Escape to your own private piece of the Oregon Coast! Lost Coast is located just 5 miles north of Florence, approximately 3/4 mile from the ocean and less than half a mile from beautiful Baker Beach. We offer ONE large, private campsite, so you won’t be sharing the camping area with other Hipcamp guests. Surrounded by old-growth timber and native coastal vegetation, there’s plenty of room to spread out, relax and enjoy the wild beauty of the Oregon Coast. Lost Coast is a great home base for exploring the area, with beaches, hiking trails, lakes, dunes and outdoor adventures just a short drive away. Florence is only 5 miles south for restaurants, shopping and supplies. Our surrounding acreage is wild and undeveloped. There are NO established hiking trails on the property and NO trail or guest access to Lily Lake. While we hope to create a path to the lake someday, the area is currently dense coastal vegetation and wetland terrain that can become extremely muddy. Please don’t attempt to hike to Lily Lake or explore deep into the undeveloped acreage. IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: Lost Coast is located directly off Hwy 101 and highway traffic can be heard clearly from the campsite, both day and night. If you are a light sleeper, sensitive to road noise, or looking for a completely quiet camping experience, this is probably not the right campsite for you. We want to be very upfront about this before you book so there are no surprises. The tradeoff is an incredibly convenient location just minutes from Florence, Baker Beach and countless places to explore along the Oregon Coast. We have full-time neighbors just north of the property, so please be respectful of noise and keep a close eye on pets near Hwy 101. It was wonderful to have our own, little piece of forest with Sasquatch watching over us. There is bountiful flat space to choose from for tent camping and heaps of trees if you're a hammocker. We also appreciated proximity to Florence for amenities and easy access to trails, lakes, beaches and blow-holes. For camp comedy, adventuring the "trails" on site landed us in deep, stinky mud-- skunk cabbage is the clue to go no further! And banana slugs in bathrooms made for good conversation while on the pot.

This was a perfect spot for us and our dogs! Great homebase to unload.....Shady, safe, private, and convenient to get to beaches and town. Very spacious, could have fit a lot more people but we loved our privacy and letting the dogs be able to explore. Two extremely clean port-a-potties! Looking forward to to returning when we can use that beautiful fire pit (fire restrictions in place currently). Yes, we could hear traffic but it didn't bother us. Thank you so much for sharing your property with us, just what we needed to escape the heat and smoke of Central Oregon!! :). **No dogs allowed on Baker Beach until October 15th, but we explored others...Ocean Beach towards Yachats was easy access and very few people (midweek). Ready to return during mushroom hunting season!!! :)

Gorgeous piece of property that is very private. The port-a-potties were very clean! Perfect location, too. One thing we learned is to never try tent camping on the 4th of July weekend on the coast! We well happily return though as we loved it there.

Perfect location as a home base. The porta potty was clean and has a posted/dated services schedule. All well appointed the fire pit is centrally located to the picnic table with multiple options for your tent.

Location was great, road noise kinda sucked, but not a deal breaker. Lots of space for tents & other people. Overall it was a great relaxing weekend and will come back again. The only complaint is i wish the trail to the creek was more obvious. I feel uncomfortable clearing trails without owner approval. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Firepit and picnic table are both nice to have. Thanks to the owners for sharing this beauty of a property with us.

The directions they gave were incredibly helpful. The restroom was super clean. Very spacious land! A lot larger than I expected. Mostly flat/packed that was decent for a wheelchair. I think we'll be back.

Didn’t realize until we got there but it is the only campsite it’s just someones land it was amazing! Probly an acre or two just for us and our doggo not worrying about other people right next to us!! I can’t wait to go back definitely the best campsite ive been to yet. Porta potty was super clean just be aware not to leave your own toilet paper in there some rats or mice came and tore it up. Also no water spicket so just make sure to bring your own water but close to town so we werent to worried if we ran out

What a great space! Getting there can be a little tricky since the Maps directions are just a little off and the gate is hard to spot from highway, but if the three of us can pull it off- anyone can! Lots of room for group camping. For its proximity to 101, the site is quiet and feels secluded. Port-a-potty was clean, the fire pit was perfect, and overall we had a great time. Would definitely return.

