Escape to Tranquility – A Peaceful High Desert Retreat Nestled on 2.5 acres of peaceful high-desert land, Casa Zen is a place to step away from the noise and pace of city life. Lovingly created and maintained by a husband-and-wife team, the property has been evolving over the past five years—and we continue to add new spaces and experiences as the land grows with us. Surrounded by beautiful mountain and desert views, minimal traffic, open skies, and plenty of quiet, Casa Zen was created as an intentional space for slowing down and reconnecting with yourself and nature. Whether you want to journal, read, meditate, move your body, or simply sit in stillness, there are little spaces throughout the property to make your own. Our amenities include a handmade outdoor stone cold shower surrounded by plants, a rustic outhouse restroom, and our newest addition—a private cedar sauna available for guests to enjoy. Throughout the property, you’ll also find simple opportunities for movement and grounding. Hang or do pull-ups from our outdoor bar, walk the land barefoot, or challenge your balance on our circle of eight massive boulders—each weighing approximately 1,500 pounds and positioned close enough together to step from stone to stone at your own pace. Much of what you see at Casa Zen has been built, planted, collected, or created by our own hands. The property continues to grow and change, so returning guests may discover something new each time they visit. Come escape the city, breathe the high-desert air, enjoy the silence, and experience a slower and simpler pace of life. Property Size: 2.5 Acres

My family and I booked a last minute stay here and the hosts were incredibly accommodating, despite short notice. They set up a campfire for us upon arrival and made us feel welcome. The site was spacious with plenty of room for a large tent. We appreciated the clean bathroom and beautiful outdoor shower. Would recommend.

Casa zen is a great spot for camping not just for adults but for children as well. Ric has put a great deal of effort and creativity in creating a space that is relaxing, quiet, and still had amenities. My sons enjoyed spending time there and enjoyed seeing the animals Ric has as well. Ric had truly thought through how he wants to share his land and is constantly making improvements based on feedback from campers. I enjoyed my time there and the conversation.

I loved my overnight stay at Casa Zen! It was a great way to escape the city life and relax in a beautiful desert environment. My campsite was a peaceful and quiet place to read, write and recharge. Night time by the fire, and a beautiful starry night added to the vibe. Looking forward to my next visit! 😊

I really enjoyed tent camping on Ric's land. They have an amazing set up. The outdoor shower is absolutely gorgeous! Its a great spot to escape the city. Ric and his wife were very friendly as well.

So happy to see this beautiful space now on hipcamp! I've had the chance to attend a gathering at Casa Zen, and it's truly a peaceful, open, and welcoming place. Perfect for those seeking a quiet overnight stay under the stars- with outdoor grilling, a refreshing rock shower, and a calming meditation circle. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to return!

A true place of zen.

Casa zen was a relaxing, calm stay. Great place to get away from all the city noise. It’s located on a small town in piñon hills of a dirt road. At arrival Rick greeted me and gave me a quick tour of the place. He’s a very friendly host. Place has just enough for a city person to feel comfortable but also just enough to make it feel like a campgrounds get away. Place has a shower, picnic benches, a bbq area and a fire pit. The night sky was beautiful and the noise at night was almost non existent. Got to see a bit of wild life as well. I would definitely head out to this location again.

Ric’s property was beautiful, quiet and clean. The camping area, the bathroom and the hand-built outdoor shower were so nice. We were only able to stay for a little while, but it was just the spot that we needed. Close to lots of beautiful mountain and desert areas to explore, and some quaint cafes. Grateful for Ric’s hospitality. We will definitely stay again.
