Absolutely beautiful property. You can expect to see an abundance of various wildlife. A view of converging waters supported by a picturesque view of the range. Access to both public and private water front leaves plenty of explorable river bank. Peter is an exceptional host who communicates great. He was also willing to share any information to fit our objectives and ensure we had a stress free camping trip.
The property is easy to access from black top. Once on the property you can retreat from the noise of the road and enjoy a peaceful sunset with very little activity on the road that blends into the beautiful starry night where the road goes quiet and the wonders of the sky are viewable. I Highly recommend a stay with Peter, whether it’s a solo trip or the whole family you can count on this place to provide a sanctuary anyone can enjoy.

This area was absolutely amazing and Peter was an extremely generous host. We kayed and caught some fish, and enjoyed the secluded area very much. We will be back!

Gorgeous property! Wildlife aplenty! Beavers, deer, eagles, hawks, fish! Very private. Rustic cabin with all the basic amenities. Nice walk to the lake. We had our small boat and launched it from a nearby boat ramp, then were allowed to tie up at the dock. Lots of fish, caught a few too! Super friendly and accommodating hosts. I can't wait to come back!

I had the most incredible time here! This is some of the most beautiful land I have been on. Not a bad view in any direction! The lake and connecting creek is perfect for paddle boarders. There’s a spot to rent jet-skis, boards, and kayaks across the lake. I also loved that the camp was grass and not a dirt patch. This is magical land and I can’t wait to go back!

My tribe of friends and I had the best time camping on the point! The early fall scenery was beautiful as it the begins to transition with color, providing us with a pleasantly warm afternoon for paddling, and fresh crisp air in the evening. We saw deer and herons, an eagle and osprey, big jumping fish and little hopping frogs! Already planning our next trip!

This was just what we needed on a crowded Labor Day weekend -- space by the lake, a shared dock, and a great calm spot. Peter was very helpful and has an amazing layout. We'll be back!

We had such a relaxing and delightful time camping at Tom Fool Creek by the Lake (site #3). No matter which direction we looked, we were treated to a lovely view of mountains, trees, a nice variety of birds, an incredible starry sky at night, and of course the beautiful lake. The property is vast, and the campsites are far enough from one another that even when other campers arrived, our site still provided the quiet space and privacy we were seeking during our quick getaway from the city. We feel grateful to have come across Peter's listing, and he was a gracious and kind host throughout our stay. There are some communal spaces on the land, as well, and we were lucky enough to meet some of Peter's nice neighbors, too. As if that weren't treat enough, we briefly got to meet his pack of sweet labradors, who were all tail wags and friendly greetings. The two days went by much too quickly, and we are already looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks so much, Peter!

Such a beautiful spot! We felt very lucky to have found such a lovely space, even if it's a bit rough. Lots of bramble and divets but still found a good spot for our tents and didn't feel any divets with our standard sleeping pad. The bathrooms were clean and the creek/lake were lovely. Lots of beautiful wildlife too.

My wife and I hosted a camping weekend for our young adult kids and friends. A fabulous time was had by all! Our site was quite private with just a short walk to the lake. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, rock hounding, and star gazing when it wasn't raining kept our group actively engaged and away from screens, though high speed wifi is readily available with a five minute walk to the barn. Porta potties were clean and wheelchair accessible, though at least one was in need of service.
Peter is an attentive and accommodating host...we enjoyed chatting with him and hearing his vision for creating a fun and nurturing park for disabled children and their families.
We will certainly be back!

We loved our stay at this sweet, spacious campsite on Loon Lake !
Such a peaceful, beautiful place... We swam, kayaked, bird-watched, and generally relaxed. Peter was a wonderful host- so helpful and friendly.
We. like so many other reviewers, plan to return one day. Next time we'll share it with friends !

We had a wonderful weekend at this campsite! Peter was so kind and the area was beautiful. It was wonderful having so much space to ourselves and not being in a crowded campground (especially since we had dogs and toddlers). We had kids at multiple ages and they all enjoyed their time here. We especially loved kayaking, frog hunting, taking the dogs for a swim in the lake, playing ball in the open field, and the fun hayride Peter took us on. We would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be back!

Our group of 24 had a great time at Lake Creek Getaway, Large open property. Close hike to the lake. Beautiful view.
Peter was very nice. He supplied us with water and offered us a hayride around the property.
Porta Potties and Wifi is available at the entrance to the property.
We would recommend this site, and would go back.

Lake Creek Loop - (Group) site 6
The Lake Creek Getaway spot was perfect for our needs. We were a group of 5 families, each with a small trailer or tents. Lake Creek Getaway had lots of space for us to spread out, as well as space to set up a badminton net and goals for the kids to play soccer. By far the best feature, however, was easy access to the water. Every day members of our group put in their kayaks and paddle boards on the creek, and made their way through gorgeous scenery to Loon Lake where they explored and swam in the deep water. Also special was the little cove-side peninsula Peter has set up with a picnic table and lounge chairs - great place to enjoy the scenery and water fun from the shore. All in all a great experience and one we hope to return to some day.

This was our second stay, we loved it so much we had to stay one more time before we headed home from our trip! We will be back again, hopefully next year! Felt so at home and at peace here! Thank you Peter for making our trip special by providing such a lovely space for us!

