Matt’s camper was great, cute and cozy. Just be aware that there is only one table outside if you want to rent the griddle. We wished the table was bigger!

Camper hideaway
This was a great, little, rustic, camper hideaway! Felt very private and comfortable. I slept well and enjoyed both the fresh air and sounds of nature (birds, honey bees in the shrub outside). Easy to get to the beach and Aptos Village before retreating back to this charming location.

Easy check in and great space. The trailer is old but everything still worked well. The bathroom is a composting toilet and that worked fine for myself but my lady was not use to using one. All in all I loved my stay!

I loved my night in the camper. It’s rustic, but charming and the bed is comfy. I was treated to rain on the aluminum roof, frogs croaking, and plenty of bird song, along with views of the misty Redwoods. I wasn’t really able to utilize the outdoor table and fire pit because of rain, but that was fine for my brief visit. I basically just needed an affordable place to crash overnight, and I got that plus some much needed tranquility and nature therapy.

Very beautiful and peaceful retreat! The flowers smelled lovely. The stars were stunning!!! It was a narrow winding road to get to but fine to drive if you’re confident on those types of roads. The camper was comfy without a heater even though it was chilly at night outside! We enjoyed making coffee with the hot water kettle and my aero press. Would definitely stay again!

Cozy little spot - we loved sitting by the gas fire pit reading and sipping wine. We were toasty in the camper despite it being chilly at night.
It was a great location to depart from to explore Big Sur and area for the weekend.

Beautiful little spot! My 6 yr daughter and I had a blast. We were so cozy and relaxed, listening to the rain patter on the roof. The bed is super comfortable! Enjoyed the fire in the evening, and did some wonderful day trips to the surrounding beaches and forests. This spot is the perfect little adventure and getaway.

We had an amazing two night stay in this beautiful camper! Chats and laughs by the warm fire, peaceful sleeps and a beautiful location - Matt was so lovely and helpful with directing us to the property and the experience we had during our stay was truly was one for the books! Fabulous camper
Nestled among the majestic redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, this campsite offers the perfect romantic escape. A well-paved private road leads straight to the site—just follow Matt’s directions, as Google Maps tends to suggest a rough detour. The charming vintage aluminum camper exudes nostalgia and is equipped with everything you need: a propane tank, running water, electricity, and fast Wi-Fi.
We spent a dreamy day in Carmel, strolling hand in hand before savoring a delicious dinner in the village. Returning to the campsite, we brewed cups of tea in the camper and cozied up in the private garden. Under the starlit sky, with Jupiter shining brightly and the Orion constellation above, we soaked in the crisp Santa Cruz night. Later, we snuggled in the camper’s warm cocoon, watching Hallmark Christmas movies on our iPad and feeling the magic of the moment.
Just an hour from the Bay Area, this hidden gem was the perfect setting for a romantic weekend. Matt’s hospitality made it even more special. I highly recommend his camper to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat.

The Fern Ridge Camper was super cute, well equipped, and in a beautiful location within the Redwood trees of the Aptos forest. Matt was really friendly and attentive. All the features of the camper worked well. Note that the icebox, is not a refrigerator, but an actual old school icebox. This was fine for us, as we travel with a cooler. The WiFi worked well both in the camper and at the cute little patio table. We hope to return.

Lovely couples getaway!
The hosts were very attentive of our arrival, provided detailed instructions on how to get there and a space to have a wonderful time! The space was very neat and clean and has everything you will need for a campout. Definitely recommended!

Matt’s camper and its surrounding space are equal parts charming and cozy. The van itself is comfortable, functional, and well maintained, and the outdoor space is truly lovely. Matt was also a super responsive and welcoming host. This turned out to be the perfect place to spend a chill and restorative birthday.

What a restorative stay on Matt's land. The pictures are all very accurate and Matt's communication was clear, friendly, helpful and responsive. It's a cozy camper with a very comfy mattress. Other stays in campers have had a bit of a musty smell (understandably), but Matt's camper was airy and very clean. Because you're on a ridge, you really feel the cool mountain air right outside your window. An oasis just a short drive from many amenities. Only drawback is no shower, so I'd recommend this as a 1-2 night stay max.
