Great place to spend the night when passing by!! Clay and Julian were very communicative, and flexible with our dates when we got all jumbled up on our trip! Nice place to set up a tent since it’s soft grass/dirt. Great tree cover, quiet even though a bit close to a road, you’d never know. We saw a deer when leaving the site! Also a great outdoor shower experience, felt covered and private. Would definitely spend the night again if passing by!

Great stay in beautiful mossy wood

We were present for a concert at the spot and had a great stay in an amazing setting. Moss underfoot and great trees above, cool art peppered throughout, a funky and fun saloon onsite, friendly people, etc. Thanks so much!

Oregon Country Fair - Tent Camping

I did car camping. Nice tall trees. Cool areas like an outdoor stage and the outdoor bar. I kinda just parked in between trees. No real designated space. Outdoor kitchen to use. They have a sauna you can pay extra for. Hot showers but would have preferred more privacy. The wall of sheets were see through and some of the sheets didn’t block any views. Had to shower in my underwear on. It was about a 15min to the OCF or a quick bike ride.

Great camp for Fair folk + others

Clay has put a lot of thought and time and community-centered energy into creating this land. Wrenna was a lovely host while Clay was off supporting the magic at Oregon Country Fair. It was a wonderful place to stay while attending OFC with a kid who needed to go to sleep, very quiet and neighboring campers were totally respectful. Great to have all the things we needed -- toilet, shower, kitchen-- and friendly folks!

Ocf home away from home

Incredible! Stay very close to the Oregon country. Fair the beautiful women that run. It really went out of their way to make my stay special from great conversations. Communal fires and even firing up with sauna. I made some incredible connections and overall just had an amazing place to decompress after the fair. Also such beautiful animals that loved some good scratches! 10/10 would reccomend

Oregon Country Fair - Tent Camping

The forest is a magical serene and beautifully quiet place among the trees. I loved it! We got to enjoy the new very hot cedar sauna. Everything has an artistic quality. The limitless hot shower was a godsend after walking through the Oregon Country Fair. Sitting around the fire pit and watching the beautiful stars on the clear night was a wonderful way to end the day and calmly settle into our good night sleep. I slept in my car and it was a nice experience my friend slept in the tent on the ground and she could hear the portable potty doors close all night long. But mostly it was a magical and safe relaxing camping night. Thank you for providing a safe space for us Tina!

Whimsy and Peace at Mosswood

The perfect beautiful quiet refuge after spending the day at the fair. Hosts were welcoming, grounds were well taken care of. Campground was very peaceful and quiet yet so close to the fair! They somehow brought some of the whimsy back to the campground. Thank you for sharing your magical little forest with us! It was lovely, we'll be back!

The perfect first stop

Clay was great. Easy to communicate with. The site was clean, magical and quiet. There was a big outdoor kitchen, but we just ate at our little site. It was the week of the Oregon Country Fair and so there was a row of very clean porta potties.. the soap smelled lovely and the area was clean and well kept, the shower was hot and private. The sauna was not turned on, but it was new and well made.. There was a beautifully handcrafted stage and a “saloon”, magical glass mushrooms and a large hand carved thunderbird . It was fun to imagine the sites full of revelers! In short we loved it and it was the perfect first stop on our way up the coast! ( don’t follow Apple Maps.. go through Eugene to get there or you will go a ways out of our way)

The stage and unique stick configurations were magical for the littles to have imaginative play. The wide open feel of the space allowed the adults to relax while the kids explored and played on the different trails in full view. The tree net style triangular hammock was a restful place to nap under the trees. Amazing for my sore back.

Site 3 - Mosswood

Clay’s spot was great for us! We had a show to attend in near-by Eugene, and this was a nice place to relax before and come back to crash after it. Very easy going dealing with Clay and others. Though perhaps rustic by some standards the facilities were nice and there is communal areas for those liking to socialize. Will gladly come back in the future if we’re in the area and it’s available!

The Host was truly very kind, but the accommodations didn't match what was advertised. When I arrived I had to wait for the Host to clean (change the sheets and shake out a rug) the camper before I could get in as his "friend stayed there and [I] forgot to clean it." The mossy wooded area is beautiful, especially with the early morning sun shining through the trees! Directions to access the property were perfect. This could be a really cool place if tidied up a bit. As is, not worth the cost.

Not quiet or peaceful at all - I was really disappointed that there was so much construction noise all around me for my one night stay. Between the hosts using their chainsaws and woodworking shops next to my site well past 9pm and the neighbour next door using an excavator for six hours to uproot a tree.. I didn’t have a great first experience using HipCamp. I think if you’re planning to camp in the weeks leading up to the country fair, be prepared to be listening to a lot of machinery going

I had the most relaxing stay in the Mosswood! Super cozy place, safe, and just remote enough to be out of the city but super easy drive back to town. Clay was amazing and the access to a shower and stove was fantastic! I loved my stay here and I hope have the chance to visit again!

Clay was super responsive to our last minute booking request. His communication was kind and timely. The camp is close to the highway; sensitive ears will head road noise. Local frogs do their best to compete to create a more pleasant soundscape. This appears to be a work in progress; lots of signs of efforts to enhance the comfort of travelers’ stay. At the moment, it’s a bit rough around the edges.

Mosswood Forest was quiet and pleasant. We had a long driving day, so we arrived pretty late at night. They accommodated our late arrival and showed us to a flat place to park our trailer but the barn. It was fun to explore the property, the saloon and stage area before we hit the road the next day.

Very cool spot! Communal kitchen area and toilet were very nice to have. Loved getting to see the sculptures and having a fire outside. Saw deer and turkey running around on the property as well. Super peaceful and nice stay. Would def visit again. Thanks for having us :)

Needs work but still lovable.

I reaaaaally liked the property/site, and it would be great for camping IF the compost toilet had not been the fullest I'd ever seen. Pardon the TMI but it's for "pooping only", and while there are many trees, I found it difficult to locate anywhere that didn't feel so exposed, so peeing in private did not feel like an option. The artwork was beautiful, but the toilet was literally so full I wouldn't feel comfortable using it in that condition again and found it really awkward to try to pee privately, perhaps bring a skirt of that's an option for you to create coverage. As far as the actual camper, it's cozy, but the previous reviewer who shared that it stinks was absolutely right. It has a mild sort of man funk that was incredibly intense on the sheets and the mattress protector. I was very grateful to have brought my own sheets. I really wanted to love it in there but it desperately needs a feminine/womanly touch of you know what I mean. I did get a bit of a headache from the electrical and it not being level but once the lights were on I started to adjust a little. I was uneasy, but it was affordable and the property+art were incredible and it was a nice space to be outside of the accommodation issues. It's the sort of place where I'd love to have a way to assist with the work just to see it's full potential and to have the privilege of being in a growing space. If this doesn't bother you, go for it! If the toilet is improved we'd love to go back, with some febreeze.