Great beautiful place to camp and not far from the beach. Peter is a great host and made us feel right at home. There was a large group camped not far away but they were very respectful and kept the noise down.
Great access to Loon Lake. Beautiful place!

Had a great time at this camp site at Loon Lake. Peter has done a wonderful job making some very tranquil and private sites at his property. This site has a good amount of shade in the morning until about 1pm. Then the afternoon sun was on us until about 6:30 or so. We spent the afternoons swimming at the lake so it’s not a big deal just be sure to take a canopy or umbrella for shade. The highs were in the low/mid 70s, it was very comfortable.

We spent a wonderful four days at Lakefront by the Cove. My wife and her sisters grew up going to this lake. The kids fished and swam from daylight to dark and didn't miss electronics at all. We had seven travel trailers circled up with great views of the mountains and Loon Lake. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our time at this campsite. It was incredibly spacious, and the other campers were a good distance apart so it felt private. Peter was an incredible host and made sure we had everything we needed. We were able to rent kayaks and enjoy the beautiful lake. Since this is an open field, it was perfect for stargazing, we saw some shooting stars and the milky way was also visible. We will definitely be back here again.

Absolutely wonderful camping location! The host was so kind and the spot is by far the best camping spot we’ve had. We were right next to the lake and there was even a little chair by the water which was beyond romantic for my boyfriend and I. We sat out and listened to the crickets and watched the stars for hours. 250/10. Definitely coming back!

My group and I had an amazing time here. Our camp spot was absolutley perfect. It was big and super close to the water. There was a nice dock that we could use for swimming, relaxing, and launching our kayaks and paddleboards. The host, Peter, gave us a hayride tour of the property and would tell us about the things he has planned for the future. I 100% recommend camping here and can't wait to go back next year!

Open spacious, well cared for! Easy access to the lake with a dock for kayaks and small boats. Peter is very accommodating and care deeply about the welfare of his guests. He has a lovely vision for this property and maintains it with great care! We enjoyed our stay and will book with him again!

Friendly host and beautiful location. The serene, parklike and private feel of this campsite put it right up there with the best of the many Hipcamp sites I have visited. It’s so much more in balance with nature and peaceful than the nearby Loon Lake RV park which is a zoo in summer. Google maps will land you on a pullout about a tenth of a mile from the driveway. Just keep going until you see the drive on the right with welcome flag.

This completely magical land was a true joy to spend time on, with several different gorgeous little zones, wonderful swimming off the dock into the deep creek, stunning paddling with lots of wildlife views, and an opportunity for quiet enjoyment of Loon Lake in a lovely lilypadded slough, away from the motorized watercraft. Nearly the best part was how incredibly accommodating and cool the host is. Peter’s vision for his land is truly inspiring and he goes well above and beyond to make sure people are having a great time. He weedwhacked us a new camping area that better suited our needs, made us a creek entry, brought us a hammock and extra water, and even took our group on a hayride tour of the property. He offered us some extra tackle for our kids’ fishing poles, and even gave someone in our party a sun hat when needed. He is setting up the land to someday provide enriching experiences for disabled children. It’s enriching for everyone! Everyone in our group left there glowing. We’ll be back every year for as long as he keeps renting it!

We came across this beautiful property when we had to quickly change our camping plans due to fires in Deschutes County and I was beyond pleased with the change in locations. Peter clearly has a passion for sharing his land and was an exceptional host. He has been thoughtful in the set up of the sites, with picnic tables, hammocks, kayaks available for rent, and a Wi-Fi hot spot near the barn. I appreciated being able to disconnect but still have a short walk to be able to check in with the "outside world." The dock was a hit for swimming and easy access for the kayaks to explore Loon Lake and the creek. We loved sitting and watching the birds, listening to the bull frogs (and catching them 😁) and star gazing at night. We took an afternoon and enjoyed the sandy beach, on the otherside of Loon Lake, in the day use area. We forgot a few things, so having the Loon Lake lodge a few minutes away was also a nice perk. As much as i would love to keep this haven a secret, its just too beautiful not to share so others can enjoy the peaceful lakeside space too. Overall, our group truly enjoyed the space and I'm already trying to find another weekend to get over there before the winter weather hits the Oregon Coast. Happy Camping!

Our own open space of quiet and peaceful. The dock provides a great swimming hole and easy kayak launch point. We saw beaver, heron, king fishers, a family of mallards, bullfrogs, and enjoyed great stargazing. The host went above and beyond to make our stay great.
The wind did kick up a bit each late afternoon/evening, so we had to stake everything down well and glad to have packed a sweatshirt, but it did calm down at sunset.

This is a once in a lifetime spot you do not want to miss. Situated on an absolutely breathtaking piece of land on the gorgeous Loon Lake. Peter is a very kind and accommodating host - he clearly is passionate about the land and the vision he has for restoring the wetlands, building a park and camp for kids.
This will undoubtedly become a hip camp hot spot with essentially 26 acres of land to yourself. Very private, quiet and serene. Our site was a very short walk to the lake. The view from the dock area is amazing - picturesque. There’s a resident bald eagle, beavers slapping the pond at night and a chorus of bull frogs to lull you to sleep.
Don’t wait, book this site as fast as you can! You will not regret it and will be wanting to revisit year after year!