Easy access, private, spot right off of 101. If traffic noise bothers you, this might not be the right spot for you. But, I’ve tent camped here twice and our group always has a good time. Quieter in the evening and you can hear the ocean in the distance. Great for big groups and dogs. Clean and routinely maintained porta potty. Will definitely stay again!

I can't say enough good things about this site. It was conveniently located about 10 minutes from Florence right off the 101. I felt spoiled staying here and having this huge place all to myself. There were so many options where to set up my tent. There's a fire pit, a picnic table, and a porta-potty with lights installed. There is a house next door but I never heard or saw anyone. Megan was very friendly and approved my request to stay there pretty quick. There are pay showers at 37th Street Coin Laundry ($4.00), and a huge Fred Meyers within a 10 minute drive from camp right as you get to Florence. I could hear the cars on the road earlier in the day, but after 10 pm I barely heard it, and slept like a baby all through the night. Between the creeking of the gate when opening, and having neighbors right there added an element of safety for me at night, and my gear if I left for a bit. I really did feel spoiled. It was perfect for me at that point on my road trip down the coast. I highly recommend it.

Huge forest grove all to ourselves! Drive north for less than one minute for one of the best coastal views we’ve seen in our many travels. The porta-potties were the cleanest ever. So know that this site is right off the highway, but we noticed that at night there’s very little traffic, and the location can’t be beat. For some the road noise might be a bit much but we really didn’t mind. The site is nice and private, with a big picnic table and fire ring and plenty of level places to set up a tent or an RV. We will definitely return to this one.

This was the perfect spot to pitch our tent, have a little fire and get some sleep! There is a picnic table and nice fire pit as well as decently soft and mostly flat ground area for a tent. The trees are amazing, very private area and was easy to find, even in the dark as we arrived fairly late.

It was perfect for myself and my dog! I’m glad I arrived early to be able to find the gate, as well as look around to figure out where best to pitch my tent. Went out to visit with some friends that night and had a difficult time trying to find the turn off in the dark- but for me that’s all a part of the fun 😉 My dog did not want to leave. We definitely will be back!!

This spot is the perfect, private piece of land I hope to find on Hipcamp. It’s right next to the 101 so super easy to get on and off during a road-trip. The highway noise is all just the swishing sound of cars, not semis & loud trucks like camping near 1-5 so it’s not bad at all and gets very quiet at night. The land is big enough to walk around a bit and stretch out. The picnic table and fire pit seating area around it are all you need. The porta potties are spotless and smell good! And the magnificent trees and all the birds in them are a real treat. We had such a lovely, peaceful stay and highly recommend to anyone needing a private respite on a camping trip on the 101.

Cool site right off the highway. I recommend arriving during the day so you can find the road with the gate - at night with the sea mist it can be hard to spot! It's also hard to find where to set up your tent at night, so plan on arriving with plenty of light! The porta-potties were very clean and it was a great place to make a fire. It's private but you'll hear traffic, so I recommend bringing ear plugs. Great location - easy to access both the dunes and other surrounding attractions like the Heceta head lighthouse and Hobbit trail. Hosts were very nice and responsive - would definitely go again!

This is a rustic site right off 101. The pluses are it is very convenient to get to and it’s surrounded by beautiful trees was very protected and quiet, even though near the road. There’s a picnic table. It had just rained so it was very muddy. It was a decent stuff for just one night, but definitely overpriced.

This was a very spacious camp site! It could host multiple families easily with enough foliage to provide privacy. We had such a great time! Yes, the road noise and neighbor noise (chainsaws) could get annoying at times, overall it was lovely. Bathrooms were clean!

Super beautiful and spacious spot for tent camping! It would be really nice to have some kind of water access on site for dishes and washing up, but the drive to the nearest store is less than ten minutes so we could refill our water jugs easily anyway. Very well situated campsite close to the beach.
