We had a great time camping at the Rhizosphere. The campground amenities are great: outdoor kitchen, propane stove, covered seating, etc.
I wasn't sure going into it what to expect from the outdoor composting toilet, but it was one of the nicer hipcamp toilet facilities I've come across tbh.
Easy access to everything the Northside of the Olympic Peninsula has to offer.
Orchard Camp is an absolute gem. We stayed two nights and were blown away by how much the host provides , this is easily the best-equipped tent site we've stayed at.
The covered kitchen pavilion is fully stocked: a double sink with running water from a gravity tank, a 3-burner propane stove, a Blackstone griddle, pots, pans, utensils, dish soap, towels, and bins for trash and recycling. Drinking water is provided in a big jug with a pump, with extra containers on hand. There's even a propane hot-water heater, so the outdoor shower is actually hot , a huge luxury when camping.
The fire ring area is great, with plenty of benches and a covered stash of free firewood, kindling, lighter fluid and a poker. A wagon is provided to haul gear the short 150 feet from the gravel parking area. Little touches everywhere: a clothesline, a rope swing, a clean composting outhouse, apple trees right around the site, and clear signs pointing to everything. Our dog loved it too.
Everything was clean, thoughtfully laid out, and clearly cared for. We'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you, Tyson!
Tyson has really thought out well this campground and it makes camping easy, especially when you have two kids running around. Our 4 year old absolutely loved the swing. We really enjoyed the kitchen area with a complete glamping setup. We would return here again for camping on the Olympic peninsula!
This is such a dreamy space in the woods! We enjoyed our time under the trees. Tyson has done an excellent job creating a cozy and comfortable space to camp. It is complete with heated outdoor shower (so nice!), covered kitchen with potable and non potable water, composting 'toilet', swing, benches, and fire pit. It's a spacious spot that had more than enough room for two people and two tents. There is some noise from the road but it isn't too obtrusive. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved it! My pups and I stayed two nights and loved the space so much we actually just hung out on property one of the days just to recharge - literally and figuratively (this is one of the few places I’ve stayed in Washington and had full service with Verizon 🙌🏼) It is very apparent how much work and thought went into not only making a comfortable space for individual guests, but also to encourage interaction, if wanted, within the shared spaces :) The outdoor shower was amazing as well! Highly recommend!
Adorable spot, very clean and welcoming. The host is attentive and communicative. We had a lovely few days there and would absolutely go back. Nice trails nearby.

Love the stay on Tyson’s land!! We had such a good time with enough amenities to make it helpful while still giving us a great camping feel. Loved the location and proximity to hikes all around. Would love to come back and visit again!

Great stay at the Rhizosphere! The site is spacious, quiet and well equiped. Plenty of wood for the fire pit, a hot shower, clean composting toilets. The location is also prime to explore the lake Crescent area, Port Angeles and hurricane ridge. We definitely recommend!
Amazing, quiet escape in the woods. This was our first stay using Hipcamp. Tyson was so accommodating and the property is stunning! The shower in the morning was just the right thing to get the day started. Close to lots of places to explore as well, one of the best camping trips of the summer!

We liked this campsite! It was great!
Spacious.
Nice gazebo as a shared area! It's an amazing place to avoid the rain. Note: Since we were the only family there last weekend, we were allowed to put our tent in the gazebo. Normally, that's not allowed if another family is camping there.
Clean toilets!
Kind staff.
So quiet! Even though it's near a road, there are almost no cars at night, so it's very peaceful.
Nice location. Less than 20 minutes from downtown and many other attractions.
One downside is that you have to park your car away from your tent.
Definitely we will love to come back here!

We loved tent camping in the orchard! The land is beautiful and the shower, bathroom and kitchen were all awesome amenities that made this place a perfect base camp for the Port Angeles portion of our Olympic Park trip. The hosts were awesome as well and helped us out with whatever we needed. We'd definitely stay here again!
Staying at the Rhizosphere was a wonderful experience! Tyson came out to say hello upon our arrival and we met their driveway duck. Tyson had left excellent information and directions on how to work everything. We had a question the first evening and called, and he was at our door within 2 minutes.
The land is beautiful and very close to all the adventures in the northern part of the National park.
In case a composting toilet makes you unsure, I can assure you it was not a problem at all! I’ve used them before but Tyson left great directions and plenty of wood shavings.
The home was well stocked with tea, coffee, and even a few snacks. We really enjoyed our stay here and would deviously visit again!

I love the privacy and facilities that was available to use. Hot shower and a community kitchen with propane etc..hot shower was really nice in the morning and a campfire that could be used. We reached late night and host were very responsive and helpful. Great stop, not like other campgrounds where you park near by. The title says it all car camp with added facilities for cooking and cleaning.

Very peaceful sanctuary in the forest. The sounds of the forest so alive and happy. .Tyson was very helpful and friendly. The outhouse is so cool and unique. Everything is creatively done in natural ways and integrated into the flow of the space, which I love. It felt like my journey needed that kind of rest stop. Top

After a few nights of camping in the rain Tyson’s Hipcamp was just the reprieve we were looking for! The property was easy to access, had plenty of amenities, and Tyson even had a fire going for us when we got there! Tyson was super helpful and easy to communicate with. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had a great stay in the Forest Camper! Such a convenient location close to Port Angeles and National Park sights and activities. It was really nice to have a cozy space with a kitchen, toilet, and shower, to come back to. Tyson was very attentive and helpful even while being out of town!

Orchard Camp
We had a wonderful time camping at Tyson’s! The site has a communal kitchen, picnic table, and fire ring. Even with another party camping, it was easy to share the amenities without any issues. The kitchen is well equipped with a sink, a gas stove and a Blackstone, though you’ll want to bring your own pots and pans. We were pleasantly surprised by the shower—the hot water and water pressure were excellent. Everything was clean and well maintained, and there’s both potable and non-potable water available.

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was very cozy and we appreciated having access to hot water, shower, toilet, and complete kitchen - pots/pans, plates, bowls, silverware, stovetop, fridge, toaster oven, and oils/seasonings. The Host, Tyson, was very welcoming and answered any questions we had. It was only about a 10 -15 minute drive to Port Angeles and entrance to the National Park which made it really convenient. This trip will always hold a special place in our hearts - we got engaged! Thanks for a great stay.
Tyson was an excellent host and went out of his way to accommodate us. The property and site were in great condition, and the communal cooking area was enjoyable to use. The composting toilet setup was one of the nicest I’ve used. Overall I’d definitely recommend this site!

We had a fantastic experience here! When we arrived, we were greeted by Tyson and one of his kids, both of whom were so welcoming. The property had everything we needed for our stay, and everything was within such close proximity to our site. Highly recommend staying here!
This was an amazing camp. Tyson has a perfect set up for camping. The camp kitchen was perfect, hot shower, and compost toliet. Tyson was super helpful and pointed us to a local spot to cool down since we were camping during a slight heat wave. There is a little road noise on occasion from neighbors driving home but not bothersome to us. Would definitely camp here again. Highly recommend.
Tyson and their family were welcoming, accommodating, and considerate. The camp site was ideal for our group, specifically the hot outdoor shower, composting toilet, and covered dining table. The host was responsive to all questions, and generous with their assistance. We would happily book again!
