The Nook Lake Arrowhead
Loved our weekend staycation here! Abby was so communicative and helpful leading up to the trip and get around the area (due to dirt roads, etc). The home was the perfect size for us (two humans and a pup) and was so cozy.

The Nook was the perfect place to honeymoon for two people who wanted to have peace, nature, and privacy. We arrived during a storm and would not have made it to the property if we hadn’t had four wheel drive, no doubt. It’s just remote enough - we could still drive into town easily but were surrounded by woods and wildlife. It had everything we needed and more, and our stay was perfect.

The Nook is AMAZING! Don't even question it, it is a perfect get away, trails throughout the area, privacy and surrounded by nature. Bring that 4WD and prepare to enjoy :)

Loved staying at the Nook. It was so peaceful and comfy. We had everything that we needed. Just brought clothes and food. I would definitely recommend to stay at the Nook if you want some peace and quiet.

Thank you guys so much for an excellent birthday weekend. Such great hosts greeted us the evening of our arrival and even put a happy birthday flag out with very short notice . Cabin is secluded with only the sounds of nature which was exactly what we were looking for. Still close enough to town to not be inconvenient. Definitely will be coming back.

The Nook is truly a special place. It is tucked away in the woods, and on the quietest road you can imagine. I don't think I saw a car driving by the while time we were there so if you are looking for true peace and quiet, this is it!
The property itself has so many amenities, like a fully stocked kitchen, painting nook, tons of boardgames and books. It also has a TV for cozy movie nights!
The bedrooms were SO cozy too and the bathroom even had a jetted tub!!
We were so sad to leave the Nook, and are already planning our trip back.

We had a wonderful long weekend in the mountains at The Nook. Abby, our host was very responsive and helpful. The cabin was clean, cozy and well stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend. The dirt road was a bit of a challenge but after a couple times back and forth you figure it out. Would stay there again.

The Nook was such a cozy respite with a lovely view of the land. The house was surrounded by trees, birds and critters, and Abby was a kind and helpful host. I look forward to returning to this corner of the woods!

What a treasure! The Nook was a peaceful, rejuvenating place that I am so happy my dog and I stayed at! Besides it being spacious and cozy at the same time, it is extremely clean, safe and perfectly decorated! The Nook had everything I needed exactly when I needed it. It felt like it was created knowing what I needed or wanted before I even knew. Most thoughtful kind family that hosts you and by the end of your stay you find yourself leaving a new home away from home. More than worth the stay. *It is 8 min away from town, hikes, huge park and go get a spa day pass at the local resort! So much to do!*

The Nook is one of those special places to escape the chaos of everyday life and let yourself unwind. It’s a place to think, a place to rest and a place to make memories that will last a lifetime. Our stay at the Nook allowed us to enjoy all those things and more.
With the feel of stepping back in time to a more simpler era, the Nook provided everything we needed but still had the comforts of modern day. Games and activities were within arms length when a roll of the dice would fill it with laughter and competition. A well stocked library of books filled the shelves to let us curl up in the hammock along side the creek and learn about far off lands. It was fun exploring and admiring knickknacks from around the globe sprinkled throughout the Nook. Each wandering glance spotted something new, it was like a never ending treasure hunt.
Only minutes to town to enjoy everything Lake Arrowhead has to offer, The Arrowhead Queen boat tour is one thing you don’t want to miss. We enjoyed learning the history of the lake and seeing the special houses and lives that dot its banks.
The Nook is filled with everything you could possibly need and then some. And in the even there was something we needed or could not find, Abby was always a short text or call away.
Our next trip to the Nook can’t come soon enough. Until then, we will practice the “Nook Life” in our heads to calm things down when the grind of everyday life becomes too much.

We had a magical getaway and truly enjoyed our time at the Nook. The cabin is full of characters. Driving on the dust road is not easy and manageable. Abby is super responsive and nice.

The Nook (even though it is cute on its listing) completely exceeded expectations. The hosts have clearly put so much effort into curating and maintaining a warm cabin and cozy experience for their guests. Very close to great hiking and adventuring, and The Nook is well-stocked and so lovingly decorated. We visited in January with snow on the ground and we’re so warm and at home. Hosts were easily accessible and very helpful and kind. We will be back!

