quiet and going about their day.

Nice basic site. Out and away from things. Be cautious about the privacy stall as there is another property right behind the hill and I saw a guy looking over (which is the backside of the privacy stall since it only has 3 walls). Quiet and clean. Would go again.

Overall, we enjoyed our trip. The directions were mostly accurate; the corner of the lot is marked by orange plastic wrapped around an electric box and the first camp site doesn’t have a fire ring. The sites are quite close together, which is useful to know. Not recommended for low access vehicles (e.g. Prius) as the road isn’t maintained going to the lot. Could use a wall to block wind for tent camping.

When we first got there and set up camp, it was quiet and peaceful. The campsite is nice with a fire pit, and fire ring. At night, however, it wasn’t so peaceful. We heard ATVs drive up and down the dirt road and there was a loud party in the building right next to the campsite. The people attending the party would drive right next to our tent to get to the party. They were loud and played music all night. It wasn’t very “secluded” and we probably wouldn’t book it again. We had our kids with us and we are used to bare camps, but this was just an awful experience with the loud music. We left the next day because there was high wind warnings. The one positive is the host is reponsive and it it’s close the West entrance of Joshua Tree National park.

Really nice peaceful place away from everything. Really enjoyed the star watching with the campfire. My only recommendation is that there should be better marked directions on getting to the site from the dirt roads. Despite inputting the navigation coordinates, it was hard to find the site for me and my guests. Nonetheless we still had an awesome overall experience.

The land itself was great but getting there wasn’t. Do NOT arrive at night. There aren’t road signs and it’s hard to figure out where to go. The directions could use some revising regardless of what time you arrive. Because there is a fork in the road with no signage and if you go to the right instead of the left, you get stuck in the sand. Which we did. And had to get towed out at ten pm for three hundred bucks. And the tow truck driver said he’d been there three times in two weeks for the exact same situation of people going to this Hipcamp and making a right at the fork. But the land was private and the fire pit was great and it had nice views.

Dave’s campground was wonderful! A beautifully isolated piece of land that overlooks the majestic skyline of Joshua Tree. The hammock posts, fire ring, and privacy shield are all amenities that made our trip all the more memorable. Dave’s directions were clear and helpful.

Face was super helpful with directions to the site! This made it very easy to find. Very quiet and secluded, you really do feel alone out there which is so nice. It’s not too far off the main road to Joshua tree but far enough you feel you get away!

This spot is highly recommended for anyone who wants to really get away. The spot is primitive but with all the right supplies it's a comfortable quiet beatiful spot. We went out to Joshua Tree for the full moon and this spot was perfect for watching the sunset in the West and right after the moon rise on the East.
Dave was super at directing us to the spot....after getting there I was like this is easy to find.

Dave's campground was such a good break from being in the city. I love when a place can make me feel like I'm in the middle of nowhere and honestly I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the peace and quiet... and also some extra hammock time would have been nice too, but he's got quite a popular spot and pretty booked up.
It's nicely located relatively close to Joshua Tree National Park and had I had more time, I would have stayed there and went climbing.
Keep in mind it can get a pretty windy and you'll want to make sure to take a look at that before starting a campfire. Theres a cute little market about 2 miles from the campsite that sells firewood. I had the fire ring set up, but didn't get to light it because of the winds and spent most of the evening either cocooned in my hammock or nestled away from the wind in my car.
Theres a couple little spots to set up camp and more then enough room to have bigger groups.
Great spot for an over night adventure (beautiful sunrises and sunsets) or a weekend of relaxation.
