This little place is a hidden Gem with amazing views from no matter where you stay. Peter is very welcoming, and willing to help you with anything you made need. There were fish to catch, all kinds of wildlife and then the horses, goats and dogs were an extra treat for the kids!
We will be back each year.

The park at Loon Lake was an absolute paradise for every outdoor enthusiast! RV campsites and tent sites are spacious, the views from every campsite are majestic with the mountains surrounding you. it’s just a short walk to your private entry to the Loon Lake where the owner of the property has paddle boards, kayaks etc…Everything you could want for a day out on the water! There is a gorgeous tree with comfy chairs where you can view the lake and the surrounding mountains it is absolutely breathtaking. Peter, the owner likes to be considered the Stewert of this property and is very attentive to all your needs. He is happy to introduce you to his goats, horses and family of labs!!! Peter has a beautiful mission statement, which is all proceeds go to children with disabilities! I would definitely recommend this Hipcamp to anyone who likes peace and quiet. It is truly a beautiful escape with your family. We are definitely going to book again and share our story with our friends so that everyone can enjoy this special place on earth.

Tent camping was amazing, the site was clean and huge. Peter was so kind and took time to talk to us. The site was in a convenient location next to water and bathrooms. We had a great stay!
Five stars, 10/10, hurrahs all around for The Park at Loon Lake!
Our family of four had an amazing Monday–Friday stay at Cove #2 in mid-August. We were incredibly lucky to discover this Hipcamp during a quiet week before word of its splendor inevitably spreads. The solitude may not last, but the gracious hospitality and breathtaking setting certainly will!
Host: Peter is a kind, gentle steward of the land and his guests. He reached out when we were delayed by car trouble, greeted us personally, explained everything, and checked in unobtrusively throughout our stay. A genuinely wonderful host.
The Setting: The photos are accurate, but somehow still undersell this gorgeous, sprawling valley meadow. There are no bad angles! The campsites at the water’s edge are especially peaceful. This end of Loon Lake was glassy calm and warm enough to float for hours. Paddleboards and kayaks can launch from several points along the creek and marsh to access the lake.
The property is huge, with trails and little nooks to explore. Campsites are large, but this isn’t the place for privacy when full—and sound travels surprisingly far in the enclosed valley.
A few notes: There’s very little shade, so summer can be hot despite the breeze. Bring awnings! It’s pack-in/pack-out, Wifi is available in the barn and plentiful water is available but must be filtered for drinking.
If you haven’t discovered TPALL yet, I hope this conveys some of its magic. Once you’ve been, you’ll understand!

It was great camping on this land. It felt like a private valley that's hidden away from the rest of the world.
We car camped and had a great experience! Peter was so nice and very accommodating. The drive there was beautiful and the site wasn’t buggy. He did have water in case we needed it. He also has kayak rentals and swimming which we didn’t partake in but will plan to next time. We will for sure be coming back!

We had an amazing stay! Can't say enough good things about it. Peter was very welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. Our daughter loved seeing the animals and playing in the lake. Highly recommend staying!
This was everything everyone has stated previously! Peter is an amazing host, person & Christian! What a beautiful place he is making for all of us to make such wonderful memories!! We had so much fun & loved the place so much, we stayed a few days extra, rode the motorcycle, picked fresh berries & figs, met the animals and enjoyed his beautiful piece of heaven. He even joined us for a brats & fresh scratch blackberry pie by our campfire. I hope he enjoys the blackberry jam or ice cream topper, depending upon setting. See ya in 10 years to see how you have grown! Stan & Tami.
Great camping spot with a lot of room to spread out. Especially compared to the close by camping available around the lake. Peter was a great host. The kids loved it. Easy water access and plenty for the kids to walk around and do. Will return, have already recommended it to others, as much as we'd like to keep this one a secret.

Peter has a good thing going on. Tons of space in each campsite. Beautiful valley setting. Easy access for our kayaks and paddle boards. He is a kind and generous host and seemed to attract good guests. My family and I enjoyed everything about it. Planning on going again.
This place is AMAZING! Peter really goes the extra mile with hay rides, visiting the goats and horses, the kayak rentals... the entire experience was perfect we'll definitely be back!

