Beachlovers, watersports lovers, this is a great location on beautiful Vashon! I call this opportunity "Wild Card Camping" because what I'm offering isn't typical: camping plus limited, shared use of my empty vacation cabin while it's being renovated for a fall rental.
Guests have access to a bathroom with a shower, Wi-Fi, and a table and chairs for air-conditioned relaxation with fellow campers on hot days. The cabin is otherwise unfurnished. For a small fee ($3), you can also arrange to use the laundry.
There is room for two tent sites in a small field below the cabin.
Here's why the location is so special: A short 10- to 15-minute walk through the nearby historic hamlet of Ellisport brings you to KVI, the island's largest sand spit and one of its best beaches. You can also launch a kayak or paddleboard from Crow Beach, a sandy shoreline right next to the bus stop and even closer to your campsite.
During July and August, you can pick blackberries on the property, listen to owls at night, hear eagles and ospreys calling during the day, and maybe even spot a deer wandering through.
Hike or bike to a local café for coffee and pastries, or hop on the Route 119 bus, which stops next to Crow Beach, and head into town to shop or dine at one of Vashon's wonderful restaurants. Ride the bus in the other direction to hike the bluffs at the south end of Maury Island.
Visit the golf course for a meal or a round of golf, or purchase a $17 day pass to the Vashon Athletic Club if you'd like to work out. You can also take the bus to either the north or south ferry terminal for day trips to Seattle or Tacoma.
Wild Card Camping is located at the end of a dirt driveway off a road that has commuter traffic on weekday mornings and evenings. Traffic can also be heavier on summer weekends, but the area is generally very quiet during the middle of the day and after 6:00 p.m.

We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey.
The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups!
Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi.
About the campground:
The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins.
There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊
The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

We had an amazing stay and would absolutely book here again! We stayed at a site on the river, and it was such a beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing getaway. Traveling all the way from Florida, it was wonderful to arrive and have everything already set up and ready for us.
Jeremy truly thought of everything a guest could need, which made our trip so much easier.
There were thoughtful touches everywhere, from robes, headlamps, and shower sandals to a cooler with ice, quality cookware, a knife block, plenty of dishes and utensils, and even basic seasonings and oil for cooking. It honestly felt like all we had to do was show up and enjoy ourselves.
A friend and I brought our 3 kids, and we loved having the option to add a second tent. It made the setup perfect for our group.
Jeremy and his daughter were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Their hospitality and genuine care for their guests really stood out and made the experience even more enjoyable.
The property was exactly what we were hoping for, and it’s clear that a lot of thought, care, and pride go into creating such a comfortable and memorable experience. We highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a unique, stress-free getaway.

We camped at John Wayne's Waterfront RV Resort with our truck popup camper and tent in their overflow primitive site D. It was a lovely location in the park, on grass and near woods and you could hear a creek. The bathrooms were clean and we had good showers. Adorable bunnies hop about the park, fun to watch. Tracy and her team were friendly and welcoming. We had an awesome meal at the Dockside Grill in the Marina across the road.

Thank you Beth for the lovely stay and warm welcome at Hobson farm. We traveled to Bellingham for a bike&music festival and decided to try hipcamp as so many hotels in town booked out or just crazy money for a motel-type stay. There's no comparison to how much more fun our small kids (ages5&6) had at the yurt - petting dogs and feeding trout and being beside a fire at night. Another unexpected highlight was the beautiful towns of Bow & Edison which we'd never discover otherwise. My husband and kids berated me for not booking two nights. Usually not as good a 'camper' as me, my husband was the one who had the best night sleep, and didn't want to leave. LOVED IT!

Tent camping here was great! There was plenty of communication and she was available for questions. Our site had plenty of room to have space from others but still were close to the amenities (shower, toilets - just portapots but very clean, and fire). The site was no more than 15 minutes from everywhere we wanted to go on the lake, and relatively close to plenty of hikes.

Weekend Trip to The Pathfinders Sanctuary
Such a beautiful location on the Skagit River! The camp set up is so well done and comfortable. Makes for such an easy stay. We spent hours in the zero gravity chairs watching the river, birds, some deer, and the sunset. Also had a couple great meals in Concrete at Cascade Burgers and 5b’s bakery.

I absolutely loved it here. The sites are big and the host Teresa is so friendly & had lots of great insight about the area. The shower is fantastic, not very often I find one with good water pressure and super hot just how I like my showers. The only downside was the firepit, and having to lug everything up to the community area every night to have a fire. Still not a deal breaker though, we'll be back. 5 STARS💫💫💫💫💫

We had a great time camping at Teresa's place! We felt at home comfortable. Teresa was a wonderful host. She gave us a list of things to do & they were exceptional. Cape Flatterly & Crescent Beach were our favorites Loved having a great shower each nite. All the other campers were very nice. Thank you very much Teresa!!

Ben’s Ridge at Big Twin Lakes Resort is a huge camping spot overlooking the resort. Great view of the lake and hills. Full sky view so perfect for Starlink. Clean bathroom with shower, and ice for sale at the check-in booth. Great spot for our Sprinter van.

Camping here was amazing! Teresa was amazing. She was so kind and helpful when we had questions. The new shower is fantastic and so nice after a long day at the lake. There were barely any mosquitoes which was a great perk. We are definitely going back soon!

My partner and I (and our puppy) stayed at tha A-frame cabin for a quick overnight escape from the city. It was nice and cozy and we loved the mountain views.
