What a lovely view and open space to enjoy! It was a treat to see Lisa with her horse and pony riding in the light of the setting sun. A bit of magic. The directions were clear to get there. Weekend Trip to Elfendahl Forest

This is the best hipcamp I've ever been to. It was so quiet, the camper was extremely cozy and well stocked, and the spot was very private. The off grid hot tub was unique and well worth the extra fee! The whole campground is a very fun and creative space and you can really tell how much love and care Gary and crew have put into this place. I'll be back for summer camping!

Patrick’s spot was the perfect set up for us while visiting Seattle. We had originally planned one night but extended to 2 just so we could have more time there. If you need a convenient spot to park your RV (ours was 23ft) like we did then I would definitely recommend this site as it was super easy to find and use as a base in Seattle.

Weekend Trip to Hairy Eagle Lookout 🦅

This was a lovely place to camp with an incredible view! Level parking for our 25 foot trailer. There is some slight highway 101 noise, but nothing that would keep us from returning. It was a misty weekend, so we hunkered in most of the time. The clouds amongst the trees made for a beautiful view. We enjoyed going into the very small town to the Tipsy Whale for nice cider and beers. Mostly, we toured around and enjoyed the sea lions, seals, and many birds.

Weekend Trip to Highland View Farm

We had such a lovely time on Jacob’s property. It felt remote and private, while being a short drive into town. Our pup was a little too interested in the farm animals so we did keep her on leash, but she had a great time sniffing around on a long lead. Jacob was so friendly, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend for an upgraded camping experience.

We used this cabin as a base for exploring the forests and parks on the Olympic peninsula, and we had a blast. We were able to explore everything we wanted to, and return to a nice cozy and quiet cabin to rest and recover for the next day's dventures. The cabin had everything we needed for relaxing, and the hosts were responsive and had help available if anything small came up. Great place, would rent again if in the area.

Weekend Trip to Wild Hearts on Whidbey

We enjoyed our stay at the Glasshouse! The concept is really cool and we enjoyed the large space. Rochelle was responsive and quickly was able to find someone to fix the woodstove when we were having problems. If you are not confident in starting a fire I would definitely bring a fire starter. I am confident in my fire making skills, but we were not able to get a fire going, which made for a chilly stay. It feels relevant to note that the weather forecast was incredibly rainy so while the wood was dry, the humidity definitely had an effect (nobody's fault). Luckily there is a baseboard heater in the bedroom space as well as electric blankets so we were plenty warm at night! The dishwashing/handwashing station wasn't super obvious to us, and we hope in the future there will be a sink space to do these things.

You will find numerous hikes in the Olympic National Forest within a short drive, a gorgeous waterfall and swimming hole within 5 minutes, parks, Whitney Garden & Nursery, boat launches, crabbing, clamming & oyster digging, wildlife watching, enjoying the Hood Canal, and much more! Or, just sit back and relax in tranquility, as the property sits at the end of a cul de sac just before entering national forest land. Be sure to leash your pets and keep a good eye, as there are wildcats, coyotes, and bears in the area. Learn more about this land: Pull your RV or trailer onto this lot and take in the beautiful southwestern view of Mt. Jupiter ridge and a peek-a-boo view of the Dosewallips River! Listen closely, and you will hear the sounds of the river below. The lot is equipped with power and water hookups! Please be aware the water hookup is near the main gate entrance and the power is about 40 feet apart, so you may need a long hose (see pic). Enjoy the view from the large deck, firepit, or picnic table overlooking the river, valley, and mountains. This lot is truly a little slice of heaven! Within a few minutes, find yourself at Rocky Brook falls (see pics) for a spectacular view and even a swim if you so please! Pleasant Harbor Marina (also shown in pics) also within 10 minutes! You will also find many hiking trails and parks nearby! There is weak cell service on the lot, so you may or may not be able to connect. I get 1-2 bars with Sprint. While this property is not very far off the Dosewallips road (35 mph), it is generally very quiet and peaceful. You may hear cars and motorcycles from time to time, but very faintly. The lot is at about 350 ft. elevation, so you may get noise traveling up the valley from the residential community below (to which I belong), such as dogs, people using chainsaws, etc. There is hunting allowed in the national forest, so you could potentially hear guns in the distance during the day, but that is rare. There are a few close neighbors, so please be respectful and quiet, especially in the evening. Please bring your own firewood when campfires are allowed and please do not forage for firewood on or around the property. Lastly, while the sightings have been few and rare, the neighbors have seen bears, cougars, coyotes, and bobcats near their homes and this property. So keep an eye on your children and pets, especially if off-leash (your pet of course!) The property also slopes a bit where the deck starts, so again, keep a close eye on the kiddos. You have a very good chance of seeing the local Roosevelt Elk that travel in huge herds around Brinnon (See pics). They sometimes lay down and hang out on the grass on the property! Make sure your pets have their flea and tick updates!

In those instances, ear protection is recommended. About a third of summer weekdays the OLF is used. The jets do not fly on weekends and holidays. Having said all of this, most campers enjoy the airshow, as it is a unique opportunity. The camp site is approximately 6 acres located in a quiet secluded forest area near highway 525. A fire pit is provided on non-burn ban days. A flat grassy area is big enough to enjoy your recreation activity of choice. Bring your binoculars and check out all the different kinds of birds. Nearby wetlands provide lots of food for birds, bats, and dragonflies. Other wildlife you may see are deer, bunnies, owls, quail, butterflies, garter snakes, and raccoons. Lots of native flora can be identified with your plant identification app or book. The beach is about a mile away where you can hunt for sea glass and enjoy the waves or build yourself a shelter out of driftwood. The mostly flat gravel road can accommodate any size RV. 10 minutes to Coupeville, Greenbank Farm, Ebey's Landing, Port Townsend Ferry, and Patmore Pit Dog Park. 20 minutes to Freeland 25 minutes to Oak Harbor 30 minutes to the Clinton-Mukilteo Ferry 35 minutes to Deception Pass What you will need to bring: - firewood; apologies but I am unable to continue providing firewood. - self-contained RV, camper van, motorhome, or camping gear - water - grill or rack for fire pit - camp chairs/table - mosquito repellent - flashlights - recreation equipment Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and in the presence of the owner at all times.