Plenty of open space between campsites made it easy camp privately, yet still close enough if you wished to be social with your neighbors. The scenic nature of the area is nothing short of spectacular. We visited in mid August. Morning and evenings cooled down significantly, while daytime temps got quite hot, even under overcast. The grounds are very well maintained. Grass is mowed reasonably for camping and kept at a level appropriate for goats and horses to graze on. Speaking of which, there are friendly animals on the property whom we got the opportunity to give back-scratches to. Our host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodated. We will be returning for another camping getaway ASAP
If you're reading this review - STOP AND BOOK IT!!! You will not regret it for 100%. Especially if your group has kids! This place is GEM!! Absolutely wonderful place with huuuge potencial! Huge lake, slow river for nice paddle board ride, horses and goats! And for sure - ALL of these THANKS TO ROCKSTAR host PETER!! One of our best camping ever! We got unlucky with weather for stargazing but I bet it would be best spot for it! Will come back and highly recommend this place!

It was a beautiful piece of land and we felt like we had lots of peaceful space to ourselves. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water and fishing. Peter was super friendly and helpful. Had a great time.
The host were great! The camp sites were all really nice and spacious. We ended up renting kayaks and kayaking around the lake and down a little river that ran alongside the campsite. We also met his horses and goats and it was by far the best site we stayed over our week camping on the coast. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We love visiting the park at Loon Lake!
It is so peaceful and beautiful and Peter, the host is great! Very warm and welcoming! The property is well taken care of and the activities available are a plus to anyone wanting some recreation especially on the water with Kayaking and the like!
My favorite stay during a month+ long road trip across the country. Peter is great and clearly cares about the property and guests’ experiences. I had a swim and was glad to go to bed and wake up with the swallows. Wildlife and natural scenery is a highlight here, and the area is very charming. The sites are not secluded, but are spaced apart enough for that to not be an issue. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem! Tucked away in the hills not far from the Oregon coast, Loon Lake is feels like a local treasure! The Camp has tons of space for whatever kind of rig or tent you're camping in. A lovely meadow surrounded by wooded hills, with lake access at one end, it is very serene and Peter is a great host. Recommended!
Do download the directions before you leave the highway, as you'll lose cell service well before you get there. If you're heading in from OR 38, you'll know you're almost there when you get to Loon Lake Lodge RV park and boat launch.

Amazing spot! Peter is a great host, the spots are all well taken care of. Portapotties were all super clean. Obviously on the expensive side due to how many people each site can accommodate, but even with only 10 people, we loved it. Right next to Loon Lake, 35 minutes from Reedsport.

Our family just got back from a great camping experience at Loon Lake! Peter was very responsive to messages and he was a great host once we got there. The location is absolutely gorgeous. It’s essentially a meadow surrounded by hills on all sides. Peter limits the amount of campers so that it’s a peaceful experience. The kids took their inner tubes out on the lake and we swam in the water. It has a floating dock to jump out on which we enjoyed It connects to the much larger portion of the lake which is stunning. Peter gave campers the opportunity to meet his horses and goats which the kids absolutely loved. He provides free spring water and stopped by to make sure everything was as expected. Stargazing was amazing. Note, be sure to not take the route that winds you up and down the mountains on narrow roads for what felt like undeterminable amount of time in a large camper van. There’s a much better route that he informed me of, in advance but I had overlooked! We would definitely love to come again.

Amazing campground! The host is so nice. The campground is super safe, and very family friendly. Sites are well spaced. Amazing access to the lake for swimming, paddling, and more! The sites on the field are very sunny, so being a pop up - but this is one of the most peaceful and beautiful lake campsites I’ve been to in a long time. Definitely recommend!
Peter is an outstanding host—- very present, engaged and connected. He clearly loves his property and wants people to enjoy it with him. The site’s are wonderfully spacious. There is a lot of variety and capabilities at this campground. Having the kayak option easily available was a real draw for me.. I would highly recommend this place. My son and I are looking forward to returning.
