Absolutely fabulous! Whimsical! Outdoor kid friendly! A true vibe! Gary is a wonderful and personable host. This is probably the most kid friendly (with supervision) camping location I’ve been to yet!

We enjoyed so many things about Gary’s place! We stayed in the bell tent and it was more than I expected. Some of the stand outs: We arrived to a freshly made, comfortable bed for my husband and I and a very nice blow up mattress for our daughter. The private kitchen was amazing. Between that and the communal kitchen, we literally only needed to bring our food. Pots, pans, plates, cups, bowls, etc are all provided. The composting toilets are clean (our site also has its own toilet.) We happened to camp during the weekdays and were the only ones there. We had a blast playing cards under the umbrellas, hanging with the rabbits, and playing with all of the fun kid toys. Being surrounded by whimsy at every turn helped us to remember how to have fun. We will definitely be back and hope to bring all of our friends and take over the forest! Thank you Gary for creating a place that invites free spirited fun!

Magical and Whimsical Experience

Our family had an amazing time at Elfendahl Forest! It was whimsical and fun with lots of amenities. We stayed in the Baggins Inn. It comfortably fit 2 adults and 3 small children. Setting up and tearing down a tent is one of my least favorite things about camping. The accommodations made it so I could spend that time playing with the kids instead. I love that our dogs were welcome too! It was really nice to have a well kept composting toilet available. I appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and cooking surfaces as well. Thank you for making such a magical experience for us! The kids are planning next season's trip to visit Elfendahl again. 😊

My niece and I had a wonderful time on the Wanderbus! It was beautifully equipped and designed. The hot tub was perfection. Candy and the other staff on site helped with anything that came up and were incredibly kind and welcoming. I can't wait to come back with my kids!

A Whimsical Wonderland for Families

What a delightful little gem! From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the colorful, whimsical art installations scattered throughout the property. Every corner seemed to have a fun surprise, giving the whole place a playful, magical feel that made our stay especially memorable. The Lotus tent was cozy, comfortable, and a perfect home base. We also really appreciated both the private kitchen setup right outside the tent for our area and the main shared kitchen for back-up mugs/plates/equipment—they were both thoughtfully equipped and made cooking incredibly convenient. Our kids (ages 6 and 8) were absolutely enchanted. Between the tire swing, bikes, foosball table, endless toys, sweet bunnies, and the owners' incredibly friendly dogs, they were happily entertained for hours. It felt like a place where kids could simply be kids, exploring and playing freely. We also picked up fresh eggs from the owners for breakfast, and they were absolutely delicious. The only minor downside was the mosquitoes, but the owners thoughtfully provided bug spray, which was much appreciated. This place is full of warmth, creativity, and whimsy, just like its owners. If you're looking for a unique, family-friendly getaway with thoughtful hosts and endless charm, we can't recommend it enough.

This place was super cute!!! I love Le all the different places you could sleep/stay but there was a common area of you wanted to mingle. The cutest decor and things to look at and sit by. The hosts were very gracious and kind. I enjoyed their pups!! Good dogs if I might say so!!

We had a great time at Baggins Inn in Elfendahl Forest! The property is so nicely tucked away from the main road, making for a peaceful and quiet getaway, but it’s not so far that we couldn’t drive back into town as needed. The amenities and attention to detail were amazing - from the relaxing outdoor shower, to the fully stocked kitchen, to the fun games and activities all around. Gary and staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved exploring the property and greeting the rabbits, chickens, dog and cat. This is truly a magical little spot right nearby us. I’m very happy to have found it.

There are hidden treasures throughout the property, games of all sorts for all ages, bunnies to pet, chickens to say “hi” to (but disinterested in being pet), and the hosts were great. We had a great stay and will be recommending it to our friends.

10/10 experience for kids + parents

My kids never wanted to leave! I'm ready to go back too! I had bins of toys and other supplies that I never unloaded from the van because Gary's camp is so well supplied. A friend and I rented the two tents with our six children ages 3-9 and they had a blast playing with each other. They had so much freedom but they were always close.

Great for family camping! Great atmosphere! Kids had a great adventure through the forest. Kids had fun feeding the bunnies and chickens. Only 20 minutes from Belfair and 20 minutes from the fishing lakes. Definitely worth a night or 2!

This place was great! So much to see and explore. The outdoor kitchen area was well setup and stocked with everything you need to cook your meals. My kids loved the games and the big net, which they played on for hours. Overall I'd recommend it to other families for sure.

