This was honestly an incredibly cute little spot, I loved the retro look and it was so comfy. It was practically perfect for a short stay, and it was such a stroke of good luck I found a plug adapter in the camper for my partner to use for him to work on his coursework, it saved the day from him having to get up early and leave to find a Starbucks. Having one electrical outlet was such a huge help also by letting us charge our power banks for our phones.
The bed was very cozy and comfy, but I wish the roof vent? metal mesh skylight? of the camper was able to be closed from the inside, as I woke up 4 times in the middle of night due to critters running across roof. I didn’t have any earplugs but I would have used them if I could have. Also the string lights were absolutely lovely but I didn’t think to bring a sleep mask or I would have brought them too, since they stayed on for quite some time and I have a hard time falling asleep with too much visible light.
Otherwise a very cute spot, just wish I got better sleep.

This camper was the perfect little getaway—close enough to the city to be convenient, yet once you’re there, it truly feels like you’ve escaped to a peaceful, remote retreat. It was incredibly cozy, quiet, and relaxing, with such a calm atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. A wonderful spot if you want the feeling of getting away from it all without actually having to travel far. Would definitely stay again!

Had the best weekend there, I only stayed one night with my boyfriend but it was SO worth it. Not only is the camper the perfect distance from the Aptos town, it’s also super close to capitola beach! The camper actually feels super spacious and the bed is super cozy. Loved it here and hope to be back soon!

Lovely airstream in a beautiful setting . Everything was as described, and lovely . It’s a bit of a drive to get there, but it’s pretty easy to find. I recommend staying in the property if you are looking for a unique experience in a serene environment.

We loved our anniversary weekend at Fern Ridge ♥️It was quiet, romantic, and close to the beach. 🏖️
What a lovely vintage camper! It's super charming, with original wood paneling and hardware. The outside area is lovely and super private—fenced off and quite separate from the rest of the property, and overlooking a really beautiful forested vista with lots of birds. Matt has created a really wonderful space! I really appreciated that the camper had nice, warm electric lights, a live outlet for charging, a French press for making coffee, and a super comfy bed. The property is in the gorgeous mountains above adorable Aptos village (about a 10-minute drive into town; 15-ish minutes to lovely beaches). It's a narrow windy road, so it's a good idea to arrive with some daylight, and the bathroom setup is a backcountry-style toilet (pack it). The only other good things to note ahead of your stay are to bring potable water or a filter, as the running water in the camper sink needs to be purified, and the original vintage icebox is non-electric, so you'll need ice inside it or a cooler to keep things cold. Matt was a super responsive and kind host; check-in was easy; Matt's directions to the property were very clear, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Matt was very responsive throughout our one night stay at the camper. My sister and I shared the space during our trip this summer and it was just what we needed! The fire was very nice and convenience to use right outside the camper. Would recommend for anyone looking for a simple, unique stay!
Enjoyed our stay here! Parking is accessible and just steps away from the actual site. The camper is super cozy and stocked basic essentials. The eucalyptus spray was clutch to keep mosquitoes at bay.
I also really appreciate Matt’s responsiveness!

Perfect cozy spot for a one night get away! Matt was a friendly host and the camper was charming. I appreciated the fire pit, propane stove, and kitchen utensils/dishes that were included. My only note to future guests is to bring bug repellent as there are some pools of standing water nearby with mosquitos but also some cute frogs! Overall great experience.
Such a nice stop and really clean little place off the beaten path. I stopped here on a solo road trip down the coast and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling alone. Easy check in, plenty of privacy and very kind communicative hosts. I would recommend double checking your route with hosts in the village when you get to town before going up the hills and ensuring you downloaded map directions because you lose reception quickly but they had great instructions. The camper itself was cute and convenient with a portable gas stove, some basic cookware and a working sink for washing. Plenty of storage space if you are a light traveler like me and a nice little dining nook.
Wildlife viewing and bird watching and a nice little fire pit. There is wifi once you get to the site.

We really enjoyed our stay at Matt’s Fern Ridge Camper. It’s so convenient being close to the city 1 it made for an easy, relaxing weekend escape.
The space is perfectly set up for a couple and offers great privacy. It had all the essentials (and a few nice extras), which made our stay comfortable and stress-free.
Matt was very responsive and shared helpful recommendations that made the trip even better. We’d definitely stay again!

The camper was cute, peaceful, and cozy! The view of the stars were so clear and the atmosphere was perfect for a short getaway! Matt is the most accommodating host and even went out of his way to grab us lamps for extra light!
Had an amazing time in this camper. Matt was very communicative and compensated when he addressed a minor issue before we even checked in! It was amazing being able to see the stars and wake up to the sunlight through the camper. The campfire was in a perfect spot to make s’mores. The portable bathroom was easy to use and we had a ton of privacy. Definitely would recommend.
My wife and I had a great stay! It was very relaxing and private. We will definitely plan to stay again!
