Off Season Rates - November 1st to March 31st - 2026 / 2027 Follow on Instagram @upriver23paradise Centrally located in the McKenzie River Valley, near Mckenzie Bridge Oregon. "Upriver Paradise" is your private gated retreat. Pull up a chair, start enjoying the elevated views and tranquil sounds of the McKenzie river while overlooking forestry lands. Steps away to your private river access with approx. 150 ft of river frontage. Explore the banks , cast a line, try out the plunge pool, take in the wildlife, wave to rafters and drift boats floating by. Included are two power and potable water sites, up to 8 guest. Power pedestals have 50-30 and 20 amps at each location. Both locations have a 50' power extensions(30amp) and extra water hoses if needed. There are two picnic tables, fire pit, extra seating, garbage, WIFI and one portable toilet on site for use during your stay. There is no septic on site for gray or black waste There is a dump site approx. 1 mile west. For larger groups if needed: Upon request (2) additional power and water connection sites can be accommodated with same amenities above, up to (6) additional guest or up to (14) total per night, for an additional fees. On the east end of the 2.5 acre property, there are two cabins for short term rentals that you can also check out on Instagram @ Upriver23paradise A three bedroom house and a one bedroom cabin listed on ABB-VRBO for family or friends, just a short walk to camp. Please inquire if you would like additional information of listings for availability and booking.Ounce you arrive, choose the best view you prefer to set up your RV's or tents that suits all your needs during your stay. Spectacular Stay Upriver

Once again; WOW! We were here last summer and stayed in the larger of the 2 VRBO rentals on the property. There were 7 of us in the house and we had so much space. The place had everything we needed, the kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable and the place was clean. NOW, onto this summer! We rented the camping spot for 2 weeks and brought our travel trailer from AZ. So glad the smaller VRBO cottage was available so that our friends from Eugene could spend the first 5 days with us. Upon arrival, Steve greeted us and made sure we were set up. We were able to position our rig aligned with the river! The view down to the roaring McKenzie was spectacular! Unfortunately, we had some trouble with our propane tanks and Steve helped us replace the tubes as they were leaking. He gave us a quick orientation to the spot; which included a clean water hose and an electrical extension! We had everything we needed. We eventually had 4 more rigs arrive from AZ and each had electrical and water. There is a honey bucket on site. Steve also arranged to have our rigs pumped by a sanitation service twice while we were there! This was inexpensive and well worth it. I could not ask for a more organized, helpful and kind human as our host. We enjoy getting to see Steve each year. Thank you again for a magical experience. Your place is so special, well decorated and so clean. Until we meet again.

Steve has done an outstanding job building this Hipcamp into something special. The host is available, but not omnipresent and always has a smile for you. The location is the best on the river and it is hard to find reason to leave it while camping there. Not "neked" privacy, but almost. :)

Upper River Paradise Private Retreat is everything the reviews say it is—and there's a reason it's in such high demand. Steve is an exceptional host who has clearly invested an incredible amount of thought, care, and attention into every aspect of the property. From the layout and strategically placed sitting and viewing areas to the landscaping that beautifully complements the native surroundings, every detail has been considered. What impressed us most is how natural it all feels. The planning and craftsmanship are evident, yet nothing feels forced or overdone. It's a rare place where thoughtful design blends seamlessly with the beauty of the environment. The property is peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly relaxing. We knew before we left that this would become an annual stop for us. As highly as one can recommend a place, we wholeheartedly recommend Upper River Paradise Private Retreat. If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it—you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing private space. Large enough for a few RVs as a group site but I really appreciate that Steve keeps it private to the group. Steve was a great host. Super accommodating, greeted us on arrival but gave us lots of privacy. The site itself is full featured with a great fire ring as well as multiple great places to sit and enjoy the river. The area overall is underrated. We loved it and will definitely be back to enjoy Steve’s space again.

Upriver paradise is truly magical…Steve has developed the site to be the most relaxing tranquil spot on the river…. Sitting and listening to the birds and rushing water was the best therapy ever! What an unforgettable weekend @upriverparadise. Steve is the kindest host, has some mad skills with all the amenities. From the tables to place our Blackstone, to washing camp dishes, he has dialed in this perfect slice of paradise. The Johnny was spotless, easy to get to and even had privacy. Little fairy lights sparkled in the evening and cozy sitting areas down on the riverbank made out stay magical. The beautiful rushing river drowned out any “traffic” noise and lulled us to sleep comfortably. Water, power easily accessible. Just a hours drive to Bend/Sisters with majestic views. Steve has thought of everything! Number 1 on our list of places we will return to.

What a wonderful private camp with a river view. Steve was so nice to show me around when I got there to let me know where everything was. Lots of special touches like garden art, rocks around the trees with plants, everything is kept clean. It's really beautiful. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Gorgeous setting. Steve, the host, has poured his heart and soul into the property. So many details everywhere. It was fun exploring. Situated on the river, breathtaking. Yes, there is the highway, but it didn't bother me at all (which is unusual). Well laid out camping plan that can fit 3 or 4 RVs easily. Already scheduled another trip back. Completely reset my soul

Beautiful: sound of the McKenzie River, crows, wild mushrooms, ferns, trees, smell of Fall in the air and the sun reaching through the trees. Everything you need is available a porta potty, fire wood and electric. I have a teardrop trailer. There’s a house available to rent on the property also- perfect for those who aren’t into camping. Definitely will return!

