Orchard Cabin @ Jug Handle Farm
The orchard cabin 3-25-23
I really liked the little orchard cabin. The simple bed downstairs and one up the ladder to the loft gave us privacy. The only other furniture was a sitting chair , lamp , a book shelf with 5-8 books, and A nice wood stove . The room stayed toasty warm at night. Outside from the deck you can view the meadow below. The cabin is only 50-100 feet from the bathroom and kitchen, yet in the trees so very peaceful. The kitchen and bathroom were fairly up to date and clean. I had it tried the shower. It takes a quarter to start.. not bad. The best thing was the small heater they placed in the bathroom. It made the bathroom the best spot in the building.(very cold outside this spring) towels were provided and hand soap. There was fire wood enough for two nights. Also extra blankets were in the room. The nice feature here is you can walk 10 minutes down a trail to the beach . The trail starts just left from the workshop past the parking area . Another cool feature is you are only 10 minutes to Mendocino and close to many parks, trails and activities. Lastly staff was responsive in providing extra fire starters . They are on-site and you can text them from kitchen where there is Wi-Fi 😊 The only thing I would recommend is they improve the site map to show where each cabin is located. We did wonder around after dark looking for our cabin..

What a sweet little campground! There are several campsites in the same area. Beautiful area with a green meadow clearing and trees surrounding. Across the street from Jughandle State Park with easy and gorgeous ocean access.

Wonderful experience
The property was in a great location and was beautiful. I would certainly come back to this location in the future. There was no cell service (Verizon) on the property so be sure you save the details for everything before you arrive.

This is a great and relaxed place to camp on the Mendocino coast. Perfectly located between Fort Bragg and Mendocino, minuted from the Russian River Gulch and with trails that take you to beautiful beaches and headlands. A must.

The campsite was great. No complaints. I would just encourage you to not get it mixed up with the Jughandle Preserve which doesn’t allow camping.

Was a great place to camp with my pup! I also stayed in the grand for cabin for night and it was perfect having access to the new shared kitchen and bathroom. The trails and beach were awesome and easy to access. Would recommend.

Site 6 - Nice Little Spot
Perfect spot to camp due to closeness to all the hiking trails and mendocino town. They even recommended a more appropriate camping site due to the windy conditions this weekend. I stayed in #5 which provided some tree coverage. Will definitely come back!

Site 4 - Power & Water
This campsite is on private land. We booked this trip in advance and continued to get notifications to "get ready for our trip", so I thought we were all set to go camp. However, we arrived to the campsite after a 4 hour drive and started to unload when someone who works there told us that the campsite was closed and that we weren't supposed to be there. There's no reception so we had to drive back into town to get signal to call the owner who stated that she wasn't sure how we were able to book the campsite because they closed the campgrounds due to all the fallen branches on the trees. Our stay didn't feel so welcome, however, the owner allowed us to stay the night as we had already paid and booked the site well in advance. We had nowhere else to go so that was the only reason why we stayed at the campsite that night. The place is nice, it was just an odd situation that happened. Other than that, we were the only people here during our stay as the site was closed, so it was quiet.

Stayed for the new year
The place is beautiful, staying at Site 1, would really try to be back there by Summer, we did booked for a 2 night stay, but unfortunately we only stayed for one night under the circumstances that we had, like unfortunately the once in charge of the firewood station was on vacation too, and the wind was strong on the night of Dec.31st that brought down some big branches of trees that scared my wife and son.. Anyway those circumstances happen and we can’t stop them.. So I will give the place 4 stars out of 5

Great place to camp. Sites are bit too damp in the rainy wintertime, but that’s not the fault of the host. All of the amenities and access to nature are amazing.

Great camping!
Great campsites, with plenty of room. We used the hookups which made for a fantastic stay. The location is beautiful, right in the middle of the forest. Close to Mendocino and Ft. Bragg. Definitely will visit again.

Cold but pretty
It was a beautiful site and the access to jug handle beach is amazing. But I didn’t have a good experience getting firewood so I recommend planning that in advance.

Go-To Mendocino Coast camping
Go-to camping on Mendocino Coast. Incredible location. It’s smallest has and has great amenities. But remember— use only what you need. Mendocino is still in a draught despite the recent rain. Conserve water

Excellent little gem
This campground was very conveniently located and had everything we needed as a small tent camping party. The sites and toilets were very clean, and the view of the stars while sitting around our fire pit were exquisite!

It’s a beautiful property and the beach is gorgeous but there were no site maps when I got there and nobody around to ask. The site had some garbage on the ground and the trail to the beach isn’t very well marked.

Nice location but the campsite itself had litter in it and there was no one around to help us navigate the site or buy wood etc (we arrived late afternoon on a Saturday), fairly basic operation.

Awesome spot
This is our go to place to camp near Mendocino. The campground is always quiet and you can walk to the beach. We saw so many mushrooms there in November!
