3 sisters and our brother in law decided we wanted to make a place where people can enjoy the Northwest that we grew up in. It doesn't matter if you bring your own tent, drive an rv, or rent the luxury tent, the great outdoors is there for all to enjoy! We have great places to pitch your own tent and enjoy the rustic pleasures just being outdoors. The sites are rustic and access to trails are nearby. We also have a wonderful covered outdoor kitchen with propane grill, microwave, and coffee pot. A safe place to gather with family. Bring your RV and park and have a large site to yourself. You have room to spread out your awning without hitting the next vehicle. Each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. Also if you are in the mood you have a covered kitchen to meet and mingle with other guests. We also have a big screen tv in the kitchen so you don't miss the Seahawks games. Drive in and enjoy a lovely view of unspoiled woods from the deck of your canvas tent. Enter the door into a spacious area with a king or queen size bed and small kitchen area. Each tent has its own heat source for your comfort. Each tent has its table right outside on the deck but it you are feeling social come enjoy our outdoor kitchen. We are open year round and It is different every season Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. You NEED to check this place out."

Camping is in an open field just off hwy 112, and is surrounded with trees. We offer fire pits for bbq only (bring your own briquettes), and an outhouse. Hand sanitizer is available in the out house, which we sanitize everyday. We are close to the Elwha river and numerous hiking and biking trails. Seventeen miles outside of Port Angeles. This is a dry camp. Distance from the campground: Olympic Discovery Trail - 1 Mile Elwha Interpretive Center - 2 miles Mouth of Elwha River - 2.5 Miles Salt Creek - 4 Miles Port Angeles - 7.5 Miles Lake Crescent - 15 Miles Also, you'll want to bring your own briquettes. We have BBQ pits for your use. Coming along hwy 112 from Port Angeles you'll cross the intersection of Dan Kelly/Place Road and the highway (don't turn here, stay on highway 112). If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. Located 10 miles west of Port Angeles on the scenic Highway 112. This is a small farm homestead with geese, chickens, and Flynn the farm dog. Backed by a forest of cedar trees and a creek running through it, there is plenty of privacy for campers on the 10 acres. There are several common areas should you want to visit fellow campers. Several areas have fire pits and mobile fire pits can be delivered to your camp site. This is a “meet and greet” campsite where I place you according to your camping needs (remote/close to facilities, Rv/tent, size of party, etc). I have to be on site at your arrival, so please keep me informed of your expected arrival time. Note: I love hosting campers with dogs. However, I have had two sheep put down due to attacks by guest dogs. My very friendly dog has been attacked by guest dogs. I no longer have sheep, because I won’t endanger them. You need to verify that your dog is not aggressive.

Come enjoy the serenity of The Rustic Retreat. Located on 50+ private wooded acres, over a mile off the highway our tent sites will give you the peace and quiet you are looking for. The night sky is clear and perfect for star gazing. This place truly is a piece of heaven. As of right now we have large and small tent sites. There are ponds to look at and eventually they will be stocked with fish. The campsites are not completely flat and may have a few small holes so please be careful and watch your step. A lot of this property has been left natural for years and we are trying to keep it as natural as possible. We do suggest sleeping on an air mattress or camping pad for your comfort. We are just starting out so this place will get better and better as time goes on. We at The Rustic Retreat value your privacy and we try not to interact with campers unless you request. The Peninsula Northwest has some amazing activities including hiking, biking, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, whale watching, beach combing, Kayaking, and so much more. The Rustic Retreat is about 20 minutes from downtown Port Angeles and the Victoria Ferry and about 30 minutes from Lake Crescent. It is the perfect place to stay in between everything. There is a communal firepit can be used by all campers until the Clallam County burn ban comes into affect. During the burn ban, the firepit will be closed off. We also have walking trails, more lighting and parking. We have not been able to get fish in the ponds yet, however some wild ducks stop by now and again to say hi. The hiking trail head is down the dirt road, west of the porta potty, it is roughly 316 yards to the trail head. Walking and biking is allowed. Trail is very natural so it is uneven, please be careful. 2026 Update: The property The Rustic Retreat Campground in on, is for sale. If the property gets sold we will ask to close after September. If you are interested in more information about the sale, just ask. You can get The Rustic Retreat Swag at https://the-rustic-retreat-store.printify.me/
