Nestled on the bank of the North Umpqua River. Surrounded by oak savannas with access to the North Umpqua Habitat (BLM). This secluded rustic/primitive dry camp will accommodate Tent and RV set ups as well as horse camping, fishing, swimming, kayaking, with walking access to the North Umpqua River. You can also go hiking or horseback riding on over 7000 acres of BLM land. Only 12 miles to the city of Roseburg or Sutherland. Easy access from I-5. Guest note: we rotationally graze our cattle (while the campground is open for business) in the months of February/March/April/May/and early June. Message before booking if you want to know if the cattle are on the grounds when you wish to say. They are docile yet curious but pose no threat to campers.Enjoy this rustic camp right on the North Umpqua River. With access to 7500 acres of BLM land. Enjoy swimming, paddling, fishing (when not restricted) horseback riding, watching the wildlife or just relax with walking river access and listen to the river. Campfires are allowed seasonally. This is a working ranch. You may see cattle, goats, and horses. This is a great spot for horse campers and hunters wanting to take advantage of the North Umpqua Habitat. W

Pretty river spot

Great spot! Quiet and beautiful…right on the river. We came in winter - and the ground was super soft - so, Cat had us park on the gravel (smart suggestion). She came out to check on us after we arrived - to determine if we needed the solar lights to guide us to the outhouse. Thoughtful. The only thing to be wary of - is the turn into the property. With a big rig, you will need to stop traffic (which was minimal in our experience) to make a wide turn while someone opens/closes the gate. With more traffic, you will want to use your hazard lights…and take care.

Great place. Love the peacefulness!

We really enjoyed our time at HipCamp. It is beautiful and peaceful. Cat stopped by and was really welcoming. We saw black tail deer and turkeys. Even spotted an Albino turkey hen!

Peaceful river time

A very peaceful and relaxing river setting for a night or two. Friends and I were the only campers so the gravel pull off's easily accomodated a 26' Class C and a 34' Class A both towing vehicles. Cat stopped by to make sure we were getting settled in ok. She was so friendly and helpful. Thank you Cat!

This was a great spot to car camp as we passed through the area. While some spots were more open, we found plenty of space for us to find our own private area to set up. The instructions were very easy, which was ideal for our late arrival. We enjoyed our stay here!
