Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, and a yurt. Our spaces are quite large and essentially each site is a group site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

This is a beautiful spot. I fell asleep both nights listening to the ocean in the distance, and woke up to birds. There were a few other campers there but the sites are spaced out generously so it felt very private. I really appreciated the hot shower. Would stay again!

A truly beautiful spot, especially if you have well behaved dogs as the meadow is a wonderful space for them to run around. Porta potty facilities were adequate. Shower, water and WiFi connection not that handy but it was great for a one night stop. The road in is fairly long and a little rough but again fine if you are not going in and out. I loved it but maybe not for everyone!

The open fields were great to throw a frisbee and football around. The portable toilets were clean, well-stocked, and had hand sanitizer. It was nice to camp and have a campfire and still have a lot of distance between other campers.

The campground is peaceful, spacious, and exactly what we were looking for. Our site had plenty of room to pull in and get set up, and we really appreciated the generous space between campsites—it felt private without being isolated. The owner was friendly, and it was a fun surprise to find out they're fair family too. The hot showers were a huge bonus after a day of exploring. It took a few minutes for the water to heat up, but once it did, it was fantastic. Overall, this is a beautiful, relaxing place to camp, and we'd happily stay here again. Highly recommend!

It could be a great place if the porta potties were consistently clean. Very large sites, beautifully quiet, and near Sunset Bay and Cape Arago. When we arrived, some of the potties were filthy and some immaculate and had been cleaned the day we arrived. Luckily, we were able to find a site near the clean ones and had a lovely time.

Entire Campground (including yurt)
We had about 225 people here at the entire campsite. It was amazing! There was ample space for all of us to camp: youth separated into boys sections and girls sections sleeping areas, adult supervisors having a campground separating the two, AND plenty of more space for day activities, kitchen crew, and parking. Love love love this place!!

Loved the camp site! Sooo much room for our 2 dogs to play and be free. Campsites are clean and spacious with a good amount of distance between sites. Nice fire pits and tables. We especially enjoyed spacious view of the night sky, and off the beaten path vibe yet close to all the activities the area has to offer.

It's so quiet!! We stayed over as we were driving from WA State to Bodega Bay. We could not believe how absolutely wonderful Tim's Hipcamp was. Great directions from the Host, and seriously, it was so peaceful. BONUS: No mosquitoes! Go, book now.

We loved this camp. We chose a cozy nook nehind the trees. There is lots of groomed space to choose from and take a walk. There are no bright yard lights or any noises to keep you awake. Its just a few minutes back to Sunset Beach! We filled up our water tanks at the house becuase of the excellent instructions given before hand. Thank you Tim, I'm sure we'll be back.

Great place to spend a few days. So fun to play the golf course next door. Wide open meadows but still providing privacy by how it's designed. Bathrooms were very clean and taken care of. Excellent fire pit. Picnic table. Overall we loved it!

Site 10 - Sunset Bay Meadows
I'm 75 and have been camping all my life and this spot is EXACTLY HOW TENT CAMPING should be! The sites are large & set far apart. The area was well maintained, and the Porta-Potty's were fine. Best of all I could not even see the other campers from my site or had to sit in their smoke as I find the fire pit smoke & noise pollution is most parks is at it's highest and unhealthy! My tip: don't arrive after dark as the road is narrow, dirt, steep in places and not quite enough signs to be assured one is heading to the right area. Tim deserves my eternal gratitude for providing such a wonderful spot.

Big, beautiful well manicured camp sites, semi private with outdoor toilets provided. The bird life was amazing! Having water available is a definite plus! We LOVED our 6 day stay!

Site 3 - Sunset Bay Meadows
The group site was top tier. We will be coming back; it’s on our top 5 list for camping. It was so relaxed, having clean porta potty’s was amazing and being away enough to feel secluded but close enough to grab things we forgot in town. Loved that a cute beach access was close. Tim was so kind and helpful but not overly involved and we loved that.

The campsite was really spacious and I liked that each site had some distance between it. The host was very responsive. The location was wonderful and me and my family had a great time. We would definitely come back!
