Wendy is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
When you come to camp here you are on a working farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes. If you would like a list of grass fed meats available, veggies, or herbs just text your host before arrival. We are looking for a seasonal self contained camper who we could offer trade for camp care - text host directly. Its been a huge water season so skeeters are around we also recommend tents have a rain fly and ground cloth. Welcome It was important to choose a partner like Hipcamp to invite like minded individuals who respect both the natural environment and the idea of less is more. At any time you may encounter farming activities, building out of tiny houses for future bookings, or gardens in the process of creation. As we move toward offering the land as a place to both find solitude or chosen participation our Flyte and Sparrow experience will hopefully be a place you will want to return to as your own tradition.

Overnighter/Late Arrival Camp
We sadly were not able to stay here due to a nearby wildfire, but the host was extremely communicative about the issue and told us as much as she could as far in advance as possible. I would absolutely book here again because of that.

Stewardship at its finest!
Wendy has an incredible piece of land that has had so much thought put into it. Her stewardship forward touches like the steam solar shower, fresh eggs and late night check in campsites for late arrivals are just some of the many wonderful touches. Above all of that, she is an absolutely wonderful person who truly cares about every aspect of her guests stay. Thank you so much for a great stay! We can’t wait to return!

3 Day Camping Trip
Just wrapped up a fantastic Labor Day weekend at Wendy’s campsite! Her beautiful farm boasts stunning views and a variety of plots to choose from. Wendy was incredibly kind and accommodating, making our stay memorable. We camped at Bobcat’s Road, and despite the high winds and a few curious wasps, it was a wonderful experience. Plus, it's dog-friendly, so our furry friends had a great time too. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!"

We were in Reno for a 3-day dog show and chose Wendy’s site to camp at during our stay. It was a lovely spot with beautiful, expansive views of the surrounding mountains. Stargazing at night was wonderful. In the evening we fell asleep to nighthawk vocalizations and in the morning we awoke to goldfinch and quail chirps. We even got to enjoy watching the various shorebirds and waterfowl at the pond, and observed beautiful red-tailed hawks soaring about. While we did not spend our days at camp since we were out and about, we came to sleep for the evenings and it was the perfect secluded spot for us. Setting up camp wasn’t an issue for us since we have a rooftop tent, but if you have a regular tent, be aware that the ground isn’t particularly flat or free of weeds. In addition, we have a Subaru, so getting to our site wasn’t a problem, but if you have a sedan, be aware that there are some decently tall grasses/shrubs growing in the middle of the path to the campsite. We met Wendy at the beginning of our stay and she was the nicest host! It was so lovely to meet her and chat with her about her future plans for the property. We would love to come back in the future and stay at Bobcat Camp again. There was even a shower/sauna house but we didn’t get to experience it this time. We would highly recommend Wendy’s campsite for a safe, quiet spot to sleep at whenever you’re stopping by the Reno/Sparks area!
