RV camping is one of the best ways to enjoy Yosemite National Park. The valley floor’s three primary campgrounds—North Pines, Upper Pines, and Lower Pines—all have pet-friendly RV sites with picnic tables, fire rings, bear storage lockers, restrooms, and dump station access. (Upper Pines has a year-round dump station, while Wawona and Tuolumne Meadows campgrounds have seasonal dump stations in summer.) From there, you can leave your rig parked and use the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle System to explore the valley. No Yosemite campgrounds have electric hookups, however—if you need amenities like full hookups or wifi, you’ll want to stay outside the park at an RV park or private site near towns like El Portal and Groveland (outside the western entrance) or Lee Vining (outside the eastern entrance).

Bridgeport Reservoir is a lake at the lower end of Bridgeport Valley in Mono County, California. Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice! About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A 35 minute drive on highway 120 will take you to the Tioga Pass Gate of Yosemite National Park. This gate is a great start to several different areas inside of the park that you may want to visit beyond that gate. Off-road enthusiasts would not have enough time in one visit to explore all of the 4x4 trails, abandoned mines, and sites in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town. Climate and Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomid are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal. Swimming in the lake is possible usually between April to July.

It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a tent/RV site or a camper as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to sit outside and read for days, enjoy campfires and eat s'mores. For more adventurous, there's a full slate of self-guided recreational activities, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards, bird watching, available in the area. We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guests to “unplug” and immerse in the slow paced life instead. At Paradise Shores, we believe in protecting people, animals and the planet. We make sure that the majority of products we use at our camp is recycled, composted, or re-used. We prefer to use products that are produced in a sustainable way and avoid those that aren't. We are continuously reducing the amount of waste we generate and actively promote recycling of aluminum, plastic, glass, and cardboard. We pack our own recycling and haul it to the nearest recycling facility which is an hour away. We co-opt the drive with other activities to reduce waste. We don’t use individually packaged toiletries or one-use products. We use plant and planet friendly detergent. We're based in a desert. We share our precious water with the entire planet. With only 326 million cubic miles of water on the earth, the decreasing amounts of access to quality fresh water is alarming to us. We monitor how we use water in our day-to-day activities and are constantly working on ways to reduce our consumption of fresh-water resources. We hope you can help us maintain this greener camping! We hope Paradise Shores Camp becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, and Twin Lakes, as well as the historic gold-mining town of Bodie, CA are all within a short drive from our place. We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. The excellent hiking/running trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, thousands of miles of ATV, dirt bike and mountain bike trails are accessible right from our camp or within a short drive from here. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in remote wilderness settings. Pet Policy All our RV & Tent sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation for a small fee. We can also accommodate up to two four-legged campers in our pet-friendly Baja or Tatra trailers for a small fee, we ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained. Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard. The Lost Dutchman Italian Bar Camp is a 160 acres of Priviately Owned Patented Mining land and our priviate campground located in the Stanislaus National Forest and on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, which runs through the camp. Camping is available on both side of the river making the Italian Bar camp a destination for campers since we rebuilt the camp from the ground up in the late 1970’s. Whether you want to relax in your campsite listening to the river, dip your toes in the cool waters or try your hand at panning for gold, I-Bar offers all of this and more. There are miles of hiking opportunities around the camp as well, from short river hikes to Trailblazing like the Miners of old. Little History: The property was discovered and first settled around 1849 as a gold rush mining camp. At one time over 3,000 people lived here and mined for gold. When the gold rush came to an end so did Italian Bar. Until over a hundred years later, In 1976 when our founder fell in love with this remote property and purchased the land and we began rebuilding the I-Bar camp from the ground up and opened it to our members. It didn't hurt that somewhere close by Our founder found a 800oz pocket of gold. Even today, Prospecting for gold is encouraged! If you want to try your hand at “Gettin on some of the shiny” let the Caretakers know! We have a few gold pans we loan out that are just waiting for some color to make you smile. Of course we have pans for sale. If you’re an avid outdoors person, carrying a gold pan with you just makes sense. Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. We want you to have a great stay and avoid any surprises! Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. There is lots of nature to enjoy including bird watching, seasonal wildflowers, and other wild animals. We welcome all ❤️🌈 We highly recommend not bringing any animals, including service animals. We have two livestock guardian dogs that free roam the property and they are not friendly with other animals. IMPORTANT!!! Update may 7 2026: after the last major storm, a large amount of red sand washed into the pond area, making the water currently much shallower than usual. The area can still be enjoyed, especially by small children, but swimming conditions are limited compared to before.

