This place is heaven. So nice. Birds everywhere. Beautiful lake.....it is perfect. I hope you get to meet Peter. What an amazing guy with a vision to help, bless, support and love on people. We need more Peter's in the world.

Camping here was a great pit stop on our road trip. Peter is super friendly and took us on a hayride to meet the horses and goats We wished we could have stayed another day to play in the lake. Keep in mind there’s no shade or privacy at this site. Portopotties were very clean!

The campsite was beautiful! The pictures definitely don’t do it justice! The ground was flat, which was awesome for tent camping and the fire-pits were perfect sized! Though what really shown through was the host! Peter was so welcoming, took us on the hay ride to pet some horses and gave us free water! 10/10 experience! Recommending it for everyone!

We had such a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating from the moment we arrived. He even helped carry our kayaks and floaties down to the water, which made getting set up so much easier and was such a thoughtful gesture.
The campsite itself was peaceful, serene, and very well maintained. It is clear a lot of love goes into the land. Everything was spotless, and the whole place had such a warm, happy atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Even the porta potties were impressively clean they honestly felt brand new.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend! Peter is the best!

We absolutely loved camping at Peter’s place. The campsites are so nicely maintained, the toilets are super clean, and the views are spectacular. Peter went above and beyond to check in with us and make sure everything was in order. The kids had a blast on the hay ride and seeing the horses and goats. We absolutely can see ourselves coming back to this spot time and time again. Truly a magical camping experience!

Peter was very nice and let us change our campsite because the entire campground was empty. Very nice land and it is very well maintained. Cleanest toilets I have ever seen on a campground. I highly recommend for a very secluded and open camping spot. Also firewood was included on the campsite which was very nice.

The Original Lake Creek Getaway #7
My family just wrapped up a stay at The Park at Loon Lake, and it quickly became one of our favorite camping trips. Peter, the owner, has created a place that feels genuinely welcoming — the kind of campground where families can slow down, relax, and enjoy being together.
The grounds are clean, spacious, and beautifully set against the hills and trees. Our site had plenty of room for the trailer, truck, chairs, games, and all the usual family gear. Mornings were incredible with mist drifting through the trees and sunlight breaking over the hills.
Evenings were just as good. The fire ring was perfect, and we had more than enough space to gather, talk, laugh, and unwind. The string lights and banners added a cozy, community feel.
A highlight was Peter giving hay rides to families. It’s a simple thing, but it shows how much he cares about creating memorable experiences. The kids loved it, the adults loved it, and it’s something we’ll talk about for a long time.
The whole campground has a relaxed, family‑friendly vibe. People were kind, respectful, and clearly enjoying themselves. You can play cornhole, cook a meal, sit by the fire, and watch the sun drop behind the hills without feeling crowded.
If you’re looking for a clean, scenic, well‑run campground with an owner who truly cares, The Park at Loon Lake is absolutely worth the trip. We’ll be back.

We had an amazing time camping on Peter’s land! He was so kind and directed us to our site and checked multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. He even gave us a hay ride down to the lake so we didn’t have to carry our paddle board. The property is very large and well maintained. The spots are out in the open with minimal trees but we never felt a lack of privacy during our stay. The spots are in very direct sunlight during the day so I would recommend bringing something for shade if tent camping. The lake is so beautiful and there is so much wildlife to see. I would highly recommend staying on Peter’s land and we will be back!

Peter's ,"The park at Loon Lake" was awesome, so much better than I was expecting. This was our first time using Hipcamp and I was slightly skeptical when I shouldn't have been. The directions were spot on and when we pulled in, Peter was driving up at that same time and greeted us and another camper. He showed us where to go and we set up. The space we chose was super close to the lagoon/lake and basically a really large open field, he provided 10 gallons of his natural spring water if needed, which I thought was a nice touch. He had kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards available to rent and he dropped off lifejackets for us. We petted and enjoyed interacting with his friendly dogs and 3 goats. It's a really beautiful spot and definitely plan on coming back with friends and family. PS bring binoculars to watch the wildlife, we saw multiple bald eagles, osprey, woodpeckers, robins, swallows, geese, ducks, beavers, bull frogs, fish... it's a really beautiful peaceful space. Thanks for having us!

