Amazing. Loved the river access and the open area. We got really lucky that it was post-fire season and we got to have a fire. It was really clean and easy to find a spot to pull up and camp!

This is a great spot to camp, just be sure to have plans for your water. There’s plenty of room for a large group, and the area is well maintained by the owners. You’ll get to be around some nice wildlife too.
We loved this spot! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a rustic camping spot in the Roseburg area. It was quiet, private, had river access and felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. Picnic tables scattered throughout and very clean portapotties, there were many options for good camping spots on the land. Some other campers showed up on our 2nd night there and we barely crossed paths - plenty of room for everyone to have a private spot. At night, it was an awesome cacophony of crickets and different owl hoots. Bring your boots - lots of wild turkeys and deer (and their poop lol). No cell phone service or potable water - again, it’s a rustic spot, perfect if you like privacy and being in nature over conveniences of a campsite. We’ll definitely be back when coming through the area, we loved it!!

Excellent camp spot. I usually stop at this property on my way up to Seattle
Absolutely wonderful place! Right on the river. There were so much juicy blackberries. We were the only ones there. Very serene beautiful place, we loved it.

We had the whole place to ourselves and enjoyed sitting by the river and star gazing at night. The toilets were incredibly clean and there’s lots of space for several groups to have privacy. I did find a tick on me (not uncommon for the area) so would recommend doing tick checks periodically while staying there.
Well kept, nice open spaces with lots of trees for privacy. Porta potty was super clean. We showed up after 10pm and it was all easy to get in the gate and into a spot. I’d consider it again!

Quiet and clean. Plenty of space. Would be great to make more access points to the river and clear the brush so you could actually camp with open views of the river. Otherwise it was great!

Beautiful spot on the river! Cat is a great host! This was our second time staying and we hope to be back again.
We stayed at the River Ranch on the last night of a weeklong trip from the Oregon Coast, to the Redwoods and then here. The camp was empty when we arrived and we had the place to ourselves for the duration of our stay. We parked our 13 ft scamp and truck near the river access point and enjoyed swimming in the river, walking around the property and observing lots of animals! The property is large and has some lovely large trees to provide shady spots and there were port-o-potties sprinkled about. There is no water or hookups, so make sure your rig is self-sufficient. We loved our stay and would gladly return. Check in was easy and the host greeted us with her cute pup and then let us be!

I loved this spot, and my dog did too! Super quiet location well away from the hum of the freeway while still being a convenient stop during a long trip down I-5. The area is fenced which was great for my dog who needed to run after many hours in the car. We also appreciated big oak trees for shade, the picnic tables, and the super clean porta potties. The star gazing was excellent, we saw a lot of shooters! River access was awesome. Wish I could’ve stayed longer and hope to return!

We had an awesome time with our two pups on Cat's land! Camped under a big oak tree and spent early mornings splashing in the shallows of the river. The two porta potties on the property were clean and had clearly been serviced right before the weekend.

Great river spot with little kids and lovely property!
This was such a gem of a spot. We arrived mid week and had the place to ourselves for a couple days. The river access has the perfect "mini rapid" for kids that feeds into a family friendly swimming hole. My 6 year old and 4 year old were so proud that they could float it alone.

They loved it! Loved how there was river access, they saw turkeys, took a couple hikes locally, it was great, we will be back.
Over priced. For what you get and what's available in the Sutherland area your charging to much, example Sutherland KOA 40.00 a night.
Never saw the host, not sure anyone knew I was there.
Biggest issue IMO is an inadequate approach into and leaving the property. You need enough room for a person who is pulling a trailer to get completely off the roadway in order to deal with the gate, coming and going. Huge liability issue the way it's set up now...again IMO
We were very relieved to find a hip camp that would allow our 2 horses. We were going to fish, swim, and horse ride and were about to give up finding a place when we checked hip camp. Cathryn’s place is so beautiful and relaxing. We were able to ride from the property onto public lands as well as swim at the river. We would definitely stay here again and really appreciated the way the property had some oak trees and some smaller trees which made campsites feel naturally private. There were other campers a few nights and everyone was friendly and happy to be there with plenty of room for all. We lucked out on the weather as it was sunny and warm in the day but nice and cool in the evening. What a very special place! Thank you Cathryn for this hip camp!

Our second time visiting this spot and it has only gotten better - Cat is clearly working on improving the site with better water access and more places to camp! We did find quite a few ticks, but there's nothing anyone can do about those other than be vigilant in checking themselves (and their dogs) - this is just a heads up to any campers that stay there.

The property is well maintained and beautiful. The trees and landscape offer privacy and good river access.
Nice little ranch with lots of space for campers near the river.
I don't know that I know if you can access the river from the property however it's a very shaded property with it looks like an old apple orchard. Easy to track on the grass even in my Prius-
The porta potties were the best I've ever seen clean as a whistle 😀

Its a beautiful private fenced in area, perfect for letting pets or kids roam. Private river access which is gorgeous, not great fishing but great for playing. I've stayed here twice and if youre looking for close to town with toilets this is the place to be.