Beautiful, level, peaceful location right on the river. Steve was helpful when checking in and out but not intrusive. Verizon cell service was decent and WiFi was available. We would definitely recommend this site to others.

I drove ten hours to get to this amazing spot and I’m so glad that I did. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Steve has created an absolutely magical paradise along the river, and I can’t wait to go back. There are numerous places to choose from where you can park and all of the views are spectacular. There are seating areas up above the river where you can make breakfast and relax or you can take a short walk (a few stairs) down to the river and enjoy numerous seating areas down there. The sound of the river is so therapeutic. You just get lost in it. There’s a fire pit where you can relax and plenty of space to set up your stuff. It was raining while I was there and host Steve was fine with me setting up a pop-up over the fire pit to keep it dry and create a space outside to relax even in the rain. Speaking of Steve, he is wonderful. The perfect host. He checked in and let me know he was available but also gave plenty of privacy. I needed to borrow a tarp and he helped immediately. He’s knowledgeable of the area and super easy going. The area has so many things to see and do. I went to numerous waterfalls and on so many beautiful hikes. Sisters, Oregon is only an hour away and such a cute spot to go grab coffee and lunch. The coffee shop a mile down the road makes THE BEST lattes and has a cute little gift shop attached. I really can’t express enough how perfect this spot is. Steve has put his whole heart into making a space for people to enjoy.

We love this Upriver spot!! It was our second time staying here. It's a perfect set up for groups with both RV's and tent campers. Lots of space, with a large fire pit and walking trails down to the river. Steve keeps it tidy with just the right amount of yard art and additional landscaping. He lives on site, so he's available if you need anything, but keeps to himself. The location is great for golfing, fishing, hiking--with easy access to the Willamette National Forest.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Upriver Paradise and it was truly a delightful experience for us and our friends who came along with their trailer too! Plenty of room for both of us to park our trailers with riverfront views. Beautiful, private spot in the forest along a picturesque river, a perfect escape into nature! The scenery is amazing and Steve has done a fantastic job putting his personal touches all around this retreat! We enjoyed the soothing sound of the flowing river, it's a great spot for relaxation. It’s also a great spot for exploring near by waterfalls, hot springs and lakes! The grounds are well-maintained, with the cleanest porta potty you will ever see. There are plenty of chairs, picnic tables and benches throughout the retreat as well. Overall, I highly recommend Upriver for anyone looking to connect with nature. We can't wait to return!

We loved our stay at Upriver Paradise! Steve has a great setup. Lovely setting right on the river, very peaceful… plenty of space for a couple of campers and tents if need be. He also has a very clean porta potty which was appreciated!

Third visit this year and it just keeps getting better each time! We had some triple digit weather and it was fantastic to escape to the river! We had rain one night and that was fun, too! Steve takes exceptional care in maintaining his site. Loved watching the osprey and the little birds hopping around the site. It’s always beautiful and looks like no one else has been there. We enjoy the property so much and we’re thinking about a quick November trip this year! Thanks again, Steve!! The whole family loved it!

Our group, 16 of us, had THE BEST time at Steve’s Paradise on the McKenzie. We utilized both the campsite (2 trailers, 3 tents) and the larger of the two cabins. The cabins and campsite were in close proximity of each other via a short walk so that we could easily use the house and campsite for our group. Everything was so clean and Steve has thought of all the comforts and special touches. We especially loved being so close to the river. The campsite was very well maintained and the trails to the river were excellent. He has chairs placed in the best spots! 10/10 for this experience. We will definitely be back. Thanks Steve 🙏🏻

Highly recommend this awesome property! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, and the host/ owner is super helpful, friendly, and just plain cool! The grounds are well taken care of with all the amenities you would need, as well as some darling decor. This place is relaxing and idyllic, we plan on returning soon!

There are multiple areas with chairs and benches to enjoy the beautiful view of the river. We spent most of our time with our feet in the water watching the rafts pass by. Steve has done an incredible job with all of the small details covered. The space is spotless! Lots of space for multiple people!

We had an amazing time at this campsite along the McKenzie River! Steve was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The site was spacious enough to comfortably fit two 30-foot trailers with lots of room left over, and the level of privacy made it feel like our own personal retreat. Steve has included thoughtful touches at the site, including multiple seating areas, spare extension & trailer power cords and bug zappers. We enjoyed it so much we’ve already rebooked for next year. Highly recommend!

This site was perfect for our group (3 families camping together). We had tents and a trailer, and everyone had plenty of space. The location on the river is wonderful, we did plenty of cold plunges and enjoying the summer heat. The host is so nice and hospitable. The porta-potty's were so clean and well taken care of. Super cute coffee shop/cafe just down the road. All around, an amazing stay and would love to come back!
