Located an hour drive from the bay area, Camp Cruz is a year-round glamping retreat in the redwoods ideal for people who want a private outdoor getaway in the forest without giving up basic living comforts. It's a perfect destination to unwind, recharge, and create special memories in nature. We are also only 30 minutes from Monterey/Santa Cruz for guests who want to enjoy the beaches and coastal cities. We offer guests 2 private bedrooms: the Raven’s Nest (an aircrete dome) and the Owl’s Nest (a yurt). Larger groups are welcome, and should bring camping gear such as tents and sleeping bags for extra people. We have plenty of great camping spots!
There is a fully equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, barbecue grill, electric coffee maker, tables and chairs, and more. The kitchen also has a ping pong table. There is a large geodome furnished as a game room with couches, a lounge area, pool table, foosball table, a bluetooth speaker, games, and music equipment. There are clean composting toilets, hot showers, a wood-burning fire pit, heaters for the cold, a hammock bungalow, a meditation pagoda, a deck overlooking a creek, and disc golf baskets. With a fair balance of sunlight and shade, we have a garden and lots of open space to spread out and relax. Free wifi is available. We run a nonprofit outdoor education camp for underprivileged youth, so your stay supports our work to get youth outdoors.
Winter lodging....
It can get seasonably cold in the Santa Cruz Mountains during the winter. If visiting in the winter, rest assured we have everything covered to enjoy your stay. We have propane heaters for warmth and comfort. If the power goes out, we have a standby generator that will power up camp provided we are home to turn it on. We have woodstoves in the Owl's Nest and Eagle's Nest. We provide a fire starter log for each woodstove for each night of your stay, and guests are responsible for bringing firewood to keep the woodstoves going.

We have 20 magical acres in beautiful rural McCloud with The Dome right on the creek. With the creek as your view, you’ll have privacy and many acres to roam.
This is sacred land, we hold events here on this property such as CE5 and Spirit Photography. We have been on Beyond Skinwalker Ranch and a few other tv series.
Loads of wildlife roam these lands so be prepared to see bear, coyote, deer, fox and many species of birds including a Heron live down by the creek. Be mindful of not keeping any food in your car and making sure to place it in the fridge inside the dome.
We are 6 miles away from the McCloud reservoir, 15 mins from McCloud Falls, 5 mins from the town of McCloud and 20 mins to Mount Shasta.
The Dome sleeps 2 adults, has electric, 2 bed side lamps that charge phones, with a pillow top mattress, kitchen bar with hot water kettle, a french press, a dining table set, coat rack, and a hammock.
We do not have a cook top stove, or microwave , plan to eat out as it’s safer and we don’t get trash service here, I cart it all out myself. Bringing snacks totally ok and can go in the fridge. There’s no fires of any kind that we can allow here so no bbq or cooking. We know all the good spots and will gladly share them.
The Composting toilet is one of the best on the market, called Natures Head. It’s located outside of the dome for privacy in camp tent with everything you’ll need inside.
The outdoor shower is located near the main home, but built into the forest and private. We like to give guests what we would want to experience, and it turned out pretty fantastic. Shampoo, conditioner, Body soap will be provided for you here.
There are bugs, There are wildlife, this is a glamping experience so please know that when you book, you will know what you’re getting. Although this is luxury glamping it’s still glamping

We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here, are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. Please note the Cabin is set on a seasonal CANNABIS garden. All three sites are vacation spots with AC and WIFI, not just simple accommodations, but experiences. This will be your memorable stay for the year!
The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or drive 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants. 10 minutes to Intersate 80 in Colfax. Feels far away, yet close to services and the interstate.
We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors, so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! You can hoot and holler and have a great time!
In summer there is a 3-night minimum for the cabin and dome. Occasionally a two day midweek will pop up on the schedule last minute. To see correct pricing, enter your dates and number of adventurers, as they can fluctuate with holidays, weekends. Prices are decreased midweek.
We have 3 accommodations on the property
-A GUEST SUITE (lakeside), up to 5 people.

Husband and I booked Starlight Outpost for our anniversary and oh my gosh, pictures do no do it justice! The space is absolutely darling with so many cute details! It was so peaceful and quiet and magical. Would HIGHLY recommend a stay here. The whole experience was great! Comfy bed, clean and peaceful space, just perfection! We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Sunrise & Sunset storybook Retreat
If you’re seeking a peaceful escape from a hectic work week, you’ve come to the right spot!
The views were absolutely stunning! The rolling green hills, serene lakes, horses, and the wildlife.
We had a blast on the tennis court! The sunset was simply breathtaking!
And one more thing, the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive! Such cool people!
I’ll definitely visit again.

