Had a great time. Tent was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we would have ever needed. We made pizza, tea, and breakfast. The bathrooms were clean. My only complaint would be that the showers were cold. We tried morning and night and there was no hot water. Would come back again. My daughter loved pointing out all of the avocados on the property.

We had an amazing time glamping at Vicki’s. The stars were amazing, the forest calming, and we loved the yoga deck. Vicki was easy to communicate with and very helpful. The land is magical! The beds were super comfy and my young children and older dog really enjoyed themselves. Amazing adventure just over an hour away from home. Warning- we did use our 4 wheel drive to get around certain areas (and we loved it). Not the place to drive a lowriding car. We will most definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at Harrison Serenity Ranch. From the moment we arrived, Vicki welcomed us with so much kindness and made us feel right at home. The property is absolutely beautiful — the views are unbelievable, especially at sunset, and the whole place has a peaceful, secluded vibe that’s perfect for getting away from everything. We also loved meeting the resident pig, who was surprisingly friendly and made the stay even more memorable! The campground was clean, quiet, and thoughtfully set up, and you can tell the hosts genuinely care about the land and the experience they provide. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing, unique getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

Tips for snagging a campsite

You can reserve one of 118 developed campsites or the group campground at Doheny State Beach Campground online. Reservations open six months in advance.
Campsites can book up fast, especially for beachfront sites in peak season between April and October or on holiday weekends. Plan ahead and book as soon as possible.

When to go

The sun shines year-round at Doheny Beach, and it's possible to surf, stroll, and camp through all four seasons. June through August is when the balmy temperatures are ideal for leisurely beach days. Expect crowds during this period, especially on weekends, and plan an early arrival time to snag a parking spot. Day use hours are from 6am till 10pm year-round.

Doheny State Beach is about three miles from the San Juan Capistrano Mission and seven miles northwest of San Clemente.
Day-use parking fees apply at all California state parks, in addition to campsite booking fees.
All campsites at Doheny Beach Campground Beach have access to fire rings, picnic tables, and hot showers, but no electric or water hookups. Beach camping is not permitted outside of designated sites.
Facilities at Doheny Beach include a visitor center, two day-use areas, restrooms, picnic areas with barbecue grills, a snack bar, and rental sites for surfboards, bicycles, and more. Lifeguards patrol the beach year-round.

Hi Hipcamers, we stayed here over the last winter holiday and I just booked again for this year as we have family in Dana Point. I have mixed feelings on this place and am surprised by the 96% rating to be honest. The biggest of all drawbacks is the constant sound of generators. ALL DAY ... and multiple sites, almost every other RV or trailer runs a generator. I don't need to rant on about them here, but seriously if you want to watch TV, stay at home! No hookups for water or sewage either. Very basic camping. Beachfront is 10/10 unreal, the further back, not so nice.. I'd never stay here as a "destination" , just for traveling through.

Reserve early and enjoy truly camping on the sand. The shore break here is often brutal just in front of the campsites - like, so rough even adults would not enjoy it. But a short walk north takes you to a much calmer section of coastline. We rented a 4-person pedal-powered surrey and cruised around for a couple of hours one afternoon. We generally like to "get away" a bit more, but for beach camping these days, this is hard to beat.

Toughest campground in the state to get into. Last minute cancels sometimes, but tight spots to get into for anything over 22'.
