Just follow the pink flagging from our "Black Tail River Trail" sign at the south end of the grounds along the mowed path into the woods to the river. Approx 750' from the sign. Conveniently located near the towns of Kelso and Longview, and only 2.7 miles from Castle Rock. Two full hookups are available, two water/power sites, along with ample dry camping areas. We have a porta potty as well. Horses are welcome on the property, as are leashed/penned and friendly pets. Dogs can be off leash at the river, but be courteous and aware of other dogs. Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. A private refuge where river otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, seals, raccoons along with threatened Columbia river white tailed deer can be seen. Property has 1,000 feet of boat docks, river deck, and pier. At the pier is a full kitchen, heated bathroom and shower room. Included are 2 outhouses, a fire pit for summer months, a viewing station overlooking the wetlands along with brick charcoal fired barbecue and another propane barbecue. We are committed to your privacy so guests are limited and spread out. High speed internet through out the property. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. ​There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We value your privacy. We do have cameras on the property that are on when no one is there. Once a Hipcamper arrives at the property, they are turned off. We also keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will never be there camping when you are there. In the summer, we sometimes kayak. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If it is booked at that time, we will always check first to see if it is okay for us to get out there. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later. If your plans change, please cancel through Hipcamp to get a refund.

There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring. Trash can provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. When driving out, make sure gate is open so stopping, on the steepest part, isn't required to open it. The rules are listed below under During Your Trip by clicking on 'Host Rules'. This campsite is on the Coweeman River, 16 miles east of Interstate 5, on Rose Valley Rd, Kelso, WA. A pool deep/large enough for swimming makes it a wonderful summer retreat. Caution: wet rocks are as slick as ice! There is only one site on this property so your party will have it to yourselves. A fire pit, with on site firewood available for purchase, provides warmth after your dip in the cool water. A picnic table is under a 13' X 13' pop up awning. The driveway terminates in a cul de sac; an area large enough for any vehicle to turn around. A small trailer (less than 20') is fine if you're talented getting it turned around or can unhitch and turned around by hand. You'd need a 4 wheel drive to get it out of the steepish driveway. There is a large flat area for parking/tents plus a couple remote, dirt sites for tents. Non digging, well mannered dogs are allowed (2 maximum) provided their responsible owners clean up after them. A new nifty outhouse has a great view! Rose Valley Road follows the Coweeman River, has little traffic, and may serve as a nice hike/bike up or down stream. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast. Learn more about this land: Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland. Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States. Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park. We offer two sites; Site A is on flat gravel that enjoys full sun. Site A is across from the large grassy area, perfect for sunning and relaxing. Site B is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. Site B is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit in Site B but you may need to back in. Site B is backed by our private, small shop. The two sites are separated by trees. Both sites have 120v, 30amp and water hookups. The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge. Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. ​There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We value your privacy. We do have cameras on the property that are on when no one is there. Once a Hipcamper arrives at the property, they are turned off. We also keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will never be there camping when you are there. In the summer, we sometimes kayak. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If it is booked at that time, we will always check first to see if it is okay for us to get out there. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring. Trash can provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. A fire pit, with on site firewood available for purchase, provides warmth after your dip in the cool water. A picnic table is under a 13' X 13' pop up awning. The driveway terminates in a cul de sac; an area large enough for any vehicle to turn around. A small trailer (less than 20') is fine if you're talented getting it turned around or can unhitch and turned around by hand. You'd need a 4 wheel drive to get it out of the steepish driveway. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States. Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States. Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit in Site B but you may need to back in. Site B is backed by our private, small shop. The two sites are separated by trees. Both sites have 120v, 30amp and water hookups. The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Quiet, clean, and a great view of the stars. Saw a few cats, deer, and many horses on the drive-in. I watched a beautiful sunset and the harvest moon! Very little light pollution, so the stars were very visible. The stay was so peaceful and quiet. There was hose and a 50amp to 30amp adapter waiting for me when I arrived, such a nice touch. I would highly recommend a stay at the Lavender field.

