It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled
all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. What you CANNOT run: Running your trailer’s built-in Air Conditioning, microwave, electric coffee pots, or hair dryers will instantly trip the breaker. Please plan to run any high-heat appliances or climate control off your trailer
• Security: The property is fully gated and off-street. You will receive a secure gate code for easy, private entry.

I loved parking my campervan here. It had everything I needed and more for a comfortable stay. Was just looking to reset, fill up water, do laundry, get a nice hot shower, etc. before doing the PCH. Also traveling as a solo female, safety is important to me, so I appreciated that the spot was inside a gated, private driveway.

Wonderful campground with a great staff! Our spot overlooked the beach, which was a nice welcome as we arrived, and we couldn't see the street. We also enjoyed the fish and chips at the restaurant below. It's a wonderful spot overall.

We enjoyed our van camping at Malibu. Easy to reserve the site online. Employees were friendly and helpful. Site was level and hookups were all good. We had a no view site, but we were able to see the beach and listen to the waves crashing all night. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views all around the RV camp. Clean restrooms and nicely kept grounds. Small market has a lot of nice snacks, some fridge meals, beer, wine and other RV kitchen goods. A bit pricey but not really other options along the coast other than often booked state campgrounds. Stayed here on and off about 10 days.

I enjoyed my stay here very much! As others mentioned the sites are close together but just like other beach towns you put as many spots in as you can when you have views like this. I loved the landscaping. It was jaw dropping. The store had a great selection and the music on the weekend was a great plus. This is place is worth every penny.

Extraordinary. More than I’d hoped for to be honest. Hookups for power and water are amazing to have at each site - beyond that the gift shop has actual good stuff like a mini sprouts grocery! and laundry on site is a HUGE bonus. The ocean access right across the road is amazing. And the nonstop sound of the ocean at the campsite is just divine. I extended my stay to be here for ten days and I’ll definitely be back again next spring. The road cycling out the door is world class and the hiking right next door on solstice canyon is magical. I can’t rave about this spot enough.

I was so thankful to find this spot. I was in the area for work for 2+ weeks, and as somebody that normally boondocks in forests I couldn't rationalize $100+ night rv resorts. Richard was quick to respond to our request to book, and provided all the information we needed to get there late in the night. We were surprised to have an extension cord for a 15a plug, which really was a nice bonus. The property is secure, and I felt comfortable leaving our rig while I was away at work during the day. We didn't have the opportunity to meet Richard directly, but he was super quick to respond to questions I had while there. We were also surprised to learn we could do laundry on site. The dryer is free, and the washer is 85 cents (3 quarters and a dime). The only downside is that the alley going down to the property is VERY tight and steep. We didn't have a problem getting down, but coming back up we had a clearance issue coming back onto the street. There's a slight dip where the alley levels down to the street and we had to use traction boards and our leveling blocks to keep our rearend high enough to clear our poop tube. If you have low clearance, just be aware and prepared to take some extra steps on your way out. I read some reviews about trucks being parked in the alley while folks were doing work on the property, but I can't complain because the guys working were always super quick to get their things moved out of the way when I was coming and going. This is a gorgeous location! The only downside was lack of access to the restrooms after nightfall, plus the communal sink had no soap. There is a shower that you can access with a code provided from the camp host, but it was not up to my standard for cleanliness.

This is not your camp in a tent location, trailer or car camp in the parking lot only. Toilets available and water when the state allows (not during drought).