This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -  Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away.  Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.  Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. Important things to know: * The road to the Pull-In Dry Camp RV is gravel and easy to navigate. * The road to the remaining sites is unpaved, rocky, mountainous, and very rough. This terrain can be difficult to navigate so AWD or 4WD vehicles are recommended. Low-profile vehicles are not advised. Optional parking may be available for the hike-in. * Creeks are full in the wet season but dry up in summer. Good to know: * People who have stayed there like how quiet it is and how close it is to Yosemite. * There are other camping options nearby if Canyon Crest is booked. The South Gate to Yosemite National Park is less than a 30-minute drive (~75 minutes drive-time to the Valley floor), and Bass Lake's shores are only 15 minutes away. Local wildlife is abundant. Wild turkeys are a common sighting, especially in the spring and fall, as are squirrels, bears, deer, coyotes, and bobcats, plus all kinds of native birds (hawks, quail, jays, woodpeckers, ravens, vultures, and eagles). We have a small homestead-style farm and so do the neighbors, so you can hear the distant sounds of chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, and cows. This was our first stay here and definitley won't be our last. Things we loved: plenty of space between RVs, neighbors were very respectful of the quiet hours, very close to the pines resort village and the lake (we rode our bikes), our toddler loved the playground, the pool area looked great, and there were some trails just a short walk away! In short, it was a perfect family-friendly camping retreat.

I couldn't go in at the closest entrance from this hip camp because the HWY was closed due to a rock slide, but going through the South entrance instead was fine. The host is super responsive and nice.

Our First Hipcamp Adventure – What a Win! Dawn and I are brand new to camping, but after hearing from friends who rave about it, we decided to give Hipcamp a try. It’s such a fantastic way to find unique and special places to stay! As part of our new small business, www.elevatedbestrentals.com, we’re renting out our Tesla Cybertruck and Pebble Flow EV Trailer. This Hipcamp stay turned out to be the perfect test run on our way back home after visiting Yosemite National Park. We stayed at Red Tail Ranch and it was fantastic! Super easy to find, with a beautiful barn that gave us tons of extra space to spread out. The excellent outdoor showers and two clean, spacious bathrooms were a total game-changer. It gave us a relaxed, chill area to hang out outside the trailer and truly enjoy the property. This was a secluded, beautiful spot not far from "downtown" Oakhurst, perfect for my overnight needs. The site was level, shaded and comfortable, the waterfall sounds lulled me to sleep. Host Hudson was super helpful when I needed to tarp my small box truck, loaning a stepladder and help in the rain! The full service bath adjacent to the main house was warm, clean and comfy.

Upon arrival to my campsite I was greeted by a wonderful view! The location sits on top of a ridge that overlooks the canyon, Tuolumne falls and Tuolumne river. The hosts were great! They accommodated my stay with a campsite that allowed me access by motorcycle. Communication was great and they answered all my questions at a timely manner. There are good amenities there: warm showers and clean bathrooms. They provide a fire ring with propane for an additional cost but worth it. Access to gas and food is nearby along with a short drive into Yosemite National Park. I would recommend booking sooner than later as camp spots fill up quickly. I will definitely be booking again soon. One thing they also provide is the opportunity to go water rafting. This will be something I consider on my next stay. We had a fantastic stay at the RedTail Ranch. The grounds were beautiful and well conserved. The signage was excellent and clear. The communal areas were cozy and useful.