We had a group of 10 (including a toddler) and this was absolutely the perfect spot for all of us! Ed's property is beautiful with lovely little nooks of campgrounds tucked away from each other, so people could get as much privacy as they liked or congregate in common spaces. There are a couple of sites with steep ledges, so we steered clear of those, but found lots of space for our toddler to run free, collecting leaves and sticks. The babbling brook running through the property was my favorite part. And each camp site has a cute little woodburning stove and firepit ring. It is clear that Ed loves his property and loves sharing it -- he is a warm and inviting host. It is a magical place and we plan to make this a regular weekend spot for our family during nice weather!

Really cool spot! Very private - we stayed on a Saturday and the entire time had maybe 3 cars drive pass by and there’s no other houses nearby or across the river so you truly feel private but safe. Beautiful surroundings and the site itself was spacious. Watching the ships pass by was the best part and I read some complaints about the tower but we thought it was cool and added to the unique vibe of the area. Would most definitely return!

Everyone was very friendly and happy to suggest things to do and see and the property had everything we needed! St. Helens, & Olympic National Park, just 3 minutes from Rainbow Falls State Park and 4 minutes from Willapa Biking Trail! We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 56 acres of mixed biomes including multi-generational forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn onto Labri road (white sign) and you're on the property after going through a gate. Meander down the road past a red barn and several buildings on your right. Through the second gate, the dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed through the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left (look for a blue and white ribbon) you will come up to a tree line where you can park (another blue and white ribbon) and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp. You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek. The most ideal spot is right after you park near the blue and white ribbon if you walk North you'll see a site marked with an orange and white ribbon. This site has easy access to the creek but is still on a hill. There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. We have two RV sites with no hook up (boondocking) but bathroom and shower access. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park. The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds. We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events. 6 mi from Jones Creek Brewing, 7 mi from Evey's Cafe & Pe Ell, 20 mi from I-5, 69 mi Westport Quiet hours are from 11pm - 8am.

We would love to share our beautiful wooded 8 acres. We live here but your site is far enough from our house for privacy. The RV pad is surrounded by trees. Our RV space will easily park a 38ft. RV. It has full hookups with either 30 amp or 50-amp power. You are only 2 miles from shopping and only miles from Lackamas Lake and Battleground Lake for hiking, swimming, biking, boating and fishing. Down the road about 1/4 mile is Velvet Acres barn where you can buy fresh produce in July, August and September, then in October it's a Pumpkin Patch. Be sure while you’re here you visit Vancouvers waterfront downtown. Great shops and excellent places to eat. On weekends there’s a large farmers market that has all kinds of fresh produce. While here be sure to drive out to the gorge, it is one of the more breathtaking sites in the NW. We are 10 miles from the Columbia River and 36 miles from Multnomah Falls. On a nice day you can drive to the beach to cool off, it's about 90 miles to Longbeach. Being in the wetlands we have a lot of trees for privacy. The RV area is at the end of an area that is gated for security. There is a grassy area outside your door and a grassy area out back of your RV. We have trails you are welcome to use. You will see bunnies and all kinds of birds as well as deer that visit now and then. Although they have built homes on the west side the fence and trees give plenty of privacy. They recently started a home that should be done within a month. Contact me for updates. This is a perfect place if visiting the area or it’s a great place for snowbirds or workers that are in this area for weeks or months. Text me ahead for openings. We do consider long term stays. Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond (please see below), but the Lewis river is close by with tons of recreational activities (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with some farms AND residential homes/Airbnbs along the river, so, be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is not far (six miles) to get supplies and the Heisson convenience store is less than a mile away. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a quick trip out of town for a day or two or just a quick and safe stop in your travels. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow to help for more privacy!!! Please, read each site description carefully! There is NO electricity or plumbing at the sites. I did install a BPA safe hose for water at the top of the hill for your use (I usually have it on but if not please feel free to message me and if I haven't responded within a half hour please feel free to knock on my door). Site 1 does have a camp toilet (composting bucket with seat and lid) because it is mostly a tent site (some small RVs and trailers can fit). Site 2 is for RVs (and tents with them) that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, they MUST have high recall. Please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. *We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get in any given year). Currently, it is dry.

Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies, Spirits, or campfire wood. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer. We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots. We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of. During the late summer, our 5 apple trees produce great fruit. We also have 2 plum trees, and some blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like. Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly.
