Located on Mount Hood about an hour from Portland, Zigzag Mountain Farm is home to an organic garden, old homestead, house, yurts, and barn. 50 acres of open meadows and forest, bordering thousands of acres of national forest.
The farm is home to an organic garden, campfire circle, picnic area, a city bus with a campers' kitchen, outdoor seating area with BBQ, kids play structure and hiking trails.
The cabin on the property was built by the original homesteaders. Britta and Jim purchased the property in 2009. It had been vacant for a number of years. Giant slash piles scattered the land from previous logging.
The house and cabin were not livable and needed major renovations. In 2019, we purchased and brought in a city bus and converted it to a campers kitchen.
A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the early 1900's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail.
Zigzag Mountain Farm offers the perfect escape from the city.

It includes a ground level bedroom w/ full size bed, kitchen, bathroom (with a full sized shower), a living room loft and a storage loft. The tiny house includes all furniture and decor! It comes with the TV, all of the appliances, air conditioner and a space heater.
The interior is about 200 square feet. The tiny house is 8’7 1/2 ft wide, there is additional roof over hang on each side (6 inches on each side) (total 8’8 1/2 in width).
The porch into the front door is 3ft by 8’6ft. It is 13 1/2 feet tall, including the peak of the house. It is 16 and 1/4 feet. It has a 4 foot tongue. As well as a 3 foot porch. Totaling about 24 feet total from one end to another.

We are located in the heart of Antelope, a rural (near) Ghost town that is rich in history and culture. This particular property is currently being cleaned up and revitalized. We would like to open it up to dry camping, some cabins, and RV Space with partial hookups at this time as we are already seeing a huge influx of cyclists and motorcycles in the area and they have no place to camp. There is a bathhouse onsite as part of the Pavilion structure. Please do not park on grass, unless you are an RV Space with partial hookups that has made arrangements with park host. Tiny house with stunning mountain views located on a farm animal sanctuary, Harmony Farm Sanctuary. You will wake up in the morning to the sound of roosters crowing and our crew of friendly animal residents. It can be noisy at times but we find it delightful! The tiny house has huge, direct views of the Three Sisters mountains and Broken Top and plenty of outdoor sitting space to enjoy it and a little propane fire pit to enjoy the sunsets. The tiny house offers an amazing "glamping" experience and a unique opportunity to learn more about what we do at our animal sanctuary and even take a tour!
The Space: Our hand made tiny house offers a double sized mattress (bedding included) in the upstairs area (access via an attached ladder). Room for an additional person across from double bed also in upstairs area or put provided mat on the floor. Please note: the space is small for 3 people and better serves 2.
The Kitchen: Tiny house kitchen area has a small refrigerator, small counter space for meal prep, a tea kettle for hot water, water jug for fresh water, french press coffee pot and coffee/tea, hot plate for cooking, popcorn maker and popcorn, pots and pans, silverware, napkins, bottle openers, etc. We now have a new small outdoor kitchen with a two burner propane stove and an outside fish washing station.
The Facilities: The tiny house offers a composting toilet for night time pee pee needs and offers a port-a-potty for all other uses please! If you want to know a secret river dipping spot or where to go to find a sauna I’m happy to share!
Outdoor Shower: We have a lovely little “instant hot” shower for use on non freezing days.
The Location: We are conveniently located between beautiful Bend, Oregon and Sisters, Oregon. We have hiking and biking trails within .3 of a mile! We also have books to recommend 100's of other hiking, biking, nordic skiing and alpine skiing nearby! And, since we are outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, we are happy to recommend places to ski, hike, mountain bike, float or paddle!

Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast.

Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland.
Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States.
Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park.
We offer two sites; Site A is on flat gravel that enjoys full sun. Site A is across from the large grassy area, perfect for sunning and relaxing.
Site B is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. Site B is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit in Site B but you may need to back in.
Site B is backed by our private, small shop. The two sites are separated by trees. Both sites have 120v, 30amp and water hookups.
The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge.
Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception.
We do not allow "shower" tents.
Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone.
These sites are on our private property. For Site A, you may position your RV to view the grassy area and not the house.

We do have back up generators to keep everything running smoothly during prolonged cloudy weather. Just in case!

I enjoyed my stay at the tiny cabin. Amy was very welcoming. I was there to visit with family in Oregon. The cabin is very cute and clean. Has a nice outdoor shower and the cleanest compost toilet I've seen.
Also purchased farm fresh eggs while I was there. Also has a few activities you can do at the cabin as well. Its a beautiful drive up to the tiny cabin. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Weekend Trip to Northside Base Camp
What an amazing place! The views of the mountains and the night sky were truly astonishing! The cabin was very comfortable with huge viewing windows that you can relax and view the scenery directly from in the cabin. I found myself getting lost in the serene view for hours.
There were four great Pyrenees dogs on site that were some of the nicest dogs I’ve seen. These gentle giants would make their rounds in the evening and come say hi as if to let you know that they’re your personal protection before doing their security sweeps at f the property. One of the dogs named, Luna, would watch over the cabins from a distance making me feel completely safe from any predators like bears or cougars.
The owners Josh and Elisha were very down to earth and hospitable and made you feel at home. It was a great place to get away from life for a while and decompress. I highly recommend this location if you’re looking for peace, quiet and majestic views.

Antelope base camp is exactly as they say it is.
The host was extremely friendly and helpful with letting me anything I had questions about.
The facilities were very clean.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone especially if you’re looking for a quiet place to get night photos like I was able to.

We were in the Tiny Home and it had amazing views of the lavender and rolling hills. We had fun walking to visit the ducks, geese, donkey and LGDs. Weather did not cooperate but the heater worked perfectly.

The little tiny house was spectacular! The land and animals and lavender was so wonderful and they have a cute gift shop and eggs for sale. Will definitely be coming back. Perfect spot for the Woodburn tulip festival and Silver Falls State Park.

My Wife and I loved our stay!
The Cabin is very Cozy and extremely well stocked with a lot of the traveling things you might forget.
There was even a little drawer for fire kindling, what a great idea!
Renee was very accommodating and we had a fantastic time on our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Amy and Eric were so friendly and took the time to greet me at the road. The cabin was perfectly cozy, and was just the ticket for a secluded off-grid getaway. I watched the sun rise over the frosted field, and enjoyed a big fire in the evening. The amenities provided were in very good condition, too. I would visit again!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Forest Haven
I loved staying on Lara’s property. The tiny house was beautiful, perfectly clean and organized. I appreciated all the labels throughout and the instructions for the composting toilet. The booklets of what to do in the area were helpful when looking for trails to explore. She really has thought of everything someone could need.
I was/am going through the loss of my senior dog and was looking for a place to get away and process my emotions and this truly was the perfect place. I spent a long time sitting outside on the deck reading and just listening to nature. It was the escape from reality that I needed.
I hope to go back in the future and can’t wait to experience the peace that their land helped me find in a time I so desperately needed it.

We loved staying in a cozy cabin at Antelope base camp. It was cold outside but the room was warm and there was plenty of warm bedding and pillows. The bathrooms & showers were super convenient, very clean, and heated (!) so you never walked into a cold bathroom or shower. The WiFi was great to have. There are so many places to explore from Antelope. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Antelope Basecamp
We stayed in A-frame #5 in early December. It hovered around freezing for most of our stay, but the room was warm, well-lit, had plenty of outlets, and pretty solid wi-fi. We brought a folding table and some board games and had a great time. The bathrooms and shower were clean and well-maintained.