We loved our time here! Gary is so kind and welcoming. The baggins inn site was awesome! Our tent was clean and spacious. The shared kitchen was awesome! We had everything we needed and the whole vibe was so chill. Our kids loved running throught the forest and playing all the games that were centrally located. As parents, we felt so relaxed and comfortable. Our kids LOVED their time and asked to go back the moment we got in the car.

Magical forest hideaway

We enjoyed our stay at Gary’s very kid/family friendly land. When we arrived he showed us around and explained how everything worked. The kids loved meeting new friends and playing with the dogs, petting bunnies and cats, and finding all the gnome statues hidden around the property. At night, it was a brand new adventure with all the things that light up. The community kitchen was great. Fun stop on our Washington adventure!

What a magical and majestical time we had in Gary's Forest. Upon arrival Gary helped accommodate us with our transit van and the new campsite he recommended was perfect. ⭐️ 🍄 I LOVE THE WANDER BUS 🚌 🧡

The Wanderbus experience was one of my favorite parts of my PNW adventure. It was our last stay before going home after 4 days of hiking and it was the perfect end to our trip. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and the vibes were ‘chefs kiss’. The optional private hot tub was amazing and a must for anyone.. Gary provides essential oils you can add to your water for extra relaxation. Perfect for the sore muscles. I was overwhelmed by how much love Gary put into his entire property. From the compostable toilet & the fully equipped outdoor kitchen to the creative art, whimsical decor and the property pets.. I wish we could’ve stayed a bit longer. Maybe silly but my favorite part of the camp experience was the outdoor shower in the morning. It was so refreshing - spacious, fresh air, hot water & good water pressure. He also provides plenty of body wash/shampoo options. His dogs were super sweet and fun to play with. We also got to pet the bunnies and walk the trail to find a garden & chickens. Very cool place and I will recommend this to anyone visiting the area. Thanks for your hospitality Gary and for sharing your space with us.

A magical experience!

Cannot recommend this location enough! Gary, the host was very welcoming and maintained the perfect balance of being there to socialize and help us operate the campground while also not intruding. His dog Bacchus was the friendliest camp-dog we've ever met and our kids loved him. There are several camp/glamp locations that share a communal space. All of them are great but from our perspective the Lotus Tent was the best for families. It has its own private campfire, outdoor kitchen, and composting toilet. The tent has a mattress with blankets, a rug, and is seemingly weatherproof/bug proof. It is also the closest site to the main kids play area. I have 2 main tips for anyone who comes: 1: Check in with Gary regarding what camping supplies your location has. We MASSIVELY overpacked given how furnished and stocked the Lotus Tent was. 2: Find a chance to use the outdoor heated shower after dark when the various lights have come on. The experience is truly magical and refreshing. In conclusion we had a wonderful time and plan on making this a yearly visit. Thank you Gary and staff!

Fun kids camping experience!

My family of 3 + pup had such an amazing stay at the bus! The various games, toy, activities, decorations, and resident animals were a hit. My daughter's favorite part was playing fetch with Bacchus the dog - endless sticks for him! The bus and grounds had everything we needed. Inside is a queen bed, hand pump sink, and little stove. There is also a propane heater inside for winter time. Right outside the bus is a propane and a wood fire pit, some camping chairs, s'mores supplies, and private clean compost bathroom. The communal area also has a super cute clean bathroom and an amazing heated shower! The kitchen was fantastic, with propane grills available and a handy dishwashing station too. Right next to the bus is a short staircase that takes you to a sweet little creek. The bus definitely gives you the most privacy compared to the other sites. We peeked at the Lotus tent and that looked nice too, and is a little closer to the play communal area. whole area is well shaded, but be sure to bring lots of bug deterrent for the mosquitos (though there is some around the communal area should you forget). Would say this place is best suited for elementary age kids -- Gary has made a truly magical fun place and has lots of projects in the works, but this also means lots of tools/supplies lying around, so you would have to keep an extra close eye on the really littles. We can't wait to come back and throw more sticks for Bacchus! Thank you for your hospitality!

We had a great time camping at Elfendahl Forest! Our doggos had a blast exploring the campground, the lotus tent was quite cozy and spacious for both of us (plus a crate for the doggos) and the amenities met all our expectations. Staff were very friendly, would go back in a heartbeat! Might consider taking an extra day next time though so we have a little bit more time and can check out the nearby drive-in theater.

**don’t walk, run!** We had the BEST time in the forest! Gary, Candy & the dogs really helped turn our camp into a home. This place is even better and more immersive than the pictures & the yurt has a heater and an extra air mattress which were surprises pluses for us. It sounds like they have even more fun plans to grow the space & we can’t wait to go back! Maybe you’ll find the little duckies we placed around camp to add to the treasure :) thank you for everything guys!!!