If there’s a review to read it’s this one - This place is the absolute best. I have been road tripping across the U.S for 1.5 months now (staying at state parks, air bnbs, hotels, countless hipcamps) and couldn’t believe I found this place. When I arrived I was greeted by Peter who was the nicest/coolest guy. He helped me make my campfire and spent lots of time talking to him. I ended up staying an extra night just because of how much I enjoyed the place. The animals, birds, and amenities were incredible. It beats any place I’ve stayed at so far along my trip, and I wish I could go back. I stayed at site #7&8 and had the best time. If you’re ever in the area or not (I drove an extra 1.5 hours out of my way to come here) I would highly suggest it! The bathrooms were incredibly clean, the place had so much room for privacy and walking and etc, and it was clear that a lot of work was put into making it what it is. Oh and the sunsets are the best you’ll ever see! Such a great time! 10/10.

Fabulous! Beautiful property with hiking trails and a shady creek at the very end of Loon Lake. Lovely location and friendly host. The lake was gorgeous. We had our dogs or we would have rented kayaks. We loved meeting the goats! Our dogs had a great time too. Make sure your directions take you through Reedsport though, not the other direction! We accidentally went that way and it was a pretty intense drive with no cell service. Bring shade if tent camping because it's pretty sunny in the afternoon.

Wonderful experience! Great views surrounded by mountains, beautiful lake, plenty of space to explore and get away. Peter built the fireplace for us the day we got there, and even mowed down a path for us to enjoy walking along the river. We saw elk, a bullfrog, plenty of dragon flies, and a beaver! We rented kayaks and enjoyed sitting by the river watching an eagle. We stayed for 10 days but wish we could've stayed longer.

If there’s ever a review to trust, it’s this one - I’ve been traveling the U.S solo roadtripping for a month+ now and have been saying at Hipcamps, airbnbs, state parks, and free campsites. Out of all the places I’ve seen and stayed at, this one is by far the best. I ended up staying an extra day because I liked it so much. The host was super cool to talk with and he was helpful with so much, helped me make a campfire too! If you’re solo, or with a family or huge group it’s all amazing. There’s a beautiful creek that runs through and has the coolest birds/animals. Bald eagles, deer, beavers, ducks, etc like everything. It’s quiet, and very well maintained. The amount of work that went into here is also incredible. I fished the creek, bird-watched, cooked out by the fire pits, swam, watched the craziest sunset here, and there was even more to do (kayak, goats, etc). If you stumble upon this campsite, I would highly highly recommend it. 10/10.

Peter’s land was the perfect place to celebrate my bday with friends. Such a beautiful spot to sleep under the stars, surrounded by incredible nature. It was the perfect day to rent kayaks, Peters hospitality was above and beyond. Forever grateful for the memories we made petting horses and goats and enjoying laughs over a campfire. We will definitely be back!

I had never used Hipcamp before and going into this I wasn’t sure what to expect. But let me tell you, it was better than I could have ever imagined! Just expecting a tiny camping site crowded together like a lot of state parks, this was anything but. Located on the southern part of the lake, we not only had access to the lake but also the creek that were both perfect areas for kayaking/paddle boarding. The land was well maintained, our designated camp site was an overly generous size, picnic tables, porta potties and a fire pit near the beautiful view of the lake.
Our camp host, Peter, is an amazing human and host. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the property this weekend and got to know him and his dream for the place which made it all the more special. We played with his goats and fed the horses, he brought the kayaks down to us and got it all set up so it would be easy peasy and enjoyable for us to just hop in and go when we were ready. He really did go above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time.
As described in other reviews, the wildlife is in full force all around. The toads sing (pretty loudly, maybe bring some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper), birds chirping and we could hear the beavers slapping the water a few times. Saw a bald eagle. The bugs were not bad, no rodents or pests bugging us during our stay. It was honestly perfect and we will 100% be going back.

Absolutely beautiful property. You can expect to see an abundance of various wildlife. A view of converging waters supported by a picturesque view of the range. Access to both public and private water front leaves plenty of explorable river bank. Peter is an exceptional host who communicates great. He was also willing to share any information to fit our objectives and ensure we had a stress free camping trip.
The property is easy to access from black top. Once on the property you can retreat from the noise of the road and enjoy a peaceful sunset with very little activity on the road that blends into the beautiful starry night where the road goes quiet and the wonders of the sky are viewable. I Highly recommend a stay with Peter, whether it’s a solo trip or the whole family you can count on this place to provide a sanctuary anyone can enjoy.