Went with our 2 large rescue dogs and they loved it. The place was clean and well equiped. It was cold outside at night but the heater worked great. Instructions on how to reach the parking were detailed and easy to follow. Its a really great spot and so close to LA. If you bring your pets, a set of shoes for your furry friends would be a good idea due to the broken glass that pops up in the sand around the area. Our dogs had shoes so no worries for them. As with any off grid space in the California desert, wildlife is a thing to be aware of. There was a family of large coyotes that passed by one afternoon, so keep any eye on your pets. Would definitely come back to enjoy the spot again.

This property is perfect for a private and quiet getaway. The fully fenced yard made us feel completely at ease bringing our dog, and it was clear that every little detail had been thoughtfully considered. From plush robes for the jacuzzi and a projector for a cozy evening movie, to a telescope for stargazing, ample firewood for the perfect s'more, and even art supplies for those feeling creative. Everything was provided to make the stay special. We absolutely loved our time here and can't wait to return.

The campsite was gorgeous! It was fully equipped with amenities to help us have a cozy experience. The only amenity that we wished we could improve were the porta potties, but we were fully prepared because it is still camping!
The hike was as advertised.. advanced. Be prepared for slippery rocks, boulders, potentially wading through the creek if you don’t want to jump, frogs, mosquitoes, & spiders. In the end, the waterfall was definitely worth the hike & nature sightings!
The host was BEYOND ATTENTIVE, thoughtful, responsive, warm, and friendly. We had a group of 10, and for the majority of us - it was our first time camping. Harmony & her team answered all of our questions prior to and after booking, checked on us during the stay, and ensured a safe checkout after the rain.
We felt very safe, welcomed, and one with nature & we will definitely be back!

This place is an off the grid gem. My family and I achieved maximum levels of Hygge while staying in Eli’s dome. I dropped a skillet right on top of the wood burning stove and made pancakes while my girls cozied up in the king sized bed. Then the doggy and the chickens came right up to our door to say hello. Eli is a very warm and accommodating host. Viewing the stars right out of the dome made the whole trip worth it. Great spot for a digital detox or a home base to visit Orr or Vichy hot springs.

Wow! This place was magical. Nestled under a canopy of trees by a babbling brook, a spacious tent with round windows that look onto the stars. Not one but two hammocks, one suspended above the flowing water. A fire pit. A stove that sits on an exquisitely designed wooden table. Harmony is a wonderful, charming host. Do the hike to the waterfall if you dare. We did it with a 4 and a 6 year old and they were glad that they did, even if there was some complaining along the way.

Everything about my time at Starlight Outpost was amazing. I loved the decor and the whimsy - and also the quiet and serenity. Wasn’t sure how rustic it would end up being, but they have really thought of everything - it was beyond comfortable, with great WiFi and a super responsive host. Cannot recommend more highly!

1 night at The Hilltop Getaway
This place was so fun and peaceful to stay at! Will be back for sure. It had great views, great amenities, and easy access to a town about 10 minutes out where you can get anything you need. Loved the projector and pull down screen to enjoy movies and cuddle up in the cutest dome tent for the evening.

We checked out this morning and are already looking at the calendar for when we will go back. Recruiting friends to go with us. Sending the pics to family and friends. This place is a gem. It’s stunning views. The owner is the nicest guy—super helpful and welcoming and kind. We did the glamping dome option—it had all the basics we needed so we barely had to touch our camping gear, and could have packed so much lighter! It’s just so charming and comfortable. We were in heaven—such an easy distance to find such a beautiful respite. Definitely go to the Critter Camp to feed the babies. But also just get your coffee and walk to the gorgeous observation deck—you’ll likely run into the roaming herd of goats, who will sidle up to you for some love. We were greeted by a donkey upon arrival, who hurried over for some snoot pets. It’s a nature lover’s dream, just outside the city!

This glamping spot is truly a hidden gem! Set on a hill with panoramic valley views, it feels like a private escape overlooking Escondido. The geo-dome itself is stunning, and the deck views are unreal especially at sunrise and sunset. It’s the perfect place to unplug and reset - peaceful, scenic, and thoughtfully designed. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our return. Highly recommend!
