It's a very quiet and peaceful spot. I'm a female that ended up in a situation where I have to car camp. I felt very safe here. I ended up coming quite late and the host still answered the phone to make sure I got where I needed to be. I will definitely be going back.

Weekend Trip to SB Mountain Cabin Rentals

Angel's Nest is a gem - especially at the price! It's a beautiful mountain cabin that has family entertainment in mind. We played shuffleboard all afternoon and switched it up with the arcade machine and basketball; the kids had a blast! Really lovely kitchen, bedrooms and living areas as well! Great for a family mountain getaway. Only warning is: there are lots of stairs and a very steep driveway. Keep that in mind when if that's an issue for you. Martin was also very responsive and hospitable! We will definitely be back!

Great location next to Rim of the World scenic drive to Big Bear Lake. Steep drive to get to camp not too far off the highway. We did fine with our 28ft trailer pulled by a passenger van. Appreciated being able to add on produce/honey from the farm. Would stay again!

It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. So to keep in the spirit of ethical sustainability along with ensuring a high quality and great tasting product, we purchase ingredients from local organic farmers and shelf products that not only have the USDA Organic seal, but are non-GMO, ethically harvested and in some cases certified Kosher. The White Lodge is a private home owned by the creator of Hicksville Trailer Palace and Hicksville Pines Bud and Breakfast. Although Morgan(the owner) has retired, he's made his property to feel as if you're in the middle of the woods complete with swimming hole, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, sauna and more! Our trailer and cave shower entrance are on the smaller size and may not be comfortable for larger bodied individuals. We are closed June-August because the trailer has no A/C and we're too busy with our Swimply pool business. You can book it only as an add-on for pool guests during that time. There’s not much you can’t do at Prado Regional Park in Chino. This 2,000-acre park in the Chino Valley basin features nature and biking trails, a lake for fishing and paddling, a playground with a splash pad, picnic areas, an archery range, two 18-hole golf courses, a disc golf course, an equestrian center, and the Prado Olympic Shooting Park, home to shooting events in the 1984 Olympics. Alongside these facilities is a well-equipped campground featuring tent and RV campsites with full hookups, fire pits, picnic tables, dump station access, restrooms, and showers. Just 30 minutes from Anaheim and 45 minutes from Los Angeles, Prado Regional Park offers campers stellar views of the surrounding Southern California hills and mountains.

Tips for snagging a campsite

All 75 Prado Regional Park campsites are available by reservation only.
Reservations open one year in advance and can be made online or by calling (877) 387-2757.
The park occasionally hosts events or festivals, so check the San Bernardino County website to time your visit during or around these events.

When to go

Prado Regional Park is open year-round, as weather is temperate in fall, winter, and spring. Spring is an especially great time to visit, when the surrounding hills are green from winter rain and wildflowers pop up throughout the area. Summers are hot, with average highs in the 90s—tent campers may find cooler summer temperatures at Orange County’s nearby beach campgrounds, such as that in Crystal Cove State Park.

Know before you go

A concessionaire provides pedal boat rentals on Prado’s lake, while a boat launch is available for kayaks, canoes, and rowboats.
Fishing is allowed year-round on the Prado Regional Park lake, which is stocked with catfish between May and September, then trout from November to April. A fishing license is required.
The on-site Prado Park Equestrian Center offers riding lessons and horseback rides.
Prado Regional Park is just a few miles east of the much larger Chino Hills State Park, which is a good alternative if you want a campground that feels a little more immersed in nature.
