The river access was beautiful and super easy to access once you arrive on your site. It is quite literally a river front camp site. This place was amazing for a private get away. Heather and her family are great very inviting and helpful if needed! I’d definitely come back again. One thing is the campsite looks a tad bit different and less sandy than the provided photos but plenty of sandy area to relax on. Thankfully our tent fit perfectly on some of the sandy bar that was available and had it not there was other “dirt road area” that could have accommodated our tent if necessary not nearly over 2ft away from the site itself. Over all this place is a must stay in my book :)

Private Swimming Hole Campsite
For most of the trip, the campsite was magical. The swimming hole was incredible, the vibes were impeccable. My PHEV Ford Escape SUV, which only has 2 wheel drive but also has a “deep snow and sand” mode, had very little trouble on the road (other than having to do maneuvers like, for example, after a sharp curve that took away momentum: stopping, reversing so that there’s a runway, then accelerating up a hill.) The hosts were friendly, let us see the baby chicks that had just hatched on their farm, and offered to let us buy the camping propane bottles they had handy instead of going into town since we forgot to pack an extra.
However, the communication and consideration could’ve been a lot better. I would’ve really liked to know that a construction project was happening within easy earshot of the campsite on one of the days so that I could’ve booked a different weekend, but we were told about it the morning after we got there. There were people, including children, walking in view of the campsite during the work on the outhouse, which went from about 10am to 7pm (during which we would’ve also had to also pause the project and ask everyone to go away if we had needed to use the outhouse).
All in all, beautiful campsite, mostly great experience, but had some issues.

This place and hosts are amazing. This is a must visit.
My son and I loved camping here! The river was beautiful and refreshing, it felt totally secluded and private, the forest is beautiful, and coordinating with Heather and meeting her family and their animals was a delight.
Also extremely convenient to have Firewood available nearby and a few basics like picnic table, camp fire ring, etc..

The campsite was wonderfully private and the perfect swimming spot. A great place for a quiet trip where we felt very safe at the site. Four wheel drive and a confident driver needed for the road in and out. Heather was a very friendly host with a sweet family and dogs. Very welcoming!
This sweet spot right on the creek was so perfect I had to come back the very next weekend. Extremely quiet and private, it truly felt like an oasis. Lots of little wildlife sightings, incredible dark sky with stars, and really loved having a fire. The water is deep even in late summer and clean and clear. AWD was good for accessing the site and we didn't mind the rustic accommodations. Heather and her family are kind, communicative and respectful.

We loved our stay at Heather's land. She gave clear directions on how to arrive and we felt welcomed. It is one of the most peaceful places to unwind at night and go for a swim during the day. My partner and I highly recommend Heather's land.
This location was such a beautiful private camping spot for my friends and I. We set up and did not want to leave—could have laid and read and swam all day every day. Falling asleep to the rushing river was amazing. Heather is such a sweet host and we were able to buy fresh eggs and baked goods from her, we ate the best chocolate chip sourdough bread—I’m still thinking about it. Highly recommend this spot!!

The secluded, peaceful environment was absolutely incredible. Swimming and floating really made the experience great! What a lovely and special camping place! Thank you for the experience!
What a beautiful and magical property Heather is stewarding. W stayed for four nights by a private swimming hole on a little beach. It was a tranquil and restorative retreat coming from the Bay Area. Heather was so kind and generous! She’s a superwoman! We tried her delicious vegan chocolate caramels and goat milk bread she sells at local markets.
We highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for a magical retreat away from the city and want to be close to the most beautiful forests to hike.
We are so grateful for Heather’s hospitality!

Had a wonderful camping trip on this beautiful seclusive spot. The area was timing with wild life. We got to see an otter enjoying a meal on the rocks. hawks flying over. We also enjoy being able to hang one of our hammocks close to the water and take in the breeze. The swimming hole was also nice and refreshing with plenty of space to swim! Also highly recommend buying fire wood from the family.
Solo camped here this last weekend & had such a magical time. This property is beautiful! Right on the water, nice swimming holes, super private space, & the perfect spot for a lil getaway. Safety is always a priority for me when I’m solo camping, especially as a woman, and I would absolutely recommend this space for anyone thinking about going off on their own adventure. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We loved camping at this site! It was very private and peaceful with beautiful views all around. The host family and all of their animals were so kind and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back to this site in the future!!
Beautiful trip! Thank you so much for the private campground space. We loved being in the valley surrounded by redwood trees. There was enough openness that we were warm down on the river bed, but could get in the shade if needed. Most of the space was shallow close to the shore, but there was a swimming hole for the bigger kids. It’s a drive from the main road, immediate fork to the right and down, past a rock quarry and past a long wood fence then a steep drive down into the property with some side roads, narrow and tight turn to the house. The family was at the house and met us with animals and guided us down to our camping spot. We rented the large tent which was great to have it already set up. Picnic table and great spring water. 5 gallon bucket camping toilet with bags was better than squatting . It was private and we felt like we had our own space once we were down at the river. Plenty of firewood around.