My fiancé and I and our dog stayed here for a couple of nights over New Years Eve. We wanted to disconnect and recharge before the start of the year. This cabin was absolutely perfect for us. The house was clean and beautifully decorated, had plenty of books and games, the kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook, and they even left a few treats for us! The bed was super comfy and there were plenty of blankets. We were never cold. We saw deer walking around the house and also went on a hike to Deep Creek where there are hot springs! It was amazing. The conditions of the road to/from the house will depend on the weather. It had rained a lot before we arrived which made it a bit more difficult but we went there with a bmw 3 series and managed.
We spoke with Abby and her parents and they were such wonderful people. We are looking forward to coming back!

Incredible Thanksgiving weekend at The Nook! Such a dream of a space, we’ll definitely be back.
Logistics:
-House is well stocked (kitchen supplies, bedding, board games, etc). All you really need to bring is food, a book, and a sweater.
-There is now a tv with Roku in the living room. Wifi is great and you should have no issue streaming shows.
-This is a beautiful rural setting! The road to the house is definitely a country road, take it slow, 4WD will be absolutely required in the winter but wasn’t necessary when we were there

I don’t normally write reviews, but this time I felt it was important. The cabin itself is beautiful and very well stocked (spices, dish wear, pots/pans, bathroom has soaps, bubble bath, lotions and shampoos/conditioner). The owners were super friendly, and let us check in a little early. They even had welcome gifts like pretzels, candies, beer, and s. pellegrino. The cabin was clean and had beautiful decor. There is also a portable cuisinart grill in the laundry closet, which was a nice bonus. HOWEVER, the dirt road to get to the cabin was EXTREMELY underplayed. We were scared we were going to pop a tire every time we came in or out. The dirt road is very long, has boulders/rocks in the way, huge potholes, pipes sticking out, and very steep inclines. If you have a little Sudan or an old car I’m not even sure you could make it the 0.4 mi on the dirt road to the cabin (4WD strongly recommend). God forbid if you were heading out there in rain or snow. It was also near impossible to park by the cabin without blocking the road, not to mention a nightmare to turn around to leave. It’s possible the rain this year did a number on the road and it wasn’t this bad before, but now it is in dire need of repair. The road definitely made us not want to leave the cabin as much, which was especially unfortunate considering the cabin doesn’t have a TV. Although I will say exploring the trail behind the cabin was lovely, and so quiet compared to the other more public hikes in the area.

I wish I could keep this secret little hideaway just for myself, but the nook deserves all the hype! The cabin is perfectly equipped and everything is thoughtfully placed, you’ll want for nothing except to stay longer. If you are living in the city and wanting to get out into nature the nook will cleanse your soul. we spent the weekend hiking right from the backyard into the woods where there are amazing trails and incredible scenery, enjoying the full kitchen, and birdwatching in the sunroom. the drive up through he mountains is beautiful and there’s so much to check out around the lake and sky forest. If you have a kid i’m sure they will love their own room, it was so cute i almost wanted to sleep in there rather than the master. the place is amazing and will feel like a home away from home, and of course thanks to the awesome host abby! if you are afraid to be a little out of the way in the wilderness fear not the knowledgeable abby is super responsive and totally on top of things. i can’t wait to come back ❤️

We had the most amazing weekend at The Nook in Lake Arrowhead! It was the most beautiful, quaint little cottage you could imagine- down to every little detail. Abby and her family have it so well kept with everything you could possibly need and more. Do not pass up this experience if you’re looking for a peaceful mountain getaway!

we had the most magical weekend at the nook! cottage was warm, cozy, and inviting with so many thoughtful extra touches, it felt absolutely tailor made for our stay. We were there for 4th of July weekend, and Catherine provided us with everything we could have ever hoped for:, from where and when to catch the fireworks over the lake to leaving out little treats for us (wine and soda water) and the kids (twizzlers and popcorn)...right down to the two little American flags for the kids to wave throughout the weekend. and the inside of the cottage itself had wonder in every corner. A kids bedroom even adorned little light up squirrels in the window as a night light. there are not enough good things to say in a short review like this, so we’ll just conclude by saying we will be back! We need to check it out during the winter for sure, but we will definitely be back next summer!

The Nook Lake Arrowhead
I don't usually write reviews for anything but my family had a wonderful time at the Nook. The cabin was adorable, clean with lots of charm. Our host was nothing but kind and made us feel welcomed at home. It's somewhat secluded off a dirt road but still easily drivable. We were there for Father's day weekend and we've discussed making the Nook a yearly visit.

The Nook Lake Arrowhead
My husband and I spent the weekend here and had the best time! The cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed, including snacks, coffee, wine, and spices + oil for cooking. We found a trail just off the property line and enjoyed a couple-mile hike. We plan to come back to experience the magic during another season.
