10/10!!! The land is so beautiful and such a special place in the desert away from the crowds. Shayna was there to greet us and lead us to our camping spot! We would absolutely come back!

Boulder Gardens Sanctuary was amazing. We camped at the Overlook, which had an absolutely beautiful view. Shayna was there to greet us when we arrived and led us to our spot.

I came with a group of 13 people and stayed at the large campsite. The location was stunning, with beautiful views and a peaceful desert atmosphere. However, there were limited flat areas for setting up tents, and the restroom and water access were a bit far from our site. For the price, I expected a little more privacy—nearby campers were easily heard and sometimes wandered over to enjoy the view from our spot. Overall, I’d recommend this property for the smaller, more affordable campsites, which seem better suited for the experience.

The views here were stunning! Hosts were always responsive and super helpful to answer any questions. There's definitely enough space to explore and go in a hike or two. Porta potty was extremely clean.

Everyone at the site was warm, friendly and helpful. Some great dogs as well. The on site facilities were well maintained, including the outdoor kitchen. I would definitely recommend this site!

The yoga deck was the perfect spot to camp. The views are amazing and it’s only a short walk to toilet and community kitchen. I love how the boulders surround the yoga deck. A magical experience. The hosts were amazing. Thank you so much!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed at the Primitive Site and it was incredible — peaceful, clean, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The energy of the place is so calm and grounding. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel completely welcome. It was one of the most relaxing trips we’ve ever had, and we honestly can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend Boulder Gardens Sanctuary to anyone looking for a truly serene getaway!

Overlook site lived up to the name with insane views of the iconic Joshua Tree boulders. Feels nice and secluded, away from the crowds at the national park. Hosts were sweet, accommodating and easy to get a hold of. There’s tons of space to explore and hike without encountering other campers but knowing they’re near enough to not feel too isolated out in the desert. Running hose water and porta potty were a great bonus.

Special place for sure. Prime high desert terrain with the most pristine plant and tree specimens, dispersed by the greatest of gardeners, among care-free and surreally strewn pink granite boulders whose scale bewilders your senses when you move around and over and between them.

Lovely property and experience!

I had friends visiting from Texas and we decided to have a "Let's F Off" weekend - we had such a lovely time on the property. It was raining the day before so Shayna and her partner were kind enough to allow us to switch sites from the Geodome to the campsite right next to it as the ground was muddy and shaded from the sun. They also graciously helped us set up a whole new tent that could easily fit us all. The land itself is absolutely stunning. Think of Joshua Tree National Park without all the cars and people. Just pure serenity and tranquility. PLUS, for the same-ish fee as JT National Park, you get to stay overnight here! While we were there, we saw other cars at other campsites, but I did not hear other people for the entire weekend. In fact, it was quite trippy at night to lie down underneath the milky way in pure silence. I could see myself coming back here every other month on a solo motorcycle camping trip. The place and people felt very safe and welcoming, and I highly recommend booking with them if you, like us, need to just F off for the weekend :)

The Sanctuary is a beautiful and peaceful place to be, it's a great getaway from society! The best spot to watch sunrise and sunset, and the night sky is spectacular. Will definitely stay here again in the future!

I loved camping at the boulder garden sanctuary, coming here is always a restorative experience and I’ve never seen anything else quite like it. This place is perfect for nature enthusiasts, art lovers, and anyone looking to camp/spend some time somewhere beautiful and remote. The hosts here are very welcoming, the art installations are captivating, and the views incredible. This stop is a must if you’re traveling by!

Shayna (and dogs!) greeted me at check in and showed me to my campsite - I slept at the geodome site and the surrounding boulders were otherworldly! Easy and friendly check in, clean facilities, gorgeous views and great wildlife. Saw lots of birds, rabbits, bats, and not a single other human. Great stargazing too! Highly recommend!

A hidden Gem!

Great place & great vibes. My husband and i were planning on leaving the campground to go for a hike in Joshua tree but the place had some many areas to explore we opted in to staying at the campsite. The stargazing at night was incredible. Better than Joshua Tree in my opinion. They had a very clean porta potty you can use but it’s not your one and you share it with another camp site or two. This was no problem at all for us as we never ran i to anyone else using it while there. They have 2 areas with wifi, really good wifi actually in case you need to use it to get directions on where to leave to. We stayed at the Buddha cave. Loved it! BUT if you stay here know there is a bit of a walk to get to the actual campsite. We don’t recommend sleeping in the cave as you can’t see the stars that well from there . Everyone there was nice. I am normally a chicken when camping and never get sleep because every sound wakes me up but the place had such a good vibe i felt safe and was actually able to get a good nights sleep.

100% recommend. This was the most incredible spot with epic boulder climbing all around. Clean porta potties and friendly people who live on site. Make sure you say hi to Rick and his rattlesnakes and Budda, their friendly dog. We only stayed one night but could have stayed much longer.

I loved tent camping on Shayna’s property! She was super friendly and the property was absolutely beautiful! There were a few other groups camping the same night as our group, but it was still very quiet and peaceful. This site was really close to Pioneertown, which was great. Thanks Shayna!

Boulder Nook

We had a great time spending the weekend at the sanctuary, if you're looking for a place to unplug and connect to the desert, I highly reccomend it. Everyone there is very welcoming, one of the local dogs took us on a hike and dropped us back off at our campsite, you can tell he has done that before. The boulder nook site was private but primative so make sure you bring everything you need. Would love to visit again soon.

This property is a true sanctuary of natural desert boulder beauty and panoramas so be prepared to take lots of stunning pictures from sunrise to sunset. It is also a sanctuary of quiet for rest, refresh and recharging the soul. Occasionally this can be interrupted by a high flying jet liner, but mostly the only sound you will hear are the desert birds and sometimes the communities peacocks. Exploring among the boulder ridges was wonderful. Shayna is a wonderful caring host and made sure the camp site was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to the owner and Shayna for a much needed sanctuary away from the rat race of city life.
