There are open meadows, forested areas, and a trail that circles the property. Find the beginning of the wood-chip trail near the campsite and follow it through the trees. The trail comes out near the house. Enjoy the view and take care near the cliff. The campsite is in a small open meadow surrounded by trees on three sides and with a view to the south toward the Olympic mountains. We have only one campsite. You will be very private with no other campers nearby. Electrical, water, and sewer hookups are provided. NOTE: There are no bathroom facilities for tent campers. SEWER HOOKUP NOTE: Sewer hookup is on the driver's side of the vehicle if you pull in forward. If you pull all the way forwards the sewer hookup will be 24' behind the front tire. There is no turnaround and you cannot drive off the front of the pad. The hookup is raised about 2 feet off the ground to enable gravity feed. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. We are just starting out so this place will get better and better as time goes on. We at The Rustic Retreat value your privacy and we try not to interact with campers unless you request. The Peninsula Northwest has some amazing activities including hiking, biking, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, whale watching, beach combing, Kayaking, and so much more. The Rustic Retreat is about 20 minutes from downtown Port Angeles and the Victoria Ferry and about 30 minutes from Lake Crescent. It is the perfect place to stay in between everything. There is a communal firepit can be used by all campers until the Clallam County burn ban comes into affect. During the burn ban, the firepit will be closed off. We also have walking trails, more lighting and parking. We have not been able to get fish in the ponds yet, however some wild ducks stop by now and again to say hi. The hiking trail head is down the dirt road, west of the porta potty, it is roughly 316 yards to the trail head. Walking and biking is allowed. Trail is very natural so it is uneven, please be careful. 2026 Update: The property The Rustic Retreat Campground in on, is for sale. We will try to keep all reservations throughout September as long as the buyer agrees. If you are interested in more information about the sale, just ask.

Closer to our beach more private no road noise bigger sites on 102 acres. The waves will be the only noise you hear at night. We are still located near all the popular places to visit. And our private beach is just down the road from our campground. You might have seen "Private Beach Front" Property campground on hipcamp that is our property too. We have a canvas bell tent on one end of our beach.

We enjoyed the simplicity and beautiful views that The Back Porch offered us and we look forward to coming back and spending more time enjoying the surrounding areas of Port Angeles and the easy access to the national park and other recreational spots . The location is truly close to everything that surrounds Port Angeles . We arrived a tad later in the evening , but even in the dark we were able to follow their written instructions which also copied our GPS . Kate met us with a welcome bag of goodies , treats for the dog and some fun stickers , which was a great surprise . The location is right along side the end of their house and driveway … but still very private and quiet . We highly recommend this spot . The nightly rate was very competitive too. We own a mid sized class A , 33 ft, and took up most of the pad area . Slightly larger rigs will fit but you may feel a little tight , or close to the homes driveway. Power is a 50 amp plug in and water only , so bring an adapter to down size .. Kate brought one with the goodies in case we needed it , but we were already plugged in . Again we would highly recommend this location .

Very peaceful and nice location to Crescent Beach and a variety of recreation . Janelle was very helpful and made sure I was settled in ok. Both the options for camping are great and there is space and nature surrounding. Flynn the resident dog visited respectfully and we took a walk at dusk. It was nice to know he was around being so shepherdly sweet and friendly. I’ll be back.

This was such a lovely and well taken care of campground. The little gazebo that has been built there was wonderful and the property was beautiful, with a little walking trails and a nice river right next to the campsite. There is plenty of space for pets to roam around and the campsite feels nice and secluded. We would definitely go back!

Spot number one was perfect for my needs! I wish I had been able to stick around and enjoy the area but unfortunately, I just needed a place to pitch my tent to sleep for a night. I came in after dark and left before the sun came up, although my partner stayed a bit later. The campsite was easy to find easy to load in and out of large and quiet. I was grateful for this sites proximity to the Clallam County Fairgrounds.

The Ranger, ha ha inside joke. The GM was extremely helpful on finding the discovery Trail! He knew my first name, but I do not know his. This RV park has only been open for 2 1/2 months. What a wonderful facility. Very clean and well kept. Deer visited our campsite this morning! What a joy. Private individual shower/bathrooms. The whole facility is immaculate. It definitely checked all the boxes quite safe clean and friendly. Thank you so much! You made our visit to the Pacific Northwest a complete joy.

Made it very easy to extend your stay by extending your black tank storage capacity. Just as pictured. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing! Saw bald eagles, herons, gulls, and deer. 10 out of 10 would stay here again!

Great place to stay on the sw side of ONP. Easy access to beach and lots of local sites to visit. Some sites had great views but many were blocked. Get there early for best selection. Half of campsites closed (may have been season or due to govt shutdown and some were damaged due to storm ) Even more limited selection if you have large RV as most sites barely fit my 25' class c.

Olympic National Park is one of the most diverse, if not THE most diverse National Parks out there. You can find so many trails to explore, visit the beaches, Hoh Rainforest, or hike into the mountains. I love visiting this park!
