Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. We are most famous for our honey, peaches and figs, but also grow apples, pears, persimmon, blackberries, greens, bay leaf, white sage and more.For years , we were WWOOF hosts (look it up ;-) and resisted opening up Cold Creek to traffic associated with daily camping arrivals, but we finally found the perfect spots for visitors to park their RVs, spend a quiet night and visit the orchard by foot.We are now excited by the prospect of focusing on expanding our micro-farming and inviting campers to look over our shoulders.

As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

My family and I went tent camping on Shane’s land and it was great. The camp sites were far apart enough that it felt secluded, which we loved especially because we didn’t have to share a portal toilet. My daughter enjoyed seeing the animals in their animal sanctuary. Would recommend for small families.

We had a nice weekend at Holcomb ranch. The property is kept up very well, safe, clean and peaceful. At check in, Ed called ahead with detailed directions to the site. There are markers on the trees identifying the sites making it super easy. The sites are large enough to have a nice distance from neighbors. Overall, we had a great time and will be back.

Right next to Pioneertown. Nobody else was there so we were able to grab one of the few shady spots. Friendly helpful host. I felt it was a little expensive for that facility.

Such a wonderful second stay at Holcomb Valley ranch! Beautiful views into the meadow, quiet campsite and with great amenities of outhouses, potable water, trash dump, and showers (although we didn’t use these). We really enjoyed our stay :)

2 nights at Get Lost Inn - Cabin Rentals

Me and my 2 kids loved our stay at the Dragonfly Inn. The views from the house were absolutely stunning. My kids loved the loft, they turned it into a hideout for themselves during our stay. Everything was very neat and clean. Loved everything about the inn. Using the fire-pit, and stargazing at night was the highlight of the stay. Martin was a great host. He was very attentive to all our requests and responded to our inquiries very promptly. Already recommended to few other friends!

1 night at New Yurt City

Had a wonderful stay, besides the wind it's was amazing! Definitely going back soon! The host was helpful and responsive. It was my first time camping in the desert and my boyfriend's first time camping ever and we both had a wonderful experience here.

2 nights at Get Lost Inn - Cabin Rentals

My family had a wonderful mid week getaway to Green Valley Lake. Get Lost Inn’s cabin was great with three different floors. The kids loved having their own space. We did a little day trip to Lake Arrowhead, swam in the Green Valley Lake, did a little fishing, and played some board games. All in all a fantastic time.

Weekend Trip to Bowen Ranch Deep Creek Hot Springs

We went in mid June and it was gorgeous! Still got pretty cold at night as you are practically in the desert so bring a good quilt or blankets. The hike to the hot springs is amazing with some cool views. I would say its a pretty easy hike for experienced hikers but medium to hard for beginners. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and extra bags - I saw trash along the hike and down at the hot springs which is so sad to see and ruins it for others - Overall, it was a beautiful spot and much cleaner than other hot springs I've been to. Leave it better!! Leave No Trace!!

Great proximity to Pappy and Harriets if you are coming in for a show. Only thing I think needs improvement is the general information about the site and check in. Otherwise - good dry camping.

Fantastic place to get away from city life fully immersed in nature. Lots of space between campsites was an unexpected bonus. Directions were precise and easy to follow. Appreciated the Campfire ring with big buckets for ease of putting out the fires and staying safe. The Porta potties were spaced out and close to each site. Views are amazing and the meadow with horses grazing brought us a lot of joy! Our dog loved it too! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Holcomb Valley Ranch

This was our second time here. Check in was very easy. Our campsite was perfect, the grounds are beautiful. There was a wedding going on that was pretty loud into the night but that means we don’t have to be real quiet either so I’m cool with that. The bathrooms are clean and I think the showers are a new addition. There’s tons of off roading trails around and walking around the meadow is beautiful

From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on. Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. About

Just west of Los Angeles, Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area is a popular spot for day use and overnight visitors alike, offering ample hiking trails, picnic areas, and biking and horseback riding opportunities, plus a massive lake that's ideal for kayaking and waterskiing. The park's Mesa Campground offers 136 campsites with fire rings (including RV sites with full hookups), plus showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Seven tent sites are designated for hikers, many of whom are braving the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs through the park. There are also three group campgrounds with picnic tables, barbecue grills, restrooms, and showers.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Campsites can be reserved up to six months in advance on the California State Parks website or over the phone. Same-day reservations are also available.
It’s a good idea to book as early in advance as you can, particularly if you have your heart set on a summer weekend stay.
The maximum length for RVs is 30 feet (24 feet for campers). If your RV/trailer is too long, you'll need to look elsewhere or consider tent camping instead.
If you can’t secure a spot at Silverwood Lake SRA, look into camping in the adjacent San Bernardino National Forest instead.

When to go

Summer is the busiest time at Silverwood, and the weather is at its hottest from July through September. October is a great time to visit, when the crowds are fewer and temperatures are still warm, with average highs in the mid-70s. Winters are mild, with average temperatures in the 40s and 50s. While it may be too cold to hang out on the lake, it’s worth visiting to attend one of the winter bald eagle tours, which take place from January through March.

Know before you go

You can pick up groceries and supplies in Hesperia, a few minutes from the park by car.
While park staff tests Silverwood Lake for blue-green algae weekly, there's still a risk of coming in contact with the harmful bacteria. To keep safe, avoid getting water in your mouth, don’t swim with open cuts, and make a point of showering after spending time on the lake.
Dogs are allowed at the campground, but are not allowed on the swimming beaches.
Fire bans are common during high-risk periods, but camp stoves are generally still allowed.
